I'm Japanese and have just started to study Spanish on my own. Your videos are very informative and helpful! I subscribed to you already! Nice work!!!
I stumbled on your videos recently. I plan to ravel in central america for couple of months this october, and am finding this a very good way to refresh my very basic spanish I learnt more than 10 yrs ago Thanks...
I really like these videos! They're really clear and concise! These really cleared things up for me! Thanks! :D
This helped me a lot with Spanish...THANK YOU SENOR JORDAN!!!
Hola Senor..
My name's Ersan. I'm from Indonesia. I'm interested in studying Spanish now. I've been learning the languge for just one month. I find your videos useful. Muchas gracias, senor!
Fantastic lessons. You are so ordenado.! Great new hair cut in this video....I was waiting for this cut exactly ! grasias Kali Dev
THANK YOU, i am a school student and i am 10 years old and also learning spanish in school so this helps a lot! gracias
You are 18 years old now !
It was super easy to understand. Thank you! I genuinely want to learn this beautiful language, and you've made it a lot simpler.
I was forced to do this
same
I don't think he was trying to offend you or anyone in any way. He was more or less trying to say that it isn't commonly used in the US which is where he lives and about 98% of his viewers also live. Therefor,he wasn't going to spend too much time reviewing it. Besides I think he got the just of it. I learned a lot. I didn't understand it when my teacher was explaining it today. :-)
Spanish doesn't tend to capitalize things as much as we do in English.
yo is simply 'yo'
You can use "Ustedes" instead of "vosotros-as" and even if you are in spain people will understand you. 90% of the spanish speakers in the world use "ustedes" form and only "10%" of the speakers (only in spain) use "vosostros" form. In latin america we study "vosotros" form at primary school, but we never use it in our regular life. If someone in latin america speaks you with "vosotros" form people will look to you like a weird person unless you are from spain. I hope this info will help you ;)
25,000 girls is not what I expected. Learning Español in your channel is so much fun!
Happy to hear that!
Muy bien explicado !! Explicas muy bien , soy de españa
very helpful lesson for me
It's simply to explain the concept to students who have no concept of gender with words, because English has long since lost word gender.
I'm not making a judgment call on all Spanish speakers being macho. I'd be ignorant and erroneous to attempt something to that effect.
You GOt TheM BiG MUscLeS DUdE
Awesome lesson, Señor Jordan.
María Scearce ¡Gracias!
Hey these vids are great and it is especially good to kno you are still active and posting. Thanks very much.
BLEACH IS MY FRIEND :)
Some accents pronounce the "y" and the "ll" differently. You might hear those as a "j" sound or at times even as kind of a "sh" sound.
Im glad i found ur videos i'll be learning few spanish phrases from now on :D i love ur videos...! and now i am learning 4 languages :)
greetings!
from Philippines!!
thanks , this is really helpful
I live in CA and my instructor is from Spain and he gives us a few tips on the derivative of the language but focuses on the South American pronoun cation because the majority of the Spanish spoken in our area is from South America. He does have some really cool tips on the overlapping/influences from the Islamic languages. It is a harder way to learn because I keep getting mixed up with all the extra information, but hopefully I'll figure it out.
yep.
I'm pretty sure I explain the reason I don't use vosotros in the video. I use 'ustedes' for "you (plural)" as most of the Spanish speaking world does.
TENEMOS = WE HAVE (e.g. "tenemos" dos perros = we "have" two dogs) OR WE ARE (e.g. Pedro y yo "tenemos" veintinueve años = Pedro and I "are" twenty-nine years old), ("tenemos" calor = we "are" hot). Hope it helps!
@tontitofrito it's ok the way you explain it , we still use "nosotros" in all hispanic countries, even if there is only a guy included not matter if the majority are girls, if you use nosotras its like if you were excluding the guy and it's not that we are machistas it is just the way the language works just as u said it :) but if u want to u can also say ellas y él
gracuis senor para espanol lesson
nosotros --> we, us
1. just males
2. males and females
nosotras --> we, us
1. just females
De nada. :-)
Thank you for sharing sweetie and spending time to make it so easy for us. Your humble teaching is easy to understand, it is my memory ;p
I wish I can take YOUR class...your really good...I would pay to get this info from you...
just what i was looking for! muchos gracias, buddy!
my spanish teacher played this today
I know you did, but what I wanted to know, while you don't use vosotros, do you also use "ustedes" with your children, your little students.. etc?
8 months later, yes, but I agree.
Should sleep atm but it's so interesting
gracias. Soy de Thailande.
Thank you so much you are such a help!
im trying to test out of french to get into spanish because my school is filled with black people and hispanics, and in order for me to do that i have to learn basic spanish. your really helping me out alot so thank you! but can you start speaking both feminine and masciline plz? thanks!
I'm sorry Mr. Landaverde, you are wrong. Viva México!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Life saver! I'm going to ease through Spanish class with the help of your videos.
Thanks! Great video!
@IMoonLights
I'm glad you're finding my videos helpful! I teach in Missouri.
Ms Laguna recommend this video thx miss
: )
THANKS A LOT! MUCHAS GRACIAS!!!
Ok thanks. and thanks for the vidoes
That's interesting about the male dominating language. It reminds me of how in English when we want to say "you all" informally, we say "you guys", and that's true whether the people we are talking to are male female or a mixed gender group. I don't know if this is said all over the US, but I'm in the west and I hear it often.
If i am a girl, and i joined a group of girls then it would be yo+ellas=nosotras, right?
¡Perfecto! Muy bien. :-)
Hi the vids are super helpful! Couldn't fit Spanish into my school schedule so I'm trying to survive an online class this semester. i was just wondering how you would say the plural of tú if you weren't going to use vosotros.
Thanks loads!
Very helpful video
very helpful
saw you in ms.mason spanish class
25,000 girls to one guy
lucky man
Again I find your videos helpful! I don't find it necessary for those to criticize and use frases descorteses como "find it retarded..." necesarias - lets be mature here and see the value in the entire video! Sr. Jordan clearly explains why he isn't using it - its 'his' reality for 'his' classroom. My students in Tanzania are learning loads from my wordpress blog where I link several of tus videos - address is latamaritabonita - MUCHAS GRACIAS =) Sra. T
That hair line look like a mcdonalds French fry
HIS HAIRLINE
I commented his hairline looks like a big mac
wa changgggg
gracias!
Great Job
@landaverde87
To clarify, do you mean to say that it is common for people to use ellos/ellas/nosotros/nosotras depending on the majority of the people in the group?
My wife curiously just uses "nosotros" for all times even if they are all women. I think this is a small town tendency since she is from a small town in Mexico. ¿Qué te parece?
Missouri???? they have Spanish speaking communities in Missouri.
Are you going to get into the advanced stuff like subjunctive, future, etc. Thanks
The vosotros form has its own conjugation... I usually put it in annotations on the older videos and I am including it in the newer videos. ;-)
@41cookiesbabe
"tús" doesn't exist...
"tu" / "tus" mean "your"
"tus" is "your" when talking about more than one thing:
tu amigo = your friend
Tus amigos = your friends
Mil gracias.
recorded using a calculator
+Joe Cote actually, if memory serves, I used baking soda, a straw and duct tape.

Hello,,
I have to learn the castillian Spanish,,
So using vosotros can I conjugate like when using ustedes??
Thanx in advance.
Ustedes for America.
awsome
POV your here from a Spanish class
:33> This video was very helpful for me in Spanish class! Keep up the great work.
@andrewao I can say the same for Bogota Spanish lol!!
i woud never use "tu". instead i would say vos for friends and usted for parents.
Why do you neglect the country from where the language came from?
@popciclelover
you might watch my videos on -ar verbs... but basically what person (yo, tú, él, ella, usted, nosotros, vosotros, ellos, ellas, ustedes) goes with "busco" (and the end -o tells us who that person is)
i my native language we use the usted form {formal for you} so this was pretty easy
¿has visto el video? Sí lo menciono.
this really helped =) graciass!! XDD i need 2 show my teacher this video she would love itt
Awesome job(:
