Soyeon, the member you’re in love with😭 writes and produces all of their songs (three other members write and produce fore them too) but soyeons a mastermind and comes up with songs touching on a lot of sensitive subjects and it’s not common in the kpop world
For Nxde, it is inspired not only by many artistic figures and celebrities, but also the quote (not sure if it's the exact words) along the lines of "I'd rather be hated for being me than being loved for something that I'm not". Soyeon has always pointed out that she believes that the word Nxde is not something vulgar, because as she has said it, we were all born Nxde.
Yep that quote was the main inspiration for the song lyrics. it's a quote by Marilyn Monroe which was also the main inspiration for the whole music video (hence why all of them are blond). Another artist that was referenced is banksy when the art at the end gets shredded
I am a casual gidle listener so I might be wrong about some of this (feel free to correct me neverlands) but afaik nude was definitely a statement, it talks about the hypocrisy of the kpop industry on sexualizing bodies (especially women) but then, when they sexualize themselves or show some skin because of personal agency, it’s taken as something dirty or inappropriate. Also talks about how the nude body shouldn’t be purely sexual, and if the spectator sees it as such, they’re the dirty-minded ones. I’m sure it goes deeper but if you are interested I recommend checking the lyrics in detail (I understand in a reaction, hearing for the first time, seeing the mv, and then checking the lyrics, a lot of the times you can’t check it on detail so you miss stuff) loved the reactions!
Yup this is a perfect description of the song. The message for it is inspired by the quote (I'm not sure the actual words) in the lines of "I'd rather be hated for being me than something that I'm not". And Soyeon has pointed out many times that she doesn't believe the word Nxde is something vulgar. Because as she has always said, we were all born Nxde.
The Marilyn is a nod to sujin as well is only thing I’d add. I feel like this group feels like women with purpose to me. Soyeon is the single most impressive idol to me in the world. She had an incredible ear for playing with sound as if it’s a lyric in itself. And their music feels bigger and cinematic to me when they are at their best. My group is xg and I would be proud as hell to watch them all become soyeon in terms of autonomy and empowerment. But yeah they make the best kind of cinematic soundtrack to me…and everyone of them is maxed out in Soyeons production. The chorus is like a bond theme in oh my god.
nxde is a really amazing song, but also a very clever play on words,. in korean g-idle is written as 여자 아이들 (yeoja aideul) and the literal translation can be interpreted as yeoja (woman/girl) aideul (child/kid) so: yeoja aideul - (young/children) girls. the song being called nxde and written as nudeu (누드) in korean makes it so anybody in sk trying to search for pretty inappropriate things is instead met with g-idle's nxde instead, clearing the search engines to protect women/children! as well as the lyrics being full of self-empowering lyrics, it all-in-all is just a really out there song with a great powerful message!
Lion is a song that they did on the show Queendom (female version of Kingdom). The rapper is Soyeon, she is the leader of her group and the main songwriter, she just recently became a full member of the Korean Music copyright association. She is also the only female kpop idol to have complete creative contrived her group’s content. She is also (in my opinion) in the top 5 female rappers in all of Kpop. Basically she is the definition of a girl boss. Soojin was forced to leave the group after she was accused (probably falsely) of school bullying. That year several idols and actors were accused of school bullying, including Hyunjin from Stray Kids. Most of these accusations were leveled by internet trolls who were jealous and wanted to tear down their more famous classmates. Those celebrities whose companies were willing to fight for them were mostly proved innocent after the matter was investigated more thoroughly. (Hyunjin for example) but sadly Cube Entertainment was not willling to spend the money to fight for Soojin and she had to leave, although there have been rumors that (G)I-dle will leave Cube after their contracts expire and reunite with Soojin at another company. I don’t know if there is any truth to those rumors even though I would like to believe them.
To correct some of the information about the bullying cases (I've been a fan of both (G)I-dle and Stray Kids for years, so I followed those closely while they were happening) : Soojin was entirely innocent and just had a bad reputation (and was actually a victim of bullying herself, her school ended up testifying) ; but one of her accusers happened to be a famous actress known for her anti-bullying advocacy, so people believed that actress (who didn't actually name Soojin in her accusations, that's why it was hard to respond to her) rather than Soojin. Cube fumbled the PR around the scandal (like they always do, that company is a mess) and that's why Soojin's defense wasn't taken seriously, and she had to leave the group. Cube kept her signed until their initial defamation case was dismissed by Korean courts (for lack of conclusive evidence). Hyunjin on the other hand wasn't "proven innocent" at all, he admitted himself he was a little shit in middle school (like a lot of people), and there were a lot of verbal fights in his class. Some of the worst accusations (like the ones of physical violence) were firmly denied by JYPE, however for others Hyunjin met his former classmates accusers, apologized for his hurtful words, and his apologies were accepted (like, the accusers posted an update online after the fact). Let's not paint him as a pure innocent angel, when he's admitted himself to having been a far worse person at the time. A lot of Stays hate the fact that he couldn't participate in Kingdom because of the accusations, but the hiatus was IMO necessary because they just couldn't leave the group open to that kind of criticism during the show, and they weren't going to pretend nothing happened when Hyunjin himself posted an apology letter online.
@@ashurasama You're completely correct and thank you so much for bringing the facts in. I love it when people get the right information instead of believing what they hear from some fans just because they love their biases so much. Hyunjin is actually one of my biases from Stray Kids and Soojin was also my bias from (G)i-dle before she was forced to leave. Just another example of how CUBE entertainment fails to take care of their idols. On the other hand, I don't understand why certain fans have to bring up the past like that. I know that bullying is wrong and that it will always be wrong, but bringing up something like that which happened so many years ago is kind of also another form of bullying, at least in my opinion. Even if they did participate in such terrible manners; that person had to go through some form of change to get to the position that they're in right now. Also, I'd like for one person, just one, to admit they didn't do some sh*tty thing as a kid or teen (or say bad words of some kind which offended someone). I really doubt there is even one out there. I've gotten bullied when I was little probably a billion times, for numerous reasons (I'm from a different country, I speak a different language, my skin color, my hair, what I like doesn't match with my culture, I'm weird, I'm abnormal, etc. etc. etc. whatever you can think of, I've heard it), but all of that bullying made me so confused that I was literally going through numerous personality crisis'. At one point even I started sort of trying to change, trying to fit in with the populars, trying to hide what I liked because of the many times I was bullied for it, and unfortunately even I became somewhat of a bully myself. I didn't go the full mile like hitting some or abusing in any physical way, I was just verbally mocking one person because another girl was doing it. The best part about it is that, it makes the person who is being bullied stronger if they manage to stick up for themselves or if they get through it in their own way as well. Also, in my case, just because I was bullied countless times, that shouldn't have given me the right at all to go and bully someone right back. The good part is that when I realized it, I apologized to the person and we actually became pretty good friends afterwards. Point is, everyone has a history, everyone goes through sh*t, but life doesn't stop for you so you have to keep going one way or another. You have to get back up, however many times it takes, and you shouldn't have to look back in your history unless it's to correct some mistake you've made in the past that you want to correct in the present and future.
@@akiralynn8466so true! Whether it’s the bullied or the bully, people grow and change for the worse or the better and people really need to understand that. Everyone is going through stuff and (as that doesn’t excuse any bullying) it’s still needs to be understood that everyone has hard times, learn, and grow from them and that’s something that should be recognized more.
@@akiralynn8466 I get your point, but it’s important to hold people accountable for their past actions. In South Korea, most bullying is physical, even to the point of causing injuries and suicide, so it’s not something that can be easily dismissed. Some bullies don’t really change and refuse to be held accountable unless it hurts their reputation. For example, there was an actress who only apologized after becoming famous. Before that, the victim had tried to reach out for an apology, but both the actress and her agency ignored it. This is why most victims often turn to seek the attention of the media because they haven't received a proper apology. Also, many Korean dramas reflect real-life bullying. While they may seem exaggerated, they actually portray what victims go through. This is why it’s so important to address these issues seriously by holding them accountable instead of just moving on. Try reading this article to get more of an idea: www.cnn.com/2012/07/25/world/asia/south-korea-school-bully/index.html
Kingdom came after Queendom. So in order is Queendom, Road to Kingdom, Kingdom, Queendom 2, Queendom Puzzle and now Kingdom: Ace of Ace. For Soojin, since bullying allegations are taken very seriously in South Korea, even though they couldn't confirm anything, some people still don't like her over there. I'm just glad she became a soloist. And in some months we'll now what Gidle do with the contracts. Personally, I think they can pull a got7.
4:44 the blonde girl here is Soojin, she left the group in 2021 due to false allegations but she has returned as a solo act with 2 EPs so far, AGASSY and RIZZ
I find it funny that you have mentioned Lady Gaga throughout the music videos, because a top vocal coach from South Korea has actually mentioned Soyeon and one other idol (forgot their name) as well known western celebrities. And she said that Soyeon is like the Lady Gaga in the kpop world. 😂
Few women in modern k-pop sing such things. One of Gidle's past songs was even censored on national television for being too explicit. But Soyeon (the rapper and producer of the group) always insists that she will write songs about what worries her and her members, so she stands for the opportunity for women to openly talk about such things
Thank you for reacting to (G)I-DLE! They are definitely one of a kind. First of all self-produced girl groups are super rare in kpop and women really have to fight for creative control. (G)I-DLE had creative control since debut with their leader Soyeon writing and producing all title tracks. Soon after the debut Minnie and Yuqi also started writing and producing songs for the group's albums. Recently Miyeon started writing songs too. Second their topics are bold. (G)I-DLE is not afraid to break boundaries of kpop and Korean society. Nxde is a good example for that, it's not something you would see other groups releasing. It's a statement about the sexualization of women. Oh My God is another good example with the she/her pronouns in the song. Kpop and Korea are homophobic spaces, so releasing something like Oh My God is incredibly bold and progressive. They also talk about other important topics in some of their songs like Allergy, Queencard and Tomboy, just to name a few. But I don't wanna spoil anything for future reactions. Their music videos are another thing. I've never seen a kpop music video like Revenge for example. It's so unique, creative and high quality. Probably my favorite video by them, but it's hard to choose since all of their videos are fantastic. They never had a bad music video. It's really impressive. Soyeon is literally a genius since she's also very involved in video ideas and styling. She does basically everthing for the group. They all really stand behind the music they put out and they never stick to one style. They are experimenting with styles, genres and themes and I love that. Nobody is doing it like them
1:00 Minnie (Thai) 1:33 Soyeon (Leader & producer) 2:15 Yuqi (Female Felix, chinese) 2:57 Miyeon 4:02 Soojin (ex member, we still stan) 7:22 Shuhua! (maknae and my personal bias, taiwanese)
Soyeon, THE rapper, wrote and produced these 3 songs. She is a rapper first and the feel and rhythm of rapping is reflected in her instrumentals. The video "(G)I-DLE - 'Nxde' Recording Behind" shows her creating the song and coaching her members for their singing parts. It's a great look into Soyeon's process and personality and I would highly reccomend reacting to it. Great video! Looking forward to more (G)I-dle reactions!
as a gidle stan i suggest you to react to hann (alone), hann (alone in winter), and hwaa (in this order), as they follow a story line, and also some other sings like revenge, put it straight (nightmere version), uh-oh and superlady 🙏
Girl whose voice stands out to you (Minnie), The girl who you compared to lady Gaga (Soyeon) and the girl with the deep voice write and produce their songs.
6:39 Minnie! She's Thai and the one you said at this point was your favorite :) Interestingly enough 3 of 5 (current) members aren't Korean! People are going to rightfully recommend Queencard heavily and I'll agree with this but I would also like to add if you do so to please watch ALLERGY first, the MVs go directly together with Allergy being first! I'm also going to throw in 2 specific recommendations for Wife and My Bag (No MV, just a dance practice but I'm near positive you'll love it as a rap fan.) Thanks for reacting to my girls and proving to me subscribing was an even better idea than I already knew as a Stray Kids and G-Idle ult 😊
really appreciated how respectful and engaged u were with the music/music videos especially considering the meanings g-idle incorporates into their songs. ive seen a lot of reactors who make weird or rude comment just because they dont like the songs they react to. it was a breath of fresh air watching someone who really seemed to recognize and admire talent while having fun. hope to see more girl group content!
Yesss finally g-idle!!😊 i recommend ‘fate’ ‘i want that’ and ‘queencard’. (But react to allergy before queencard) I recently started stanning them so i dont know much and id love to learn more when watching ur reactions
The story of lion is cool. It was performed on a show called queendom, and one of the categories of performance was doing an original song. Their company came up with absolutely nothing for them, so soyeon wrote and produced lion in a night or two for them. She was inspired to write it coincidentally after watching lion king😂😂😂. They unfortunately didn't win queendom, but the performance got them a lot of attention and changed the direction of their music style!
about all their voices being distinct - the leader/rapper soyeon pushed to their label to get all the girls separate vocal coaches. i believe it was stated that they were starting to sound similar & soyeon wanted to preserve all of their unique qualities. they are a unique group from voices to concepts to music. they really have something for everyone. i hope you check more of them out !!
When you get the chance, watch Dingo's Killing Voice with (G)-Idle. It's live vocals and it shows their diversity. NO other girl group has live vocals like them. And you are right. They push that pedal to the metal and never let up, even with their slow songs. And Idle is all about pushing boundaries, making you think. Their major tracks always address an issue.
honestly all of their music is good in my opinion, it may be because i'm super fan😭 but you should definitely listen to TOMBOY, HWAA, Señorita or Queencard someday if you're interested in reacting to more of their work ♡ Great video btw!! Hope to see more :)
They are so diverse, and I love that you never know what to expect from them 🥰 I see people have offered time stamps but idk if you noticed during LION, the captions actually show you who’s singing every time it changes!
Idle almost always tackles the topics nobody else talks about. Not like other girl groups at all. And yes, Soyeon is the main producer and rapper of this group. And the mastermind behind their concepts. She has a message to share and she is not scared of the general K-pop industry’s rules, she speaks her mind through her music and performances. Her raps are what introduced me to K-pop years ago. I’d not have ever listened to Stray Kids 🤯😭 if it wasn’t for her being such a good rapper! Definitely looking forward to more Idle. There are some great behind the scenes videos of her directing the group during recordings etc. Interesting to see them in that light. She knows exactly what she wants from each member, and writes with their voices in mind.
time stamps for each member and things to remember them by cause i got nothing better to do 2:07 soyeon (girl with the throaty grunty lady gaga voice) 4:04 soojin (ex member) (the girl with the eye mole and undeniable aura) 14:21 minnie (the girl with the siren voice) 17:54 yuqi (the girl with the deep voice) 22:18 miyeon (the girl with the fancy, lazy and strong at the same time sounding voice) 25:14 shuhua (might not shine out a lot in songs but still has an amazing voice and if you watch other content she shines the most with the way she talks and her personality)
this has got to be one of the most respectful, thoughtful, and genuine reactions from male reactor i have seen! i love this! thank you for your reaction!
now you have to react to the trilogy genius soyeon has done 😂 -hann (alone) : going through a breakup -hann (alone in winter) : trying to forget the person -hwaa : finally letting go and blooming
The meaning of nxde is: They wrote this song about that every woman shouldnt be ashamed about her body and they Support the woman with this song to say... "dont be ashamed about something that everyone has"
(g)i-dle is a group who has full control of their creative direction and have some really important messages and themes, so it was cool to see you react to them! they stand strongly with female empowerment (like in lion, nxde, allergy, queencard, super lady, wife, etc.) which is something you don't see groups stick with for a while because of how conservative south korea is. they're one of the most influential groups with huge fanbases in korea and china especially. it's even more impressive when you realize they have three members who produce and the leader who has a hand in a large majority of their work. soyeon is the reason (g)i-dle debuted at all because when their company kept delaying their debut and not giving them a title track, soyeon just... made it herself. and it was a hit.
yay you reacted to (g)i-dle! i was really looking forward to seeing them. i love these songs (their older ones). if you're interested in seeing more of them, you can react their recent songs like super lady, queencard and klaxon. the style is a bit different though. the 6th member that left is soojin, and you can check out her songs!! they're really good too. us neverlands(fans) still support her a lot! thanks for this video!
Yes! Female groups rarely do this. I'm sure this isn't the first but I can count with 1 hand the many GG or Soloists who treaded this topic of sexualization in their songs. (G)I-DLE is one of the only 4th gen girl group to do so AFAIK. For Lee Hyori, her song Bad Girl is about how women should not be put down and sexualized for their choice of clothing and from their actions. So two. A soloist and a girl group but done differently and what's cool about these two songs are that they're self written by them. I love your reaction btw. It's rare to find male reactors who are very respectful when reacting to Nxde and is genuinely amazed with the (g)irls.
Great reaction, I'm glad you like their music. What makes them different from other groups beside thing you already saw is that they're self-produced, all their songs are written and produced by 3 of the members - Soyeon, Yuqi and Minnie (usually with help of other producers). For me it really makes music more authentic and I can appreciate it even more. My favourite Gidle sings are some of their b-sides, which are often really amazing, but I guess for now as you just start it's better to focus on songs with videos. So I recommend "Tomboy", "My Bag", and "FATE". My Bag and FATE are actually b-sides, however they are very popular, for My Bag there's choreography practice video and for FATE Live Clip (with only 4 members because 1 was sick when they had to record the clip), definitely worth to check them out. Btw FATE was top1 on korean charts for a very long time this year, which is amazing for b-side song.
Even if inside or outside, they are real no fake in their songs. You will love them more cause they are self-produced for their songs and participate in all productions such as chorography and M/V concept. Let's see their recording behind too.❤
When i heard him praising Lion's choreography i remembered how uniqie put it straight's (nighmate version) is. Im interested how he would react about their halloween customs and the choreography on the chorus. I also rememberd "Change" because of him liking the vocals and minnies voice
Always fun watching a newbie stumble upon the jaw-dropping talents of (G)I-dle. Since no one else has mentioned this and since you're really sensitive to the vocals, you should know that there's a recording bts video for several of Idle's songs including "Nxde" showing Soyeon and the members at work recording, and you're going to be blown away. All the vocal tricks and layerings you mentioned were deliberately created by Soyeon working with her members. Soyeon not only has every note and beat in her mind, but the inflections as well, and she writes to the member's voices knowing exactly how to place them and layer them. These are really masterclass lessons in music production and my guess is there's a lot of fifth gen idols studying them as well. You should also check out some of the docs on them, which details the members' stories and the early struggles Idle faced with Cube. Cube was so broke they kept delaying the debut of Idle because they didn't have a title song, so Soyeon finally went to hell with it and wrote their debut track, "Latata" which became a huge hit and started Soyeon as their songwriter/producer. The woman just has the most phenomenal "ear" in Kpop and can pick up the slightest difference in how a word or line is sung. As far as I'm concerned, no one can touch Idle. They're the ones setting the bar today...Welcome to Neverland...
Someone recommended Killing Voice here and it's great to show their variety! I'd also like to sugest My Bag since it's a full rap song and Villain Dies
The rapper, who has been rapping in all 3 of these songs, is Jeon Soyeon. She's a leader, producer, song writer, concept creator, mv director and mastermind of Gidle's discography. She wrote most, if not all, of Gidle's songs. You should really check them out, their newest EP is called I SWAY with the title track Klaxon.
if you want to react to more gidle i recomend tomboy, allergy and queencard (you should listen to them in this order cause they're connected) and super lady
Oooo good selections of songs! Gidle be bringing the heat and bangers always. I think besides XG tou reacted to itzy do this qould be the third girl group. I could be wrong! ❤ Gidle has 5 members Soyeon, Minnie, Miyeon, Yuqi and Shuhua they were 6 members with Soojin but shes now a soloist since she had to leave the group.
just an advice, you should listen to ALL their discography, like they're really amazing (no wonder why this is my fav group), especially songs like Revenge, Liar, Put It Straight (nightmare version), Uh-Oh and All night
Thank you so much for checking out my amazing ladies , each one is great in there own right , and Soyeon the leader ❤️ my personal bias with Miyeon my bias wrecker
They have an all english album “Heat” and the songs “I want that” and “I do” have MVs. You might want to watch Tomboy, Allergy and Queencard and their other songs Hann and Uh Oh and My Bag dance practice too but all their Bsides are great. Thank you for your reaction. Looking forward to more (G)I -dle content.
also about 'Nude', or at least what i remember about it; one of the top searches on the internet in korea amongst men were 'ideul nxde' meaning n@ked k!ds. now whenever someone tries to search it, this will be at the top first !! bcs (G)-IDLE & '이들 (ideul)' look/sound similar
They are so good! They have such unique concepts but the mv oh my god the one who had blond hair and was wearing purple her the one you said her voice is amazing her name is soojin! Unfortunately she got kicked out due to a false scandal but I definitely recommend her soloist debut agassy it's really good!!
You will not regret cheking their discography, learning the meaning of the song they have and ALSOO checking especially Yuqi solo songs, she have SOO many bangers.
G idle is among my top 5 all k pop female group out there, i really like their versatility, i really enjoy your reactions all the 3 songs, Lion was still my top tier among their songs, you should try the live verstion of Lion and Oh my God, i will share you a link to my next comment, if you could somehow react to them the better, but not really counting on it since live versions tend to be volatile in you tube channel, still will share it with you to enjoy them
yea it is kind of a taboo to sing a song this sensual but its not a first since old old kpop had a lot of sensual concepts but they still get heat from netizens for being too innapropriate or wtv
SKZ and G-Idle are my ult groups 🔥, the two of them produce the majority of their discography (skz more than G-Idle, it's like 99% for skz and 85/90% for G-Idle).
ohhhh (g)-idle!!! i really love these girls. seeing a lot of people already putting some information in the comments so just for some fun facts-- many stays/neverlands consider each other cousin fandoms!! loll, we love the self producing groups of 4th gen, much respect for them
you should check out their killing voice it’s amazing. also i love your reaction, i usually don’t like people’s reactions to girl groups because they focus a lot on the way the girls look not sound. So yeah i really appreciate your analysis :) Their b-sides are also amazing if you check out any album i am sure you’ll love it (my personal faves are HEAT, I never die, and TWO)
The girl whose accent you found cute also is soyeon! It’s a bit of a topic, tbh, but my personal take it that she plays it up for songs as a stylistic choice, even tho she has a noticeable accent when speaking a well.
Soyeon writes produces all their title tracks and most their songs she also does alot of the styling in the clothes and has complete creative control in the music videos she is also a very experience rapper and was on a rap show called "unpretty rap star" she actually was forced into the producer role due to their company neglecting to make a debut for them so she decided she will do it herself they were basically no funding she had to use a pirated service to make their debut and they had their concept pictures in a alley way but she and the other members got to a stage were they are regarded as one of the most popular and sucsessful girl groups in kpop!
You should definitely react to their Killing Voice video, their voices are amazing and their singing skills also! They are hilarious too! Also Soyeon the leader and rapper and the writer of these songs has adhd so that's maybe why her songs are like THAT. but anyway i enjoyed watching this!
And yeah as other people have said in the comments. Soyeon is the one who rapped in every song you listened to. She is their main rapper, their leader and she produces most of their music, comes up with their concepts, plays a huge role in creating their music videos, helps with costume design etc. She basically does everything for the group with the support of the other girls. And yeah nxde is not a common song type in kpop.
To answer your question, all of (G)I-DLE's songs are out of standard. You should listen to, "Queencard" and "Hwaa" and "I want that" and "Super lady" and "Senorita" next. If you like Soojin who was the 6th member, her songs, "Agassy" and "Mona Lisa" are amazing.
I really, really love (G)I-DLE! Please react to 'Tomboy,' 'Klaxon,' 'Super Lady,' 'Allergy,' 'Queencard,' 'Hwaa,' and 'Hann.' Also, please react to EXO too. Thank you!
gidle is a 5 member group but they were 6 sadly soojin is no longer in the group(the girl with the voice you liked in oh my god) but shes a soloist now if you want to hear more of her you can check out mona lisa anyways i think you will like gidle the more you listen to them i recommend listening to fate or tomboy or superlady ,their latest release is klaxon.
Soyeon was the one rapping in all 3 songs and I'd recommend listening to some more of her raps. I think she's definitely one of the best female rappers in k-pop. Specifically any of her raps from the group K/DA from League Of Legends (The Baddest if you want a specific one). And is this bad b****** number? has one of her coolest raps as well, it's from her solo album and features two other artists she specifically wanted on the track.
Okay let me suggest you more of (G)I-DLE Love rap? - My Bag - Wife Wanna see more of their colors? - Super Lady - Tomboy - Allergy + Queencard (These two are connected) - Revenge - I Want That (Full English song) - HWAA - Put It Straight (Only have Dance Practice, but you'll understand why)
No1: Gidle is a self Producing group No 2: They are the only group that can get a Perfect All Kill (PAK) for 4 songs in a row. The only Girl Group to have ever done it. No 3: They Leader (rapper) Soyeon is the only female Idol in Kpop History to have won Songwriter and Producer Award. She is also the only female Idol Group member to be a part of Korean Music Copyright Association (KOMCA). No 4: They have won 70 music show wins. Overall they are the 4th group to win most in Kpop History among female group. They are expected to be 3rd by the next comeback. Their achievement is so many thats why they are among the Biggest Female Group in Kpop History.

Its correct!! As a lyric say "im born nude" so its not weird showing skin until you think of it as weird
It’s not true
nxde is a really amazing song, but also a very clever play on words,. in korean g-idle is written as 여자 아이들 (yeoja aideul) and the literal translation can be interpreted as yeoja (woman/girl) aideul (child/kid) so: yeoja aideul - (young/children) girls. the song being called nxde and written as nudeu (누드) in korean makes it so anybody in sk trying to search for pretty inappropriate things is instead met with g-idle's nxde instead, clearing the search engines to protect women/children! as well as the lyrics being full of self-empowering lyrics, it all-in-all is just a really out there song with a great powerful message!
the person who wrote all these songs is "jeon soyeon" which means the person who raps!!
she won awards for best songwriter and best producer
To correct some of the information about the bullying cases (I've been a fan of both (G)I-dle and Stray Kids for years, so I followed those closely while they were happening) :
Soojin was entirely innocent and just had a bad reputation (and was actually a victim of bullying herself, her school ended up testifying) ; but one of her accusers happened to be a famous actress known for her anti-bullying advocacy, so people believed that actress (who didn't actually name Soojin in her accusations, that's why it was hard to respond to her) rather than Soojin.
She is solist now ❤❤❤❤ I can
I find it funny that you have mentioned Lady Gaga throughout the music videos, because a top vocal coach from South Korea has actually mentioned Soyeon and one other idol (forgot their name) as well known western celebrities.
What’s song ??
@@Bebe-qy9sm Wife
"five lady gagas" I already love you. Your reaction was so entertaining, thank you for giving our girls a view.
I recommend killing voice by (G)I-DLE!! You can see how different and unique their voices are💗✨
Thank you for reacting to (G)I-DLE! Nobody is doing it like them
1:00 Minnie (Thai)
1:33 Soyeon (Leader & producer)
2:15 Yuqi (Female Felix, chinese)
2:57 Miyeon
4:02 Soojin (ex member, we still stan)
7:22 Shuhua! (maknae and my personal bias, taiwanese)
female felix 😭😭 perfect comparison
Female Felix ! You had me, that's a perfect comparison ( Love Yuqi and Felix ♥ )
Miyeon gets no side note? I mean, you could've put that she's the oldest or something 😂😂
I need him to see this coment
@@tommyfoster9785 Miyeon's so beautiful and original that she's just "Miyeon" 🥰
You’re the only one to tell me the name of the girl i liked (minnie) 😂😭 THANK YOU
@@HawaiianMusicReacts You are welcome 😌
6:39 Minnie! She's Thai and the one you said at this point was your favorite :)
Interestingly enough 3 of 5 (current) members aren't Korean!
People are going to rightfully recommend Queencard heavily and I'll agree with this but I would also like to add if you do so to please watch ALLERGY first, the MVs go directly together with Allergy being first!
I'm also going to throw in 2 specific recommendations for Wife and My Bag (No MV, just a dance practice but I'm near positive you'll love it as a rap fan.)
Thanks for reacting to my girls and proving to me subscribing was an even better idea than I already knew as a Stray Kids and G-Idle ult 😊
really appreciated how respectful and engaged u were with the music/music videos especially considering the meanings g-idle incorporates into their songs. ive seen a lot of reactors who make weird or rude comment just because they dont like the songs they react to. it was a breath of fresh air watching someone who really seemed to recognize and admire talent while having fun. hope to see more girl group content!
Quite often, when I need a mood boost, I'll go to my Idle playlist, and it puts the smile back on my face every time.
Yesss finally g-idle!!😊 i recommend ‘fate’ ‘i want that’ and ‘queencard’. (But react to allergy before queencard) I recently started stanning them so i dont know much and id love to learn more when watching ur reactions
Queencard is the sequel to Allergy, though, so it makes a lot more sense if it's watched after that one!
@@just-a-generic-username ohhh, ur right!! Thank u for saying that :))
(G)I-DLE ?! Heck yeah !!
I highly recommend tomboy, super Lady, allergy and queencard
Aww i’m the first comment😭
Btw U definitely need to watch tomboy/super lady/queencard
Should watch allergy and queencard together since they are connected
When you get the chance, watch Dingo's Killing Voice with (G)-Idle. It's live vocals and it shows their diversity. NO other girl group has live vocals like them. And you are right. They push that pedal to the metal and never let up, even with their slow songs. And Idle is all about pushing boundaries, making you think. Their major tracks always address an issue.
honestly all of their music is good in my opinion, it may be because i'm super fan😭
but you should definitely listen to TOMBOY, HWAA, Señorita or Queencard someday if you're interested in reacting to more of their work ♡ Great video btw!! Hope to see more :)
17:04 not only is she a genius artist, she also produces most of their songs + has produced multiple others’ artist’s songs
She knows exactly what she wants from each member, and writes with their voices in mind.
time stamps for each member and things to remember them by cause i got nothing better to do
2:07 soyeon (girl with the throaty grunty lady gaga voice)
4:04 soojin (ex member) (the girl with the eye mole and undeniable aura)
14:21 minnie (the girl with the siren voice)
17:54 yuqi (the girl with the deep voice)
22:18 miyeon (the girl with the fancy, lazy and strong at the same time sounding voice)
25:14 shuhua (might not shine out a lot in songs but still has an amazing voice and if you watch other content she shines the most with the way she talks and her personality)
the one whose voice you said you liked in Oh my god is Minnie
this has got to be one of the most respectful, thoughtful, and genuine reactions from male reactor i have seen! i love this! thank you for your reaction!
now you have to react to the trilogy genius soyeon has done 😂
-hann (alone) : going through a breakup
-hann (alone in winter) : trying to forget the person
-hwaa : finally letting go and blooming
Honestly, Lion feels like an outro song in a movie, but some random fight scene is still playing
The meaning of nxde is:
They wrote this song about that every woman shouldnt be ashamed about her body and they Support the woman with this song to say... "dont be ashamed about something that everyone has"
(g)i-dle is a group who has full control of their creative direction and have some really important messages and themes, so it was cool to see you react to them! they stand strongly with female empowerment (like in lion, nxde, allergy, queencard, super lady, wife, etc.) which is something you don't see groups stick with for a while because of how conservative south korea is.
they're one of the most influential groups with huge fanbases in korea and china especially. it's even more impressive when you realize they have three members who produce and the leader who has a hand in a large majority of their work. soyeon is the reason (g)i-dle debuted at all because when their company kept delaying their debut and not giving them a title track, soyeon just... made it herself. and it was a hit.
yay you reacted to (g)i-dle! i was really looking forward to seeing them. i love these songs (their older ones). if you're interested in seeing more of them, you can react their recent songs like super lady, queencard and klaxon. the style is a bit different though. the 6th member that left is soojin, and you can check out her songs!! they're really good too. us neverlands(fans) still support her a lot! thanks for this video!
villian dies is a good song too!
you really chose some of (g)i-dle's most artistic and powerful songs to start haha! what a start
The girl with the soft voice is Minnie her vocal is amazing
(G)I-DLE ! Their Music Videos are insane !
if you want to react to more gidle i recomend tomboy, allergy and queencard (you should listen to them in this order cause they're connected) and super lady
Their Heat album is very good too!
... and all the songs are in English!
They are coming to the States! Get yo tickets!
Seeing them next week in NYC! Can’t wait
(G)idle!! Thank you for the reaction!!
The voice soprano is soyeon líder and genius musical
first time in this channel. Absolutely love your energy and blind reaction. keep going buddy
They are the best of this generation. Nothing can stop them....
Where did you get this information from?
PLEASEEEEE WE NEED MORE (G)I-DLE REACTIONSSS🙏🙏🙏
Hope you react to other song of them soon. They're freaking amazing fr 💓
GOATS as a rap fan read Soyeons lyrics for all their songs, her pen game is insane. Soyeon writes 95% of their music and its like poetry
Being into Kpop since 2008 imma say they are my top 1 favorite group of all time
SKZ and G-Idle are my ult groups 🔥, the two of them produce the majority of their discography (skz more than G-Idle, it's like 99% for skz and 85/90% for G-Idle).
ohhhh (g)-idle!!! i really love these girls. seeing a lot of people already putting some information in the comments so just for some fun facts-- many stays/neverlands consider each other cousin fandoms!! loll, we love the self producing groups of 4th gen, much respect for them
oh some fun songs could be hann (alone), uh-oh (personal fav), queencard!!!
MY FAV GP!! you def have to check out tomboy, i want that, my bag, hwaa, and many other songs cause they slay every concept
you should check out their killing voice it’s amazing. also i love your reaction, i usually don’t like people’s reactions to girl groups because they focus a lot on the way the girls look not sound. So yeah i really appreciate your analysis :) Their b-sides are also amazing if you check out any album i am sure you’ll love it (my personal faves are HEAT, I never die, and TWO)
oh my god is truly an inspired piece of work
All songs writte and producer by the leader rapper, and she akali and ahri (Soyeon-Miyeon) are members in K/DA songs
4:02 PRAISE, HE DIDNT LIE SOOJIN SLAYED
The main rapper soyeon also wrote almost all of their songs and writes all of her own raps
You should try listing to Uh-oh- total 90s hip hop vibe. Also if you want to know about Soyeons rap abilities than Bad bitch number and/or Psycho
As far as I know, Soyoen - the one who raps - holds the record for the fastest rap as a female in K-Pop, you should check it out
She lost it. That title now belongs to Sunhye from Young Posse in her XXL verse. Btw Sunhye also writes her own lyrics.
And yeah nxde is not a common song type in kpop.
they are best girl group and self-made group
To answer your question, all of (G)I-DLE's songs are out of standard. You should listen to, "Queencard" and "Hwaa" and "I want that" and "Super lady" and "Senorita" next. If you like Soojin who was the 6th member, her songs, "Agassy" and "Mona Lisa" are amazing.
More Gidle, all songs are so different types, please check -- my bag, change, bloom, fate
I really, really love (G)I-DLE! Please react to 'Tomboy,' 'Klaxon,' 'Super Lady,' 'Allergy,' 'Queencard,' 'Hwaa,' and 'Hann.' Also, please react to EXO too. Thank you!
Hope you'll check out more of (G)i-dle
Yaaaay, Minnie is my favourite, too (at 06:30)
They are my Queens, and we love them. Welcome to Neverland. =)

From the moment the chorus starts, they dance as if they were going to take off their clothes, that's why they say "Baby, how do I look?" ♥
I love your reaction
Look at the Queendom stage. You can see these guys' abilities. Soyeon made the stage too.
The title of the video should have been “Rap fan turned to K-pop fan (thx G-idle)” 😂
gidle is a 5 member group but they were 6 sadly soojin is no longer in the group(the girl with the voice you liked in oh my god) but shes a soloist now if you want to hear more of her you can check out mona lisa anyways i think you will like gidle the more you listen to them i recommend listening to fate or tomboy or superlady ,their latest release is klaxon.
4:04 soojin
8:22 just smth curious, this is latin for "from the bottom of my heart"
Soyeon was the one rapping in all 3 songs and I'd recommend listening to some more of her raps. I think she's definitely one of the best female rappers in k-pop. Specifically any of her raps from the group K/DA from League Of Legends (The Baddest if you want a specific one). And is this bad b****** number? has one of her coolest raps as well, it's from her solo album and features two other artists she specifically wanted on the track.
Okay let me suggest you more of (G)I-DLE
Love rap?
- My Bag
- Wife
Wanna see more of their colors?

- Revenge
- I Want That (Full English song)
- HWAA
- Put It Straight (Only have Dance Practice, but you'll understand why)
