Well, I spent the entire week preparing for my world exam and only really started studying (outside of class) for Lang yesterday. surprisingly, I feel prepared
@@MarcoLearning It went very well! My teacher prepared me very nicely, I am just hoping I hit the nail on the head and didn't give out any misreads. Thank you again! :)
If you need free tutoring help for ap world you can ask me, I got a 5 for apush and 4 for ap world (I didn’t take the class and I just started studying a couple days before, but I still know a lot about world history and can help you), I also helped a kid who was writing dbqs worth around 2-3 points and the dbq he just wrote was worth at least a 5-6, after I helped him
So for the ways you can’t get the sophistication point, do you have to try to avoid all of those. So for example if I make sweeping generalizations but I connect the rhetorical choices among each other, will I still get the point?
In theory, you could still earn the point. Some of this hard to speculate about because this rubric has never been used on AP Exams before. At the readings this year, the readers will figure out how they will assign or not assign points.
I have like a week and a half for my exam because it's on May 12th, and I'm so scared, like I'm sooooo scared and nervous lol, feel like I'm gonna lose my mind lmaoo
Could we only talk about 1 rhetorical device for each paragraph, but make them lengthy detailed paragraphs(2)? Would I still get at least 3 points for the evidence part?
It's about the nuance of the rhetorical situation. The sophistication point can be awarded for the development and support of a particularly complex argument. Does that make sense?
It's a good place to discuss some of the complexities or tensions in the passage, but only write a conclusion if you have the time. Focus on getting good evidence and commentary and developing your argument.
Something about your mannerisms and the way you speak is so nice, I literally just want to watch you talk all day
Thank you!!

I feel like number 1 on the list of things that get you the point looks like a response to the prompt, how is it different?
It's about the nuance of the rhetorical situation. The sophistication point can be awarded for the development and support of a particularly complex argument. Does that make sense?
Marco Learning yes thank you
So the sophistication point is equivalent to the complex understanding point in ap European history
It’s definitely comparable.
Watching this 10 minutes before the exam
👀
Totally not cramming two days before the exam….
Do we need to do a conclusion?
No! If your essay comes to a natural end, it’s not necessary.
It's a good place to discuss some of the complexities or tensions in the passage, but only write a conclusion if you have the time. Focus on getting good evidence and commentary and developing your argument.
Can you write in first person, mainly pronouns we and i
It's better if you don't. It won't be a sophisticated essay otherwise :P.
He already answered this question in the other video because he replied to you
You can occasionally use the first person, though we recommend that you use third-person pronouns for this kind of analytical writing.
very last minute comment but do you think I could get a 5 and not earn the sophistication point?
Yes, in theory that would be possible, but we won’t know until after all the exams are scored this year.
It’s one minute before the exam starts🤠
How was your exam?
Marco Learning with all your help i feel like I did pretty well-ish. I think I may have jumbled my rhetorical device a little, but overall good.
HAHAHAHAHA!!!! YES!!!!
