Wow my comment was removed by TH-cam for putting the letters B & S together (?). Anyway it was that 500 plus was a failed marketing ploy. Imagine if that money had gone into AAA development, into the A3000 or PC competitive model. The A500 plus, 600, abandoning the Unix deal and declining to provide a freebie to Paramount were some of the many blunders on the Amiga side of the business. But this feels somewhat insulting to the loyal remaining A500 base of the time.

They should have replaced A500 with A500+, as the lowest-tier home machine, for the same price.
