    This song was actually written by Ozzy and Lemmy from Motorhead for the Hellraiser movie. Ozzy and Motorhead did their own versions, and Ozzy just last year released a 30th anniversary version that cuts their two versions together after Lemmy's death. All three are great recordings.

      Do the decade : 1981-1991 =
      Blizzard Of Ozz + Diary of A Madman (Randy Rhoades era)
      Bark At The Moon + The Ultimate Sin (Jake E Lee era)
      No Rest For The Wicked + No More Tears (Zakk Wylde)

    you're right - Ozzy always had amazing taste in putting together bands and finding and discovering guitarists that would go on to be legends in their own right.

    This is one of two or three songs on this album Lemmy from Motorhead wrote, Ozzy is dyslexic and doesn't write lyrics despite what Sharon's songwriting credits say. They did a version of this song a couple years back that mashed up the Ozzy and Motorhead versions that's worth checking out.

      @zenistfpv ปีที่แล้ว +1

      exactly! Ozzy has been carried by his showmanship which none can deny, but he's barely literate. Without the musicians who've played for him over the years and Sharon to keep him from dying drunk in a ditch he'd have be done and gone post Sabbath.

    When I hear this song I think of that 20minutes before the concert starts… the techs are buzzing around making last minute adjustments, the dry ice is starting there’s a feeling in the arena that’s impossible to describe or recreate

      That build up to when the band explodes out onto the stage is my favourite part of the night
      This will sound weird but after that build up and reveal I could leave the show and feel I got my moneys worth… I can never get enough of that experience

    I remember hearing Zaks intro for the first time on the No Rest for the Wicked album. Knew then this was what Ozzy was looking for after Randy Rhodes death. Had NO idea Zak would turn out to be such an influence on the next 35 years of metal music.

    When you become a real metal head, you can appreciate this older style AND the new extreme style. It's just an evolution. One is not better than the other. It's just where music is headed. I'm old so I appreciate the old more... but I still listen to the crazy new stuff too. There's room for both.

    Hellraiser! Zakk Wylde on guitar. Lemmy and Motorhead played the shit out of this tune. Ozzathon sounds great. Here's my 3 - Shot In The Dark, Bloodbath In Paradise and Killer Of Giants. And to Ryan's point early on, I agree. Hard to bridge that gap betweet technicality and groove. Loved the reaction. Peace!

    I'd probably consider it Ozzy's last "Great" album. He's had some great songs since then, but this one was all killer, no filler. Also probably Zakk's last album where he still had some of that southern rock flair to his playing. After this, he went crazy with the pentatonic scales and harmonic squeals that gets a bit repetitive

    • @backstabbath2690
      @backstabbath2690 ปีที่แล้ว +3
