If I had someone coming to my place to mow I would pick up the kids toys and get them and anything else in the yard out of his way. Cannot believe how a customer expects to get a free removalist as well as a mower man
Here in the USA, your lawn service just cancels on you for that unless you are willing to pay extra for that. Homeowners with pets, kids, and people that hoard pay a lot extra.
Meanwhile I just pick up a few things because it; a) takes 5 minutes, b) I'm charging for my time and c) I'm not a sook, I'm a grown man and a professional.
You know Tim, people aren't thoughtful to their yard's. Some can't do anything that's when you excuse them and the other's need to be educated. You're a good soul doing the tough jobs effortlessly.
The way I see it Tim, it's up to the person who is holding the trimmer all day as to what make and model of trimmer (s)he uses, I'm 6'3" ,265+ lbs so what may be good for a small person may not be good for me, but to each his or her own. You did a great job of knocking down the high grass and hopefully the home owner will be able to keep it decent now, sometimes it takes a professional to get the place under control, and you are a professional
I can remember when the 'Weedeater' electric trimmer came on the market back in the 1970's. It was so popular, just about everyone went out and got one - at least in the U.S.A. For it's time, it was a game changer in lawn care.
Mowing the back like you're on speed was hysterical. I agree with you about the trimmers, if it feels good in your hands for weight and length that's what really matters. Great job tidying up for the homeowner, yard looks ready for a party 😀😀
I am retired and live in an apartment so totally impartial as far as the machinery goes. I just enjoy the process and the differences in the before and afters.
Morning Tim, what a great difference again. The grass looks quite healthy even after the cutting. The house seems to be so nice, but not appreciated. People refer to picking up the toys and removing garden furniture, they can't even cut the grass, let alone putting away a hose after watering, I wonder what was watered. But it is all looking so nice and tidy, I hope they will realise that they are blessed to have a lovely home. I don't particularly care for the dark bricks, I would paint them if possible. Nice work Tim, hope you are satisfied. Go well kind regards.
I use my UMK425 with the quality harness included. Changes the balance once again, also dont feel any of the weight, as the harness carries most of it. Also adjusting the handle up or down the shaft could change the balance also.
Fabulous work, Tim. Just catching up on favourite posts. Not been well with MS problems. A pity that debris, toys, etc weren’t moved to make your life easier but what you achieved was still outstanding. I’m sure the client appreciated the outcome. All the very best to you and Nicole. Catching up gradually and see you on your next presentation 🌟🌟🌟
Watching your comparison between the Stihl and the Honda I certainly looked like the Honda was cutting quite a bit more easier. I can understand the weight and balance. Beilliant job and like the comparison part of the video. 🤗🇦🇺
I like that you compared the trimmers. Good insight and a fair, IMO, comparison. Yes, in end it's up to the user. Enjoy your channel very much! Howdy from the Heart of Oklahoma USA 🇺🇸
Proof!!!!!!!!!! there is a Milwaukee m18x2 mower in the country! I just caught a glimpse.............sigh won't be able to buy one for 2 yrs, but at least I saw one
Hi Tim I'm running a FS94 and a Honda also. Like the quietness of the Honda but the 94 wins hands down for me. It's light and just seems so easy to use. Keep up the great videos, like your work!
Perhaps I am just a neatness freak, but it's not rocket science to remove stuff in the grass if you know there is someone coming to cut the grass for you. And does anyone believe that it is possible to get a nice, thick and lush lawn from Kikuyu grass? I had it in my old house and no matter what I did with it, it was rubbish. The Sir Walter I have now in my new house is awesome in comparison.
People who let their property get in this state simply don't care about anyone else. I literally have to first walk the yard checking for equipment destroying metal/timber/concrete left laying in the growth.
Very informative Tim, it was interesting to see the different trimmers in use. That grass was crazy thick and long good you didn't have to take it to the tip. Rain event is putting it mildly, 13 dead in Q.LD 9 dead in N.S.W. Love the rotary scissor and they dont need string.I watched this video twice, stay safe and well. Hi from Queensland 🐨
Don’t care about comparing trimmers, but I’ll watch anyway🤷🏻♀️. You always have good content. Relaxing, even if you have to pick up a degraded plastic hose.😧
Hey there!!!! You should be drying that good grass out to make hay! Could make a sweet little load of bales out of that lot and sell them to a shepherd somewhere nearby!!! FarmerMJ
A Darwin grip might make a difference in the balance/weight distribution especially over a long day. Personal preference due to height, weight, type and length of grass, trimming or edging, length of day, etc.
Been stalking your yt and TikTok to see if you uploaded any more content from Jim’s. Would love to see more of that if possible. Great idea comparing the stihl and Honda.
I went and bought me a battery operated Worx. Not sure which one but I have a small yard and it works great for me. It does do good on the bigger stuff but I don’t have that as I take care of my yard weekly. Can’t remember what our other trimmer is, we bought it at Sears. But I can’t ever get it started and it’s way heavy for me. Another larger trimmer that’s battery operated I use at work is crap. The line sticks and you have to take it apart to fix it. Can’t remember the brand. So whatever feels right and works correctly for the person is what I say. No matter the brand. Great job as always Tim. Suggestion? Could you move the camera more often. It would be appreciated.
grouse work Tim mate that,s a good set if trimmers you showed us and for me something nice and light and yep i,m tall a nice Stihl trimmer will do and straight shaft i can use and in general bent shaft i do use occasionally mainly in a small yard is all and i have also used a Honda 4 stroke and wearing a Harness to take the weight of the motor and all off your arms often helps with some people unless they are as strong as Hercules though lol hehe!

Nice brickwork on that house even though grey bricks so not attractive. Need that here in US. Just looking at a bricked street in the Netherlands. Beautiful. Just don't have that kind of talent here in US
Unfortunately overgrown yards are a breeding ground for vermin, etc and no doubt they've also infiltrated the house as well. As others have commented, picking up loose toys and rubbish should be a given (if physically able) to make the job a little easier to undertake
Hi Tim have you had any damages to your equipment as a result of crap buried under deep grass etc, and also have you ever damaged property from flying objects? 64400 subs come on lets get Tim to 100k subs before summer....Keep up the good work. Spring is coming
I use the Honda 35cc weedeater at work. It handles the long grass without bogging, but being tall and with the machine weighing more than the 25cc it can get very fatiguing. Tossing up between the Honda 25cc or the Stihl FS94 for my own personal use. Just not sure, I can't decide
As much as I love the lawnvideos, it is fun with some other content related too. And I keep pushing for a setup video, of the truck and such :-) Just found your instagrams, they are very nice little bits.
Hey Tim really enjoyed the two weed eaters not sure who is the winner but I guess that’s up to the individual. I had a two stroke weedeater but with a curve head and I was definitely having engine problems because I’ve never use the weedeater much but I did not like the curve head I felt like I had not much control. So I got rid of that and got a battery powered straight shaft and really love it. To give you some idea the backyard of the Family home you did is bigger than my front yard so the battery operated weedeater works good for me. Not sure if you’ve ever Operated a curve shaft weed eater but like I said it’s uncomfortable for me. Thanks for sharing the video and take care
You mentioned a couple times thinking the Stihl was preferred cause of its feel being related to your height. Personally I don’t think it is. They’ve just got a better feel in my opinion. I use an fs94 as well, and I’m 190cm tall (6ft3in) and I have the same opinion that it just sits right and is balanced well. And I find it makes all the difference when doing edges with the flipped vertical cut. The slightly longer shaft of the Honda felt “off” to me as well.
Nathan I am the same height as you and wish my Honda was 4” longer, how do you manage with the shorter shaft machine? I’m bent over the whole time with the Honda.

Are you using both a blade and string trimmer head ? I cn see using the blade for the majority of the grass . And then on the oustside where you will be hitting walls or fences , etc To use the string to not damage them or dull the blade hitting the fence or wall .
Beautiful job, very neat looking!!!! By the way Tim, here’s a crazy question, do you have chiggers over ther?, we sure do here in Texas. Their awful at times and I’m allergic to them. Takes a couple of weeks for me to heal. Again excellent job….
If I had someone coming to my place to mow I would pick up the kids toys and get them and anything else in the yard out of his way. Cannot believe how a customer expects to get a free removalist as well as a mower man
Not that he expects to have a "free remover" this customer abuses the gardener's goodwill.
Here in the USA, your lawn service just cancels on you for that unless you are willing to pay extra for that. Homeowners with pets, kids, and people that hoard pay a lot extra.
