I have the S20 Plus, S22 Ultra, and S24 Ultra. After four years, the battery health on the S20+ is 80%. After two years, the S22U is at 92%. Both those older phones will last a full day on battery.

I have s23U and the camera could be better , specially selfie. The colors are more natural on pixel. As everything, you can't have all at once. It's a trade off where you give something and get something.

And the big deal is the price difference. The S24 is more expensive. Also you pay for the scam variant with Exynos the same as for the Snapdragon. 2nd one has much better performance.
You do know that tensor is built on the same processing node and "wafer" as Samsung exynos right? Plus this year's exynos was not that bad best I have seen so far

I love your tests, all of them, keep up the good work. But I have a little bit different experiencies with the S24 Exynos in Hungary. Any problem with the modem. Stable 5G, even inside. So the battery drain is not bad neither, not at all. Quite simililar to my S23, all day long (OK, Gen 3 is much better, but less than 20 %, more likely 10). For now the overheating is over too. I used them parallel, and I choosed the S24. Much better phone if you're not a gamer. Smoother in daily use, better display, camera etc. (except the colour banding, but that depends on the OneUI.). And with the May patch it's almost perfect to me. You're harsh to the Exynos 2400, but OC an unfair decision from the Samsung.

I was under the impression that the pixel 8 is bigger and thicker than the s24 but it doesn't look in the video. Am I wrong? Thanks to Tanya for helping us out with the camera!
I've been using Samsung for the past 5 years (currently have an S10+) and now I'm about to purchase a Pixel 8 or 8a. However, I'm afraid to regret after. 😅😬
I almost went with a pixel 8 Pro, but I ended up with the s24+. The pixel might be able to produce better content all around, but they seem to suffer from an early adopter effect of bugs and glitches. My s24+ isn't perfect, but it doesn't have the same kind of bugs. That's more important to me in the Long run
You can edit the icons at the bottom in the S24 camera and add more shortcuts to different functions so that you don't have to hit 'more' to get to those functions. Thanks for the useful, well produced video. Also, thanks to Tanya for sharing her great voice with us!
For every video like this it would be fantastic no matter how stupid it may seem if you could include signal test or just do a check every now and again on which maintains better signal

how is exynos a later gen chip if it's a little out performed by the p8 ? Sounds like the P8 has done a good job with the chip (even if it's not quite the snapD gen2)
@@dr.noscopegaming630 Screen resolution doesn't do anything regarding battery life, proven by many videos as well as on my own. Screen brightness isn't a huge factor, the Pixel 8 Pro screen is insanely efficient, it's around 3W at max manual brightness (around 990 nits) and around 5W for max auto brightness (around 1450 nits 100 % window) The big culprit is Tensor, which gets beyond warm even with Wi-Fi and moderate usage. Tensor 3 consumes way too much power even in simple tasks and throttles immediately when the battery, which is always the sensor used in such tests, reaches 38 degrees, then at 40 and finally at 45, everything beyond is absolutely killing the phone.
@@lordvader3697 Amazing, I still, even after the June Update, don't get more than 5-6 hours SOT. On 5G it's less than 4h. My 8 Pro got around 50 degrees on 5G a few days ago, didn't last long because it shut the network down and dimmed the display so much that I couldn't record any video anymore.
@alexandruciordas4941 really? I easily got 9 hours screen on time out of my s23+, and I get 9-10 out of my s24+. I even get 21 hours of total battery life some days on my s24
Ho sia il pixel 8 che s24 e posso dire che il pixel sulle foto con camera principale fa' delle foto molto piu dettagliate e naturali di s24. Sopratutto s24 brucia le zone troppo illuminate ed oscura troppo quelle in ombra. Anche con poca luce senza attivare la modalità notturna il pixel cattura tutto in modo nitido e dettagliato e senza rumore, s24 é sensibilmente inferiore in tutto. Difatti sto pensando di venderlo anche se per tutto il resto mi soddisfa piu del pixel.
Per quanto riguarda i selfie il samsung è un gradino sopra ma non si nota sempre, mentre per la cam principale è due gradini sotto e si nota sempre se vai a fare lo zoom della foto. Per i video, ne faccio pochi, ma direi che sono alla pari.

Even though I really like Google phones (I'm an android dev so I need one), I don't always recommend it to my friends. I always felt Google quality control is lacking. They are at the end a software company and not specialized in hardware.

Any type of battery degrade by: heat, number of charging cycles, and time. Often, when they hit 100 battery life cycles they lose 5-10 percent of their capacity, but it's hard to say since there are many other factors

Stopped watching as soon as you said that pixel's got android 15. I'm a samsung fan, but comparing against a pixel 8 running beta software is unfair to the pixel :(
Samsung has the better device. The colors in the photos are more accurate and true to scene, and the display does not tint green in dark mode. And Samsung has AmbientEQ on all their devices. If you want an android device, Samsung is the only viable option.
That's the point, S24 w Snapdragon is available only in few countries. To me, testing with Exynos makes much more sense (since in most countries, including mine, it is only available version of S24).

Samsung already had the split screen app setup. You can add it in the Edge Panel, since Galaxy S10 been using TH-cam with Chrome

I paid $350 for my Openbox pixel 8. The cheapest used S24 I can find is over $430.

It makes more sense with Exynos, especially because the Tensor chips on the Pixels are basically Exynos chips customised for Google.
There is huge performance gap in those two versions. Like I've seen videos where the exynous version dies and the sd version still have 16% of juice.
