I played this song at my husbands funeral. This was the perfect song for I how I felt. We were together for 26 years. And the last 10 he was in kidney failure. His last days were emotional and very hard. He spent them in ICU his body so swollen he was almost unrecognizable. I never left him. In the last hours the doctor came in and told me he was brain dead. It was hard to hear, but at the same time a relief. Just two weeks before he had a serious talk with me. He knew his time was very limited and I knew his request and what he had told me he wanted and didn’t want. The one big thing was he did not want to be kept alive ( if you could have called it that ) on a machine. So I had to honor his request and let him go. That has been 8 years ago and I remember it like it was yesterday. Thank you so much for the words to this song and for it being sung with such emotion and feeling. It remains to mean the world to me.

@LindaKaspar. I know how you feel. My husband passed 3 days before Christmas. 2 yrs ago. He had covid pneumonia in both lungs, and even with 60L oxygen being forced into his lungs, he couldn't breathe. He went unconscious minutes after I got into his room. We barely had time to say a prayer & that we loved each other more than anything in the world. He went unconscious & I sat there 16 hrs holding his hand and talking to him. We were married for 29 years . I haven’t moved his things. His photos are all over the walls. He was disabled for years due to strokes. I took care of him. I would give anything just to have him back 1 more day. I loved him like the air I breathe. I wish God would have taken us together 😭💔

I love this song so much. When it first came out, 10 years ago, I was going through breast cancer treatment. I cried every time I heard it. Thankfully I’m still cancer free now. I haven’t heard it in a while. I listened to it tonight & sobbed again. I lost my husband, of 63 years, to Alzheimer’s last week. I was his caretaker for the last several years. This song brings out so many emotions & is sung so beautifully. Thank you for this beautiful song.

Thank you so much for this song!!! It is so true!!! God will hold you and He will never let go!!!! I know this because He did this for me!! In 2006 we lost our 23 year old son from a motorcycle accident. It devastated us. Then in 2022 I lost m6 husband of 45 yrs. We had each other when Michael passed away but this was so different. He was my best friend, my soulmate. He was a loving father. A man who loved God so much!!! But he was sick and in so much pain for years, so God took him home where he has a new body and in no pain. He's soooo happy !!!!! He's with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Almost two years ago I was lying in bed screaming, crying, begging Him to calm me. He heard my prayer. I could feel Him holding me and He dried my tears. He calmed my shaking body. I sat up wondering what had happened to me then I realized that He heard me and answered my prayer. From then on I had to thank Him for taking him out of this world to a place of no pain, no sickness but to a Heavenly place. A place where Jesus lives. Thank you Jesus for that promise if we believe in you and accept you as Jesus Christ!!!

My daughter died from cancer in 2011 from cancer. She was 32 with a 5 year old son. She died in my arms in my home. I sang this song to her for months before she passed but most certainly in the last 2 weeks she was in a coma and I lay in the bed with her. This song has meant the world to me and 10 years later, it still brings me to my knees.

I'm sorry for your loss I know how that feels I've been fighting a brain tumor since I was seven and I went to st. Jude's children's research hospital and saw so many kids with so many sicknesses and then some kids didn't even make it I saw some family's cry cause their kid passed away but the good thing about that hospital is they try to find a cure for everything pretty much I was seven when I started going and now I'm twenty eight but I had to stop going there a couple of years ago because it's a children's hospital and I'm not considered a child anymore

When I was 12 my mother was diagnosed with cancer. She fought it off for almost 3 years. She was tired, she needed a rest. I remember in the last few weeks of her life me and little brother started learning how to sing and play this song on guitar. When we played it for her she did not make a sound. At that point she was mostly gone, but I know she heard it. Through the song she had a slight smile on her face. She died a few days later. This song was played at her funereal. Thank you for writing such a beautiful song. I'm not really the kind of person you would see here but this song has helped me cope more than I think it did for my mother. Thank you.

My friend sent this to me when my husband was in the hospital ICU in jan 24. He stayed there for twelve days before I had to decide to take him off the vent. It was a sudden illness, sudden decision. I used the song for his funeral. My husband was a bass singer with his family for many years abd that is hiw we actually met. I was a radio announcer. We enjoyed 25 years of marriage, and i know he is in a better place, but it doesn't mean i dont miss him everyday. This song continues to bless me each time i listen. I commented on here before,not too long ago-now,I'm here to say this song is very powerful,because I had to pull off the side of the interstate because I couldn't see to drive!!!! I lost my momma last Thursday,and her passing has ripped my heart to shreds!!!! I use to sing to her,when she was well and she loved it-never got to sing this one though!!!! My momma was my best friend,we had such a good relationship and I don't know what I'm gonna do-a catch myself crying at the drop of a hat,it's been 7 days and it already feels like an eternity!!!! This is a pain I've never felt,and I don't see it going anywhere soon! There may be no turning back from this for me!!! I guess only time will tell- I love you so much momma and already miss you tremendously!!!!

I'd give anything if my son loved me. Your mom knew how much you loved her. I'm 78 and at moments I miss my mom so much. We were blessed to have such loving moms. Blessings. Psalm 91 helps me so much ❤️

My Mom battled Triple Negative Breast Cancer for 10 months, and ultimately lost her battle October 23, 2011. This song reminds me of her battle and courage each and every time I hear it. My family has been torn apart through the grief and loss of my Mother, and I can only imagine how that would make her feel to know this....but she's in heaven and is new again, feeling no more pain.....RIP Mom...I'm so proud of you!!!!!
