  • Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) defense former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz: "There's some irony to a non-coffee drinking Mormon conservative defending a Democrat candidate for president in perhaps one of the most liberal companies in America. It’s somewhat rich that you’re being grilled by people who have never had the opportunity to create a single job. And yet they believe that they know better how to do so."

An excellent economic Bill to write our Congressman or Senator is to install a limitation or Constitutional Amendment on a maximum total taxation of the citizen of 10% excluding social security. No more than 3% federal income tax after deductions. No more than 4% state sales tax and/or state income tax combined. No more than 3% local taxes town/city/county combined. Homeowner property tax and the land it's on outlawed. Inheritance tax outlawed. Along with the Bill or on another Bill - All citizens, perminant residents, and native American indians will be awarded $150,000 after 120 months of full time work, part time and volunteer work included in the sum total. People here in the U.S. on work visa's shall be awarded $65,000 after the 120 months of work. These are granted and not loans. On a continuous basis and along with the Bill - All citizens, perminant residents, and native American indians shall be awarded $400,000 in a lump sum after 180 months of full time work, part time and volunteer work included in the sum total, whether collecting social security or not. People here in the U.S. on work visa's will be awarded $150,000 after the 180 months of work. These are granted, not loans. The printing and issuance of money is validated by labor, production, goods or services for people. Now the citizen or resident can start a business if they choose, thereby serving their town and also producing tax revenue for the country. On another Bill - A requirement on U.S. Banks to pay their depositers at least 90% of all interest collected, according to the average monthly or quarterly account balance, because it is the depositers money that was loaned out to begin with. The government shall also adjust each account according to the inflation rate every quarter or year put out by the U.S. Department of Labor. Or the government can pay the U.S. Banks the monthly or quarterly inflation rate for services rendered, of which is normally paid to the depositers.

@@johnnyjet3.1412 his business model was to take over distressed companies with high potential because that would allow him to buy the company dirt cheap, fix the problems, and sell it for a massive profit, because that would generate the highest return. When you take over companies that are already distressed, you’re going to have some fail because sometimes they’re just too far gone to be saved. Only 25% of the many companies he invested in failed. If he had bought companies that were already thriving, it would be much more expensive and have little upside for profits. He also started that firm that employs 1,200 people and pays them very well. I tend to agree with this perspective. Entry level jobs aren’t necessarily meant to be a career. Unions can sometimes demotivate people who strive for more, by packaging up their job as a checklist and compensating them the same as everyone else regardless of productivity

It's great to create jobs because jobs need employees and vice versa; it's a financial symbiotic relationship. However, people should get raises for their hardwork and have the right to unionize if they so desire. Unfortunately, for most working Americans (i.e., the middle and lower SES groups) are being financially held down due to economic stagnation (e.g., low wages, lack of salary increases), etc.
