  • Here I show how I take a 3 phase compressor and convert it to run on single phase 230v by using a variable frequency drive (VFD). Easy step by step process including how to program the VFD.
    Heres a link to the VFD amzn.to/3uEjNNG

    You're the only person on youtube that has done this correctly. Thank you!

      Thanks for the feedback and that's why I made the video to make it easier for others as I couldn't find anything on TH-cam. You can do it 👍

    Thank you SO MUCH for this video. I was so lost in setting up my VFD to my compressor and you got me through it

      @@YoucandoitwithJules no, lol.
      I’m still wiring everything but I was completely dumbfounded by setting the VFD up that I was almost to the giving up point and sending it all back.
      But your vid gave me the exact info I was so nervous about because I didn’t want to burn up a brand new compressor. But I started wiring to the switch and comp this afternoon. I’ll keep you posted.
      Thanks again

    Just bought a three phases 400v compressor and was complaining the lack of informations about this type of installation with VFD, thank you for taking the time to share this !!! ❤

    Just put some rubber feets under the VFD because that’s quite a lot of vibrations when the compressor runs 😅😅😅 but again thanks for your work that’s just great content !!

      Help a little, but not much. Any way will soon an later vfd fail from bad contact and just maybe you can repair. This will error hard to found. I recommended you should have original wiring and add connector and install Vfd on you garage. When you working in garage you can connect on vfd, but when you need to another place compressor, you just connect directly with connector withoud vfd. It is just too much vibration for to much electronics. But you can use soft start, maybe a little cheaper, but with much less electronics. I think this reduce risk for bad contact at least for 50%.

    do you think I can do the same thing with an existing Hvac 3p compressor with a 3p grid so I can make it output less power ? (off course there lots of variables for this thing, but what should I make sure/watch for? except for some kind of feedback/off switch so that the ac compressor would not constantly work)

      This principle will work on all 3 phase motors. You can reduce its rpm by reducing the frequency. I run a 3p log splitter with the same type of VFD. Hope this help and let us know how it goes. You can do it 👍

    What happens if you disconnet the the vfd box dos it reset itself?

    • @YoucandoitwithJules
      @YoucandoitwithJules  3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      No the box is programmed as you've programmed it and stay that way until you change the settings. So you can disconnect from the mains and it'll remember the settings for next time it's plugged in. Keep us posted on how it goes. You can do it 👍

    On the switch side u hook to motor side or line side

    • @YoucandoitwithJules
      @YoucandoitwithJules  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not fully clear of your question. Pressure switch is simply a continuity line in and back to the correct switch terminals in the VFD. Mains power goes direct into the VFD. You can do it 👍

      I got vfd all hooked up already my question was the pressure switch has 4 terminal s two motor ones and 2 line ones I know do I just use any of those 2

    • @YoucandoitwithJules
      @YoucandoitwithJules  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      On the pressure switch just use any of the matching terminals. It's looks a bit odd with the massive connectors made for 3 phase and all you are connecting is a small wire. 🙃 Yöu can do it 👍

    Question for you, why you setup to delta 3 phases 230V while your VDF give 400V 3 phases ??

    • @YoucandoitwithJules
      @YoucandoitwithJules  ปีที่แล้ว

      After checking mind only gives 230 3 phase. You can do it 👍
