I wouldn’t call it suspenseful. I’d call it somber. We know that we’re likely never seeing any of these characters again. Sam is lost to the Dark Aether. It’s the closing chapter of a book. It’s not a cliffhanger… until Richtofen. It’s just the end. The end of those characters. The end of this game.
I honestly thought the guy in Japan at the end was going to somehow be one of the tree remaining original characters Dempsey takeo or Nikolai lol but nah
what a perfect way to blend the themes of cold war, intelligence, government espionage, with the zombies lore. i haven't been following the storyline as faithfully as I used to but I definitely want to now that activision is actually giving it a budget again
Facts, I mean the story so far has been very bland / uninteresting. Trust me u missed nothing. This gets me so hype for the next blops. Imagine the next crew is weaver carver grey and Strauss, that would be dope

Such a melancholic yet eerily cheerful ending for a Zombies map, this is probably the most jaw dropping moment in modern COD since BO4’s Zombies ending

I hope we get to see more of Weaver, Carver, Gray and Strauss in the future. Especially Strauss. That he was the one most resistant to the arrest speaks volumes to his character and his backstory at the Endstation facility is one I’m super curious. I hope they come back to those four, maybe even just make them the playable characters in the future.
I did quite enjoy the requiem leads and or advisors of team requiem. It wasnt a bad way to fill the void of our near silent protagonists that are the operators. Poor Strauss though. He was so passionate about his work, and then seeing him discarded like trash was just heartbreaking.
The mute protagonists not commenting on the environment or literally anything going on around them really cheapens this zombies installment. The best/only "zombies" related comments I've heard was from Captain Price talking about juggernog and a couple others.

I actually love this ending. It's not a "HURRR GOOD GUYS WIN" one. The US and the CIA are just as bad as the Soviet Union and their KGB. No one wins. The Zykov twist was really poorly written though. It was just so obvious.
I won't lie seeing Grey, Strauss, and Carver being captured was like "Damn...." Grey Being Surprised, Carver seemed Understanding, Strauss was Pissed just like another Nazi Scientist I know lmao....Dr. Peck Idc but still cool nonetheless.

I honestly liked this zombie mode. It was familiar enough to jump back into but they managed to also add so many little things that it felt new at the same time. I didn’t mind using operators with requiem being the narrator. Honestly it felt like a callback to the first zombie map.
Calling it now, Eddie plans to do something evil with the power of the Dark Aether. He trapped Carver, Grey, Strauss, Raptor 1 & the team inside "SOPHIA" with the Dark Aether and dropped it in the Marianas Trench. Thats where Peck pointed on the map & his "old friends" are the team stuck inside "SOPHIA" at the bottom of the ocean. He going to rescue them because he knows that Eddie has a plan (project janus). I dont think we'll see the continuation until Treyarchs next game in 2023.

Well janus in ancient roman religion and myth is the god of beginnings, so they’re probably stating that the story has just begun and the project involves a lot more than what has happened in the past 4 maps. However we got forsaken today at the start of season 6, which is a bit suspicious to me, so i think we’re either getting a dlc 5 or some sort of continuation before vanguard drops or vanguard will have to somehow continue the storyline which will be finicky to say the least
They're both garbage in my opinion, and I'm not even gonna buy Vanguard to find out what happens. They had so much potential with zombies this time around and just ruined it.

At the part where our operators get stopped at the hangar- I remember saying something along the lines of “nah we could fight our way out of that situation.” Here after the Terminus trailer, and I’m excited to see the Dark Aether story continue.
Theory: => Vanguard is the continuation of the Dark Aether. The old friends could be referring to the the Requiem chiefs (Grey Carver Strauss and Weaver). Kravchenko will receive bad reputation from USSR government and that's leads to BO2 being canon or retconned. The Requiem chiefs will be playable in the next game and they will be free. I care a lot about Weaver cuz he saved the day in bo1 with Mason and defeated the Forsaken with the team, he dont deserve that. Ravenov and Raptor one are living normal life. We can see them accomplishing their mission.

If you watched the MCU movies i like to see the dark aether as the quantum realm, time goes by slower in there, but can also go back in time with it

Well janus in ancient roman religion and myth is the god of beginnings, so they’re probably stating that the story has just begun and the project involves a lot more than what has happened in the past 4 maps. However we got forsaken today at the start of season 6, which is a bit suspicious to me, so i think we’re either getting a dlc 5 or some sort of continuation before vanguard drops or vanguard will have to somehow continue the storyline which will be finicky to say the least

Why did Cold War have to end the second it was getting amazing , forsaken is one of the best maps in years , and the ending cutscene is too
Mauer was a pretty good map as well but I prefer Forsaken for the amount of side quests alone.
This was a great ending to the zombies storyline on this game. The multiplayer may have been absolute crap but at least zombies made up for it.
They're both garbage in my opinion, and I'm not even gonna buy Vanguard to find out what happens. They had so much potential with zombies this time around and just ruined it.

Theory:
=> Vanguard is the continuation of the Dark Aether. The old friends could be referring to the the Requiem chiefs (Grey Carver Strauss and Weaver). Kravchenko will receive bad reputation from USSR government and that's leads to BO2 being canon or retconned. The Requiem chiefs will be playable in the next game and they will be free. I care a lot about Weaver cuz he saved the day in bo1 with Mason and defeated the Forsaken with the team, he dont deserve that. Ravenov and Raptor one are living normal life. We can see them accomplishing their mission.

i swear to all that is holy, from the exact second (2:49) richtofen showed up i was saying "that's not richtofen" over and over getting louder and louder until he eventually turned around, my watch gave me a bpm of 144.

Are you sure that its sam and eddie in the picture at 3:05? If so im guessing the boy died wich in turn drove them apart. Richtofen wants to revive the boy, since janus is a god and has a connection to rebirth i think, sam is agaisnt it out of fear thta something could go wrong/her powers could stop the project. Now she is trapped in the aether and he can get to work
