    Thanks a lot for your eye-opening video on Amazon KDP self - publishing. I really enjoyed it. I have problem getting my book pass the review stage. The very first work book I submitted for Amazon review passed the test and was published by Amazon. After a day or two, it was blocked. Since then, I have submitted two workbook for review, and were equally blocked . What do I do?

    Thank you. Very helpful. I am writing a novel with two or maybe three planned sequels. After downlading my first novel into Amazon KDP can I make editing changes and iclude chapter headings and add correct page numbers etc. Also can I add information about the sequels and planned launch dates?

    • @selfpublishingempire
      @selfpublishingempire  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes you can update an already published book, just edit and re-upload the manuscript. A note that if this changes the page length, you'll need to remake the cover in the correct dimensions.

    I appreciate the info, it's been very helpful. I was just wondering about the book cover/wrap. I've hired a friend to do the book cover and we've already settled on a design for the front. I didn't realize that I'd also need him to do the spine and back but I don't think that should be an issue as he's a talented artist and has done artwork for people's books in the past. I was curious about the information about the book on the cover itself, mainly on the spine and the back cover. Is that all info that I should give to him to add or is that information I add in the KDP program? Again, thank you so much for the info!

    • @selfpublishingempire
      @selfpublishingempire  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If it's an ebook you just need the front cover, if a paperback then you need the wrap :). Go to kdp cover calculator for the dimensions and you can include whatever you want really on your book cover! But there are industry standards that most follow... And yes that all needs to be on the cover by your designer as a printable pdf file

    Hi! Thanks for a very nice presentation! Your books look fantastic! I have a lot to do before I release my trilogy via "Rapid Release" and I want to have all three with front and back covers. My front covers I had a pro design, but can't afford back covers and must design my own and the spines. I want POD in paperback and hard cover.
    The ideal for me is get all three books ready but not publish for a while and keep them in reserve. I'm not sure how long it will take to make my own author/musician website. I'm thinking its better to have a website than just an author page on Amazon, right?
    Also how can I get all three books ready but not set a date? If I set a date then there's pressure to get all ready in time and I don't want that. Plus I will leave with copies of Book One to give to relatives on a 650 mile bicycle trip to visit them and also get three gift shops to sell copies and maybe newspaper and radio interviews on the way.
    I want to have a sign on my bike noting "Author Selling his book!" or the like. I want to get things ready and publish in reasonable time but in my newbie case there are a lot of unknowns. . Does KDP allow for that kind of situation?
    AI read my whole trilogy but did nothing but praise my story all the way except ChatGPT said to shorten some of my lengthy dialogue at the start of my Book One. AI didn't do any editing, grammar... nothing else. Is ChatGPT designed to only praise writer's stories, or will the be critical when necessary?
    If ChatGPT likes my story very much does it mean my story is actually good? Do I have to say AI helped me with my story? I wrote my trilogy entirely by myself with comments from free lance editors and several beta readers. Any input from anybody is much appreciated!

I am hoping to self publish a non fiction book on health coaching in the next couple of years, with the view to also marketing paper back copies in a shop outside UK. I am certain I will go the KDP way but was wondering if there's a best way forward to print the actual copies ? How do I engage a printing company to print once I go with Amazon? Any advice will be most welcome pls.I am a little green in this area😊 Thanks

    • @selfpublishingempire

      Thanks! There's two main routes.
      1/ Self Published through Amazon KDP. Thjey supply an ISBN for free and you sell only on Amazon (for the majority) and whenever a purchase is made Amazon print it in their warehouse and ship it, and they take a fairly decent royalty for that.
      2/ Buy your own ISBN and then print via a third party like Ingram Spark who also help with distribution and then sell 'wide' - on Amazon and other areas.
      3/ If you're looking for physical copies to sell on and not worried about distribution, I'd google and get quotes from people and get a sample done :)

      Not 100% sure of the issue so just make sure your account is all set up, bank details entered, tax interview completed and then go to Amazon kdp sign up, go to the bookshelf and create a book. Enter the info and upload your manuscript (which should be on your computer so no need to download from amazon?) and cover . If there were errors before the book should be in draft state and you can edit.

      @selfpublishingempire  16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Sorry Dean I don't completely understand the question... If you want to only have a few pages colour and the rest black and white, I think it still needs to be a colour book (which is more expensive) - if that helps at all? Else if it's between cream and white, you can choose cream and still have colour I believe?

      I think you'll be absolutely fine. If you were to publish under a new pen name then there's not really any conflict and/or benefit really. If you wanted to use the same author name, liklihood is that you wouldn't be able to link to the two trad published books, but people may find you by searching for your name - I'd just check any contracts to make sure you're allowed to do so!

      make sure to look through Amazon's KDP guidelines as to what's expected/accepted and then you'll need to use a program, either free like Canva or paid like Book Bolt/Adobe InDesign to format and export your manuscripts in the correct formats/settings :). If you're just writing a book then Word will be fine too.

    Thank you for this informative video. Does anyone know if there's a threshold for what is considered "low content?" I'm working on a book in which I've created illustrations and original quotes that are placed throughout the book (sort of a motivational ledger of sorts), but other than that, it IS a book to be filled out by a user (it has pages and pages of blank lines). So despite my content additions, is it still just a "low content" book and therefore, in the Amazon upload process, it MUST be indicated as such?

    • @selfpublishingempire

    My question is if i start out in Journals etc is it ok to have the COVER text just state Journal while the cover design has the images of whatever niche im targeting (As i seem to be finding on amazon) and to have the Description name be for example Kawaii Character Journal : A cute daily journal of my thoughts, Or would that cause problems?
