Agree with you there Brian Day! Lots of hate towards the wood as its a soft wood, but I love the stuff keeps the house warm and the family fed! Can't ask much more from a soft wood👍👍
Great honest review- I’ve got an ECOPRO300 and love it, I still feel that the end user of all Chinese made equipment is the quality control- not the company. But Range Road has been great to deal with. Keep up the good work! All the best, Jeff

When starting a firewood business, you have to start with a budget (often small) if that means buying a cheap Chinese machine, then it’s ok. As the business grows you can then justify a more expensive machine. Too many people spends thousands of bucks to start with, then don’t have enough customers (selling products) then goes bust. Great video
100% agree there! Start small and expand as you grow. I should definitely start to expand but happy with my purchase as it works just fine still for what we put out👍 Cheers

That's correct, they are the ones I deal with as I'm about 40 min away from there yard👍
The ones I sell which are very the same as North forest can cut upto 45 CM 18 inch , but not a lot of fun if you do as you will be resplitting very large chunks 12-14 inch is perfect and if it was straightish and you have a log deck which I sell you could expect reasonable quick processing , but with processors there is always something loosening or blocking up or the ram , rams the wood into the conveyor with 20 T of force and the welds break .

Hey definitely a great unit for price point. Can pay themselves off pretty quickly. And for parts. Not to sure on that. As most come from China. You can order parts though from Range Road enterprise. Online of course. But nothing on the parts to indicate what specs are.. sorry I can't be more helpful there. If need be can make a video of the unit more up close. Cheers 👍🪵🪓

You can get the bigger Range-Road processor, but only in Canada if I was informed correctly.

I have a newer version of his with a table and a log lift. I have been averaging a cord an 1 1/2 hour 3:42 depending on the wood. If it’s all under 14 in I can get an cord an hour. It has been worth the investment.

Asking the Range-Road EcoPro300 to do stuff bigger than 12in hardwood all day long is asking too much of it. But keep the wood in the 12in max diameter size and it should hold up nicely as long as you are not hard on equipment. My commercial grade log splitter costs as much as a loaded up EcoPro300, but will last a lot longer. Thst longevity is because it is built to do one job: split firewood. The more you ask a machine to do, the lower quality to stay at the same price point. With all the wood you've processed and exposure you've given Range-Road, one would think they would've offered a channel sponsorship with a new processor. Would be really nice if you got a deal like that. For me, I'll start with a Range-Road processor once can get a tractor to move the logs to the live deck. Then use the chainsaws and splitter to handle the logs over 12in.
I'd feed the old girl 16inch diameter but the wood needs to be pretty straight stuff but I'd say that's the deal with most processors on the market. Definitely there are proper equipment and tools for certain jobs. Wouldn't make much sense in my situation with the logs I deal with to get a splitter. Although I do get the odd log that's 20-30 inch diameter that a splitter would come in handy for. 👍👍
A rubber flap would stop the wood jamming on the conveyor. A piece of conveyor belt (used) should be easy to find. It's used mainly on industrial equipment like rock crushers...

Not a bad overall review.. I can't complain about using the Chinese box store splitter I had as it got me to a better machine..

Be nice for you if you can make the heavier-duty Range-Road processor happen. It will hold up a lot better as it is built much more stout. Which is why it costs so much more. Like the saying goes, "You get what you pay for."
Ya the price tag on the bigger unit is 2/3 more coming in around 30k I'd personally buy a new ecopro300 and hire on someone to run the second unit and invest the other 20k into logs. That's just me though. Maybe down the road range road with reach out for a sponsorship but till then I'll keep running this old girl. She still got lots of life in it👍👍
@armandshighlife , that would be about $50,000 in sales if I did your idea of a new EcoPro300 and the rest in logs. I'm hoping for a tractor sponsorship deal, but need to be a huge channel to get those. Then get an EcoPro300 with my own $.

I may have missed it in another video, but what did you change to speed up your splitter cycle. Looks way faster then mine!!
Hey its actually pretty stock in that aspect. I do run the splitting ram with the hand lever instead on wait for its auto cycle. That's the only thing I can think that would make mine faster. Most pieces don't need the ram.fully extended to split the wood so I can retract the ram sooner👍
@@armandshighlife It looks like it pushes the same speed as mine but retracts way quicker. Maybe just the video! I've changed the stop on mine to a shorter throw to speed it up a bit since I'm normally only doing 12" wood. 👍 Good stuff.
I’d like to see how it does with elm or some gnarly oak with several knots.
I've put through abit of elm ash and birch splits all pretty good got no oak around here so can't say on that but all wood should be pretty straight for these units👍👍
Scaring me a little putting your hand on the end of the round while splitting. I always tell my help that is the worst place to put your hand while splitting. But it’s all good until it isn’t.
I hope the people that watch my content act in a safer manner than myself. I personally get in there to get the pieces to go through splitting wedge at right angle, due to warping in the unit its self. Bit OCD that way. Hopefully I don't run into any accidents down the road 🤞🤞
How does the Range Road handle oak
I personally can't say as it don't grow locally but I've heard a few people put it through there own. Big factor for the unit is logs need to be pretty straight pole wood. But that's with most smaller processors👍👍

Been 2.5 yrs now sill waiting for a call back from Range Road after leaving several msgs... and same thing from the broker here in northern Ontario...
That's little unfortunate the dealer here wasn't the best back in the day but have changed alot for the better hope all is well out East with that huge unit you got! 👍👍

What about the gas fumes from the engine which is dangerous
The shack I have it in has quite a few areas air can flow through. Has been safe so far 👍
Anything involving metal and China is risky at best. Under significant hydraulic pressure, metal failure is likely
Definitely need a hand full of different size nuts and bolts and a welder or a fab guy to keep one of these units in working order. Small price for a cheap unit👍👍
