Biggest confusion I face everytime I see karthikeya singhee in any review is "is he a car guy or bike guy? " Cz his reviews in both departments are cool n ínformative.
I just bought an LDV D90 in Australia. SAIC (Shanghai auto industry China) owns MG and LDV. I was apprehensive about buying something Chinese but it’s a beautiful robust machine. No regrets.

Blockbuster- both 1.Review from KS- As it always is. 2.Gloster. First time in more than a decade Fortuner and Endeavour have a real challenger . Mg should not get tempted to price it over Fortuner/ Endeavour. It should be at least 3 lakhs cheaper than comparable variants of Fortuner/ Endeavour.At least 1st year. Price it at 35/36 lakhs on road and the top seller will be dethroned. MG has a winner ,far better product than the Hector ever was, just price it Right.
What a top-notch grill design. I just love it the SUV design which comes with a blind spot detection system. These systems are paired with night-vision systems.

Dimension comparison with Toyota Land Cruiser is an exaggeration. Full size LC(L5170 W1980 H1930) is bigger in all possible dimensions. Comparison with LC Prado maybe okay.
This is a Maxus D90 not a MG car. It is possible that Maxus does not have an agency in India and they slapped the MG brand tag on it. D90 has an identical exterior and interior to the Gloster.
In this review you have told , middle seat don't fold or tumble.. but in autocar review i saw the middle seat can be folded and we can access 3rd row from there
MG should have offered 3 seats in the middle. Inspite of being a huge car and still not being able to fit people properly by relying on the 3rd row of seats isn't great :(

The people criticising Gloster for being Chinese product are those who cant afford it or dont wanna enjoy the luxury and features it provides in comparison to its rivals. Fortuner takes its customers for granted and has the worst and cheapest interiors. Endeavour is great. No doubt in it. But it isnt luxurious.
For Indian buyers size matters and there is a trend going on like people slapping a Landrover look alike grill on a Brezza and BMW like grill and logo on a S -Cross, it somehow satisfies their ego. Gloster though low on quality in places, does one thing right, that's the size! Remove all the garish badging and slap a Merc logo on that grill and 30% or more wont even know. some may even mistake it to be a GLS variant. There you go, Ego... satisfied. Coming to the ADAS system, while it does sound nice, India doesn't get the full suite. Secondly the adaptive cruise control though it works fine as the technology was designed to, in India where anyone or anything can just pop out on the road without a hint or warning, it will be quite scary. Of course its not tech to blame but the point I am trying to make is that driver should not really completely rely on it. If you ask me, I see good potential in Gloster considering that it can do a bit of offroading too (most people who spend so much hardly step off the road, let alone go off road), the size, the design, the space, the features are all great. Two things I am curious about are 1. Price, 2. reliability and this is the big one since it will be pitted against the legendary Toyota reliability. Hope MG delivers on these front.

Beware, MG Gloster is a really bad product. Spends more time in the workshop than with us. Requires so many part replacements- Screen, A/C and its components, Sensors, 2 battery replacements in 3 years, 3 Alternator replacements in 3 years, pipes around the sunroof, A/C grill and knob breakdown. Every rain, the water seeps inside the car. Stalls on the road and we have to get crane to send it to the worship. USB hangs so frequently. We're only keeping the car since we had taken the extended warranty. Otherwise, it's a dangerous car to own considering its cost of maintenance and high need of parts replacement.
Not so convinced with the word 'nitpicking' especially after the price was revealed. I kept on thinking it is gonna fall under 30 lakhs. For a 40 lakh car these are serious quality issues!
Ok great styling good interiors but wait can it perform off the road ,like if iam spending 3million plus money on something it should get me anywhere i want, go for an endy you can take it to work and on weekends you have a proper suv to conquer even the himalayas

The Maxus D90 costs about 24 Lakhs (45000$) on-road in Australia. Expected price of 35 lakhs ex-showroom is quite high in my opinion.

We're only keeping the car since we had taken the extended warranty. Otherwise, it's a dangerous car to own considering its cost of maintenance and high need of parts replacement.

Dimensions of endeavor and fortuner (length) are WRONG.
Not so convinced with the word 'nitpicking' especially after the price was revealed. I kept on thinking it is gonna fall under 30 lakhs. For a 40 lakh car these are serious quality issues!

Ok great styling good interiors but wait can it perform off the road ,like if iam spending 3million plus money on something it should get me anywhere i want, go for an endy you can take it to work and on weekends you have a proper suv to conquer even the himalayas
