I agree with you 150%! I miss the melodic rock of the 80s. I'm only in the last several years discovering it again and a lot of the best bands we missed out on in the States. Today I really have trouble getting excited about new music. I like a few bands here and there, but once we got too gimmicky it stayed to gimmicky. The song is what matters or songs I should say. Nowadays is better than 90s, but not as good as 60s, 70s, or 80s.
This Band CHINA was very talented, I don't know whether they still perform or not but they could make themselves more bigger but they should have got more credit as they deserved, this awesome Melodic Hard Rock Band's Songs Lyrics just knocks our heart and soul!! like Their another song - Sign in the sky is much inspirational! and also some of Their other songs as well so They should have got more credits which They really deserved and unfortunately They remained underrated along with some other good underrated Bands from the late 80s! Poison are the same band whether they are the make-up caked mob of 1986 or stripped-down crew of 2006- - their music doesn't change just because they're wearing eyeliner or not. The music is just 'metal' - it wasn't until the scene was almost over that terms like 'hair', 'glam' and 'cock' metal came about. Just as Deacon Blue, New Kids on the Block, Kim Wilde and Rick Astley were all 'pop' despite looking and sounding different to one another, China, Ozzy, Crue, Maiden, Priest, Motorhead, AC/DC were all metal despite sounding and looking different.
