- With only a few more days until Christmas, we wanted to share another collaboration video with our friends from One Voice Children's Choir. The song is one of the most beloved Christmas carols of all time: O Holy Night. Perhaps the reason this song resonates with so many is its core message of hope. The original French poem was written by Placide Cappeau in 1847 to celebrate the renovation of the Roquemaure Church's organ. Cappeau reflected on the birth of Christ being a renewal of the world, just as the organ in his church had been renewed. That really is the message of Christmas: "A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices, for yonder breaks a new and glorious morn!"

I'm so happy to see Mat and Savanna expanding so much with their talent. One Voice Children's Choir has made a name for themselves of truly talented young people and to see M and S joining with them in this BEAUTIFUL rendition of one of my favorite Christmas hymns is truly spectacular. The power of music and imaginative arrangements with stunning vocals is never so evident as here. I am lucky enough to be based in Auckland, NZ where I could gather with other members of my choir group, Everybody Sings, and sing in bustling malls to raise money for the local City Mission. As we did so we felt so privileged to be in that position, as if we were singing for a world of choirs who could not get together in this craziest of years. We were proud to raise the most money in our history, $25,200 for the homeless and starving people of Auckland. When I hear Mat and Savanna here I connect to that same feeling of creating a powerful blessing from music, music to heal a downtrodden spirit, to calm an anxious mind. Blessings to all in this world experiencing a Christmas affected by Covid...you have been in our thoughts and prayers here in New Zealand.

This is sadly so disturbing, to see all these people singing indoors, without masks and social distancing during a Covid pandemic that is raging out of control. Terrible example. Religions would not want to see even more dead because of a concert. I will not be able to follow anymore. The sanctity of life is more important.

The music is beautiful, as always. The youth in the choir were exceptional. However, I found I had to close my eyes and just listen as the frantic pace of the videographer was both distracting and dizzying. Even the credits were given at a pace too quick to be read. Please consider slowing the visuals down a bit.
I enjoy both versions, but I lean toward the Mat-Savanna duet version.

Beautiful. Good 6 ft spacing for the most part. I would approve had it been done outside- not in an enclosed space. Our Chief Medical officer and our Minister of Health say "no singing" (with good reason for controlling transmission of Covid-19). They would not approve group singing outdoors even with the current rate of transmission.
My prayers for everyone involved that no illness spreads as a result of this lovely gift to the world.

They were not facing each other and COVID-19 risk for children is minimal they were more likely to have an accident travelling to the venue than getting COVID!

One of my favorite carols sung by my favorite artists. I just found that the production of it was so busy that it took away from the purity of Matt and Savannas artistry. One of the things I love most when they sing is how they look at each other but in the beginning of this it looked staged. As though they were told they must constantly look at each other adoringly. The children singing and moving was good but not so good was the camera moving around like a drunken soldier. I would have preferred that Matt and Savanna continue to sing with their hearts without all the buzz. They are amazing. They don't need the jazzy production to stay amazing.
I fully get what you are saying and have some of the same observations, but at the same time, I like the fact that they are sharing their talent with others, as well as changing things up a bit. Having said that, I would love to hear a simple Mat and Savanna duet rendition. This hymn is so spectacular that it can stand nicely on its own.
The music and voices are amazing. Mat's voice is seriously the envy of every male singer. However, the camera work and editing was so energetic I seriously had to close my eyes because I was getting motion sick. I enjoy their other videos with much less movement. That being said the music was beautifol.
The camera flying around the room made it almost unwatchable. (I don't tolerate that type of motion, either.) Almost felt as though operator didn't have control. :( Who thought that was a good idea or in keeping with the emotion and flow of the song? Everyone moving around the room had the appearance of something you'd see with a band performing on the field at halftime.

I am 71 yrs old and have never heard a more moving and excellent rendition of this beautiful song. From Mat and Savanna to the incredible children accompanying them, just fantastic and amazing. Listening to this brought glorious chills all over. Kudos to the young man and young lady who performed solo pieces, just beautiful. Everyone involved in this production, should be so very proud. Amazing, Amazing, Amazing. We can't stop watching it!!!

My sweet 91 yr old vibrant mother was taken from us last evening just as the Star of Bethlehem shon. Her soul went to be with God. In my sorrow I am repeatedly listening to O Holy Night and would love your blessing in playing it at her virtual funeral. Once again your gift has touched me and soothe me at this time of sorrow for me.
