- After months of speculation and questions about how we would get the Marvel Legends Wasp revealed during the HasLab Giant Man campaign, we finally get our answer courtesy of the Marvel Legends team.
I break down my thoughts on the Wasp and Giant Man two-pack just announced from Hasbro. - บันเทิง
I'm not happy it's a pulse exclusive, but I'm going to try and get one.
Like you said in a previous video, Marvel Legends is killing it. This proves things that have come before and things to come, how they are listening and giving the fans what they want. Banger after banger! Can put that West Coast Hank in that lab coat too.
They are, man! So many great additions to the line with fun accessories and in most cases, truly definitive looks. Great call about the Wackos Hank with the lab coat!
Ok, you already know Jeff, as the self-appointed (😄)world's biggest Hank and Janet fan, this 2-pack is a must have for me. Hasbro knocked it out of the park with this. Now if they can get me a Yellow-Jacket and Bill Foster 2-Pack, I will crown Hasbro the undisputed "Winners of 2024".
I feel like Yellowjacket might get featured in an Avengers-wave. We still don't have that one for 2024 yet so there's still hope ;-)
@@LylesFigureFiles I think they could do a Yellowjacket/ Wasp in the Red/Yellow wedding couple or Yellowjacket/Original Ultron. I would like to see a Bill Foster as a retro Black Goliath or his version of Giant Man
@@brianmiklic5058 There are SO many Wasp variants they could so that they could pair her up with all the Hank identities and slight costume changes and still not scratch the surface ;-)

Very cool! Both wasp heads look great! I'm gonna have to rotate which one she is displayed with. The Quinjet tease turned out to be what I expected as far as being a Pym Particle reduced version, but I wasn't sure he'd be in the same costume as the HasLab, and did not expect a 2-Pack. I know some aren't fans, but I've really been enjoying their 2-pack and multi-pack offerings. I better set an alarm for this set. I don't think it will totally sell out right away, but I'd prefer not to risk it.
Maaan, I'm happy we got a smaller version of the HasLab and based on some comments, I think there's gonna be more folks who didn't back the HasLab going for this set. I've REALLY dug their two/multi-packs these last few years.
@LylesFigureFiles See that's what I'm thinking... most who got the HasLab might want them, and then a bunch more who didn't will want to fill the void. I honestly want them to do a 12" Giant man next. Even if it's just reusing an old mold like they did with the Superadaptoid.

Everything about that 2-pack looks amazing EXCEPT... WHY?!! Why can't they give us miniature figures anymore?!! They used to do mini-Wasp and Ant-Man figures. They don't even need new molds, just repaint the ones that were packed with the 2019 retro card figures. This makes me so [irrationally] upset.
But everything else is terrific. Huge win!

Those two kept falling on the display for me and I really wish they could find a way to make mini-figs specifically Wasp somewhat articulated and with painted heads.
This is great news! That computer tablet was done before in translucent plastic for the HYDRA Scientist Supreme and 1 other figure.

Great video Jeffrey. I was curious on the progress of the Wasp since its reveal last year. It had been a minute since last we heard. I was not disappointed with this update at all. A throwback to the Silver Age - although I wonder how its plastic skirt works with leg articulation, it looks short enough...... Hank Pym is a perfect compliment to go in a 2-pack with the Wasp - and I was pleasantly surprised to see the soft goods lab coat. The face sculpt the figure comes with is perfect to the reference material. I wait with anticipation for this pack. However the question begs an answer; who would rather trade in those accessories this pack comes with for a miniature Wasp and Ant-Man? Especially those who back the ML Haslab would benefit from them rather than a reused beaker and touchpad.
I feel like I have three mini-Ant-Man figures so I'm probably not a good one to ask that question. Those figures need more work like a flight stand to be in flying poses and some form of articulation. I end up having my TB Giant Man BAF holding the mini-Wasp from the Marvel Universe pack. And the Ant-Man is inconsistent in terms of being able to stand. I'm not sure how they would execute it properly.
Despite it not being pinless, I really do prefer the first gold and black Wasp. I'm good with that one. I just need a Yellow Jacket to go with her.
Curious. Which era Avengers are you building?
@@LylesFigureFiles just the ones I like the best or that have the costumes I like the most. In this case, it's because I want the pair to be in black and gold. I know Ant-Man and Giant-Man are classic, but I hate their costumes. The original Wasp costume isn't great either.

I loved the two packs from last year and that trend has continued so far this year.
I backed 2 of the Haslab Giant Man, and this is a definite must buy for me. I think Yellowjacket is not far away at all.

Wasp and Hank look incredible. I am happy this pack is stand alone and not locked behind a Haslab.
I love the debate. A good amount of comments are saying they should have been included while the other half are saying they're getting them without backing it. I can see why it's a tough decision for the ML team.
Been wanting this for a very long time . These look great . I think Wasp antenna are soft like Lady Bullseyes hair pins.

This is a nice looking pack. But for me I would’ve liked a mini Wasp figurine thrown in as a lil bonus.

And yes Haslab woulda been 250 and the exact same people woulda been complaining. But i do think a code for 20%off at pulse or free shipping or something if you backed woulda been a nice thank you.
Shoot, even a 10% would have been a nice gesture. That is a good idea especially if there's characters that directly complement a HasLab just like the Sabine, Kanan and Zeb figures Hasbro recently put up.

This is just…wow. Hasbro is definitely on a mission to redeem themselves in 2024. I am so happy that I backed that Giant Man HasLab now. Coulda, woulda, shoulda just became “We DID.”
I really feel like the ML team has done some of their best work already in 2024. Looking forward to whatever they have left for us!
This is everything I could have hoped for (except I'd prefer the lab coat be like the Reed Richards coat!) Definitely ordering 2!
I'd forgotten that great Reed lab coat. Wonder if the arm pegs wouldn't work with non butterfly shoulder arms?

I agree. I counted Wasp for sure but adding Giant Man definitely adds another strong example of a banner year for the brand!
Looks nice but these should've been extras with the Giant-Man Haslab as well with how much it cost IMHO

@@LylesFigureFiles I got 2, amigo, cuz I wanted to have both looks for each character. They'll look so good with the Antman figure--and eventually my Giant Man!
I'm not sure how I feel about this one. I love the job they did on the Wasp - she looks perfect! My issues are these.
First, it's not one of my favorite Wasp costumes. I liked her 1970s ones mostly. The purple one from Avengers #161 was cool, and I liked the red/blue one from Avengers #150 and the red/yellow one from Avengers #164 even more. But my all time favorite was probably her orange-gold one from Avengers #170. I would have preferred those since those were the ones I grew up on (she switched to the red-yellow one and the red/blue one off and on starting in Avengers around #34 or so).
But the more I look at it, the more I like that original costume. They did the face sculpt perfect, and the beehive helmet and antenna. That costume is starting to grow on me more for it's insect-like look. Though I really wish they'd have done her in a more black & yellow costume that yells "Wasp!" the way Yellowjacket's does.
Second, the Giantman 6" figure is pretty much useless to me and I'm not sure why they bothered. I've recently re-read all the Avengers issues from #1 through #200 and Giantman is shown in virtually every single panel and scene - even when simply sitting in a meeting in Avengers Mansion - as about 9'-12' tall. In action scenes he averages from 9' to about 18' - very rarely much larger. So first they made a Haslab that's just way too big for the character. He's almost NEVER been shown at 30' height (the Haslab in scale). Very rarely and to me he looks...wrong. Now this 6" version also looks...wrong. I can't even remember a scene or panel where they showed Giantman at a 6' height.
Third, I really, really wanted them to give us a tiny-sized Wasp so she can shrink up. Wasp looks awesome - they definitely hit it out of the ballpark on her - but she can't be used in battle scenes because she's full sized. Very disappointed with that. What was Hasbro thinking?
Definitely getting it though, because they did do an AMAZING job on the Wasp. And actually, I do have a tiny like 2.5" tall Wasp that came with some old Toybiz figure or something (can't recall). Not the greatest articulation, and the colors are dark blue and red but the same costume and close enough. So for now that works. And I have the same sized Antman. Now what I REALLY want is a Yellowjacket that comes with a 2.5" sized version as well.
And of course, Mantis, Swordsman and the original costume Wonderman. Always gotta add that wish to my Avengers lineup!
Still down for your Avengers choices! I wish the mini-figs had articulation and a flight stand for Wasp, which then just makes her inclusion harder to price out.

This is bitter sweet for me. Bitter in that I am overspending and want to cut bac but this is a must have. Sweet that this is such a good two pack of figures that I have really wanted and would be great additons to my Avengers collection but do I get these or do I wait and save money for now for her Black and Gold costume later which I like better but that would mean missing out on normal size Hank Pym. I will only have until tommorow to decide
As more Wasp figures come out the price on that black and gold one "should" come down?
@@LylesFigureFiles I ended up getting the two pack actually didnt realize they already had the black and gold she looks a little weird to me and I tend to avoid build a figures. Really surprised it hadnt sold out but I guessing that its because its not preorder.
They did do a really good job the only thing missing with Wasp is a tiny Wasp to show her shrinking effect now I think will be getting a Pixie soon, if they knew they where gonna do this they should have done an unmasked head with a cowl down piece for the Haslab Giant man, Strange Tales #89 Fin Fang Foom is next only question now is will he have pants or not. Now what’s gonna come in the Strange Tales wave Let’s hope for 1)Baron Mordo, 2) Adam Warlock , 3)Paste pot Pete or Trapster, 4) Wizard, 5) Plantman, 6) Ancient One, 7) Mad thinker 8)Puppet Master BAF Awesome Android these where all characters that appeared in Strange tales
I'm really hoping they don't waste a Haslab on Fin Fang Foom. Never been a fan of the character, and to do a character that size (Haslab) and with wings on the back - it just commands WAY too much shelf space. I couldn't spare it. Plus there are far more important characters that have had more influence or stature in the Marvel Universe that would sell better and offer more options. For example, the Watcher or Eternity. Both would allow Hasbro to include FIGURES as tiers because the Haslab figure itself would be worth getting, tiers or no tiers. Second, the characters included (I'll explain below) would not trigger complaining about "paywall locks" because they would be characters everyone knows damned well would likely never otherwise be released individually. For example...
The Watcher . He would be Galactus-sized (or better, just a tad shorter). They could add The Punisher (Galactus's original alien-robot servant) as a tier, which they SHOULD HAVE done with the Galactus Haslab since Silver Surfer and the Punisher both appeared with Galactus in his first appearance. Anyone who bought the Galactus Haslab would obviously buy the Watcher, and now they'd have Galactus's Punisher. They could also throw in Gabriel the Airwalker, the one Galactus herald they skipped over. I think it fits the theme and it would be a perfect group.
Or Eternity. Imagine a Galactus-sized Eternity, how awesome that would look! They could use colored plastic inserts on the body for the various stars, planets and galaxies, and have his entire body light up! As tiers, they could again use characters that would both be desirable but also not trigger the paywall argument - Dr. Strange in his original all-blue costume and Dormammu in his all-green original costume. They already have the molds, so he'd just need a new head sculpt - pure profit!
To continue milking the X-Men teat, they could do a Living Monolith that comes with tiers of a Living Pharaoh (lets face it - nobody wants a Living Pharaoh if they can't have a Living Monolith to "turn him into") and perhaps Mesmero because he's a great looking character but probably not well known enough for his own individual release.
For the Strange Tales wave, I really am hoping we get the characters you listed - perfect choices! I'd prefer Trapster over Paste Pot Pete since then we'd be able to put together a Frightful Four. I'm not a big fan of Puppet Master though, so I'd prefer that original green Dormammu instead. That's the only difference between our lists.
Seems like a mini-Wasp is the main thing folks are upset they didn't include. FFF might be a tricky sell for me, but it really depends on the cost. Are these your hopes for the Strange Tales wave or has that been confirmed?
@@LylesFigureFiles My hope’s cause looking through Strange Tales issues these are the ones that make the most sense except Plant man, they’ve already doing Nick Fury sr. and Dum Dum they already done Clea,they could do a Contessa, Maybe Umar Clea’s mother but I doubt it the ones I listed are figures every one would want they’ve done Hydra but not a Hydra Supreme , a Dreadnaught could be on the list if you have CLZ comics app you can see all the Strange tales issues, Wizard Trapster get’s them closer to finishing the Frightful Four, you get some Doctor strange Villians , FF villians, like I said a classic Warlock ever one wants Pip the troll there’s a lot to do with Strange Tales, there’s lot of deep cuts to dive into.
I do love it. Its a must but i do think this should have been part of the Haslab and Hasbro is really starting to detiriate

This 2 pack looks amazing and the figures also look amazing can't wait to get it hey Jeff I have a question I heard some people got early asses to watch the two episodes for Fallout and I only heard two people said they the show is really good but did you get to watch the two episodes and also it's not coming out in April 11th anymore it's coming on the April 10th and that is tomorrow Wednesday
Amazon sent media screeners early so I'm watching it today.

Yeah, they really came out swinging this year! If the Strange Tales wave ends up being the one @docavenger1560 posted, and if we get a 1970s Byrne art style Iron Fist and a classic Kirby Odin...it may well be the best year for Marvel Legends even if they stopped right there!

@@LylesFigureFiles It feels good to have hit after hit instead of constant disappointment, doesn't it? And we're only in APRIL! With so few MCU movies coming out, we're finally getting comic characters. I think that's a big part of it. Man, I hope we get more classic Eternals! I'd kill for Dromedan (a villain no one else probably remembers). I'm all for obscure but cool characters!
