I believe it all started with "Soldiers: Heroes of World War II". Good memories!
There is also a game called Officers something, same devs, not sure if that came before or after Soldiers.

The original was the best. Missions in assault squad are repetitive and boring in my opinion, the first one had very creative missions and were fun and entertaining!
Men of War Assault squad 2 released 10 years ago in 2014 but the classic 'Men of war' released way earlier in 2009. Also the Always online is confirmed tho they have said they are working on a dedicated sp mode but still... kinda dumb.
I'd love to see you try Gates of Hell. I think you will really like it, if this interests you.
Always online is going to be changed to being able to play offline, the devs are working on it, it was mentioned in one of the latest dev blogs.

If i were to buy the game like diablo 4. Keeping in mind what it will be like, because the developers say so. After one year i will have still shitty game.

@@miszczu969 You really compared the developers of MoW2 (Best Way) to Blizzard... yeah find a better comparison there pup. Also Best Way have actually listened, communicated and responded to feed back from during the beta testing, and made changes to the game based on such. SO do know the situation before you make yourself look stupid. These developers are actually trying.. unlike Diablo 4.

Love Men of War, if you die, you die, no rebuilding (though you do get first aid etc if you are wounded). You can also capture enemy equipment and vehicles. The Panzer 1 could fire armour piercing bullets which could penetrate the armour of light tanks and armoured cars.
I think you mean the Panzer 2? Ain't no way the mg13s penetrate any light tanks.
@@cassu6 There are stories of British light tanks on Crete being like swiss cheese after being shot at by armour piercing bullets from MG 34 and the guns on the Pz 1 did have armour piercing ammunition. However, as I said, it would only penetrate the thinnest armour such as found in 1939-40 on light tanks and armoured cars.
as a MOWAS2 enjoyer this plays and looks like a chinese mobile game knock off
You need to try Gates of hell ostfont, I can't see anything here that ostfont doesn't do better. It has a ton of campaigns now with the dlc and the graphics are fantastic.
I liked the premise of GOH Osfront. But the UI and controls ruined it for me. It needed to be a little more accesible in my opinion.
Played it for a few hours and now I’m satisfied to say I’m done. Not a fan of using research points to unlock later units forcing me to play stupid modes I don’t like. Every mode is basically you using pre designated units you don’t get to buy units with CP or SP like Assault Squad..
Enemies lob grenades from across buildings to instantly kill infantry making using infantry pointless, empty lobbies people barely playing at launch, also there’s too much shit all over the screen miss Assault Squads simplicity
I wasn't even gonna check this out because I enjoyed my time with Gates of Hell.
But yeah, the Conquest co-op features Men of War 2 has available interests me as well. Separate reinforcement list for each player. Maybe they can even look at the strategy map instead of filling a lobby and sharing what units I assign to them.

Yep. This looks almost the same as the original Men of War, and whilst that was a great (but flawed) game, it didn't even look very good for its time. It's a shame this franchise has stagnated to the point where they've basically been releasing the same product for nearly two decades...
One quick tip for anti-tank with your regular soldiers, a singular AT grenade will usually take out most tanks, so I would just take one soldier and send him to take out a tank instead of a whole squad completely getting rid of their ability and becoming helpless at the encounter of enemy armored vehicles.
Sometimes you need to sacrifice an infantry squad to try and nade a tank.
Take a look at Call to Arms Gates of Hell, it's the true successor to the franchise

If you do get around to reviewing the first game (or Soldiers: Heroes of WWII which was a prequel to the first 'Men of War'), you'll soon come to learn that the janky (and often terrible) voice acting is a staple of the franchise. All I'll say for anyone that is reading this and that has played the first game: "Aim is in the reach zone!"
What is the difference between Call to Arms: Gates of Hell Ostfront and Men of War? Can you direct control units in Men of War? Can you go 3rd person if you can't? I started this genre of game with CTA:GOH as my first step past CoH2 and I can't see much of the difference between Call to Arms and Men of War. Somebody give me a big ol opinion here.
1) yes, you can direct control units
2) yes, you can go in 3rd person
First of all Call to Arms and Men of War made by same company. Digitalmindsoft was in a group of three companies that were making Men of War. Men of War 2 made by other two companies that made Men of War. Sooo yes they are similar. And no Men of War don't have 3rd person/First person but you can direct control it. CTA:GOH got idea for 3rd and first person view from mod for Men of War. Yes you can technically play in 3rd person with simple workshop mod. Men of War 2 is more like CoH2 than Men of War.

Well with men war assault squad you get more for your money the other game call to arms although good it really is greedy with its DLC compared to men of war assault squad game series
Infantry are weak because the unit size is too small.

Man said "I think Men of War came out in 2014"........ Assault Squad 2 came out in 2014, the original game came out in like 2009. To be fair, he hasn't played those games.
The conquest mode in men of war 2 is copied from gates of hell ain't original
Its a sequel in 2024 so will be Mediocre
