I’m not too worried, I remember when Ant-Man and Yandu also sold out originally. I found both in the stores and was even able to get Yandu on sale for $12. I wouldn’t panic just yet.😂

@@Hulkitout that was just two examples. Most of time I have no problems finding Target exclusive. I mean it’s not Warbird has a large fan base. Even Black Widow ended going on sale, at least where I live.
I think Target keeps pre-orders to a tiny minimum. They'll be back up for sale once July's release date hits and all this panic will be forgotten until the next exclusive pre-order sells out.
I know what you mean but it’s still ridiculous and stupid the last three exclusive I have not been able to put in any orders for any of them.

Target pre-orders on the site for their exclusives are always dodgy with sell-outs. ML Ant-Man, WWE Legends Capt. Lou and the Black Series Clone Two-Packs were all sold out for pre-orders and then readily available once the release date hit.
Target is fine for me cause they restock sometimes and they stock in stores but Walmart is a whole different story
its usually always easy to find target exclusives in stores so id just wait till they hit shelves

How did people even get this? I was online at 8:55am and waited till 9. Refreshed and refreshed and it never showed up. Then I found a link on Twitter a couple minutes later but it was already sold out

If I would guess I'd say some folks have bots gobbling up pre-orders at such a quick rate that regular people can't get to them before they overwhelm the Target server and buy most of them up.
Had a feeling that this one would become highly sought after...hopefully they will make more available 🤷♂️

Scalpers already charging $110 & $120 for pre-orders on eBay. The whole idea of a pre-order selling out is absolutely stupid. It's a PRE-ORDER! Shouldn't sell out. Should have a cut-off time. Absolutely NOT a happy camper, Jeffrey. This kind of frustration is the worst part of action figure collecting.
These will be in every store and back up online. You know how this works with exclusives.
Let me get this straight. There are people who were able to get in their preorders (for multiple figures, I’m assuming) and are now “selling” that preorder to someone else for 4 or 5 times the original price? Meaning that figure will be sent to that second person when the first person gets it? And there are people who fall for this?

Try not to get frustrated my man. They ALWAYS do this with so many figures that are Target exclusives. Come the release date she'll be in stores and back available online.

It will even be more frustrating to have purchased this figure from Target to only have it canceled after being prompted to approve numerous preordered release date changes.
What Aaron said. Warbird will be easy to grab whether on shelves or on the website when the release date hits. That's been the case with all their pre-orders for the last two years.
Thank you I am taking a stand against scalpers also. Target said they will have more after release date pre-orders are over but not the only stock they will have. They always have the marvel legends for months to years in stock after release and if this is a marketing stunt by Hasbro I would rather them all go to landfills than pay scalper prices.

I've found Wal-Mart exclusives MUCH harder to find both online and in stores. Target exclusives magically show up back in stock online even if they sell through a case in stores. Don't give up hope!

Both Target and Walmart can be frustrating for pre-orders. I'll wait until Warbird hits the shelves and see if I can scoop one up in store. Worst case scenario, I may just have to pay the "scalper tax" and get her on eBay, smh.

@@LylesFigureFiles I honestly wasn't sure myself until recently...they come through "fan channels" which I think basically means the main online legends suppliers. There are about six or so notable ones. Seems like the exclusivity only really applies to North America. She was available for preorder at all the regular outlets I look at, but I don't know how long that will be for or what limits there are.
I refreshed the page from 8:58 until 9:14. Warbird never showed up on the page or in the search for me until 9:14, and by that point it had been sold out for 17 years.
LOL. Yeah, I was on at 9:05 and she was done. I'm not worried about failing to find her though.

It probably varies by location, but here in Los Angeles, Target exclusives are EASY to find while Walmart exclusives are a NIGHTMARE to find

I get the frustration. They always have a limited window/allotment for their pre-orders and everything sells out only for them to come back when the item is ready to hit stores.
Bots bought them all up and deposited them on eBay for $70. I was there at 9am refreshing, went live @9:04 sold out in less than a minute. So no, I do not get me pre-order in.....
It was definitely live at 9am on the dot. I did get the link prior to it going live from Reddit though so I was ready. When I ordered I’m pretty sure it had a 2 per person limit but I’ve seen others say it was glitching and going up to 10+ per person.
I was also refreshing and I was lucky and got in at 8:00 Central, took almost 2 minutes to get to the buy page, and got mine at 8:02 on the dot. Someone who was timing it told me it sold out at 8:02 and 30 seconds. So I just barely beat the buzzer. But even though I got one, I don't think it's right for it to sell out in less in 3 minutes. If I had been even a fraction slower I would have missed it too.
Seems like the bots were out big time.

There is something to that. I was on the app at 7 am my time MST. Couldn't find her. Minute or two later found her and was sold out

The Scalpers that eat them all up will cancel orders of unsold items before release seeing as they dont want to get stuck with unsold product when hits shelves and price flattens which seems to be a trend

I got to admit, when she was first revealed, I was impressed and had planned to get her. So I waited for the release date to pre-order her, but she was already all sold out in the morning. If I didn't have the 2014 Marvel Legends Warbird/Ms. Marvel figure in my possession, I would be very anxious and stressed out right now. I'm contempt with my 2014 Warbird/Ms. Marvel figure, so if for some reason I can't get it, I'm okay with that 👍

Hoping this one will linger around like the Black Widow did at a couple Targets near me. Just bought that 2014 3-Pack for $99, so at least I'll have a half decent Warbird for the time being. Time to wait to see this one in person 🙃

I have a trick, sooner towards the release date try and ask a target employee if they have the figure by showing them the UPC # for the figure and it will tell them if they have it in the back.
Just because it’s not on the shelves doesn’t necessarily mean they DON’T have it..

Hasbro always do that, same happened with Retro Rogue, and Storm and Thunderbird. If the low production is a reality, she is gonna join Red Hulk, in the list of Target almost impossible deals.

when It involves target could care less if preorders sell ojt when Items eventually ships they are always easy to find in store. The Only time in recent memory where it was a issue was Cobra Island wave in GI Joe Classified everything afterwards non issue

I’m not buying this figure, but at least Target is better at getting their exclusives in stores nowadays for collectors to have a chance. For me Walmart exclusives are the worst to find in stores. I have no confidence for exclusives at my Walmarts. Lol.
Missed it, but if Warbird is this popular makes me think not all successful preorders will ship. I approved delays on tracksuit Mafia for what felt like 2 years haha, then target eventually cancelled it. Happy ending, I was able to get em from EE eventually😂

There’s definitely been a pattern not just with highly desired characters, but mostly w all of the new reveals since the Zabu wave. Cable from that wave sells out, then the shield 3-pack that has nick fury, now all but the iron fist 2 pack sells out for the 85th? I think marvel legends is just overall white hot rn🔥
It's hard to say how hot anything actually is, compared to say, last year or year before, unless we see solid units produced data. They are certainly producing popular characters this year.
@@Banterbear definitely agree, but we’ve been seeing “sold out” more often this year in my eyes. Seems like every new release is gone within the hour outside the Iron Man retro wave of late.
@@rjohr34 Could be some combination of the figures being more desirable, and the numbers produced being reduced to avoid clearance culture and the overproduction (which seemed to be related primarily to the lacklustre MCU lines anyway). That said, take Cable, obviously the most in demand figure of that wave, but I can't see Red Widow or Black Midnight being difficult to get hold of. Same with Blade in the Midnight Suns wave...immediately sold out, the other five are still available months later and I'm personally waiting for sale prices on them.
The Target sell-outs are more to drive folks to the stores. They'll also have her back in stock online eventually once the release date hits.
I called this & im calling now again that this figure is going to be extremely hard to come by online & if you don’t have a local target that stocks figures. Scalpers are going to continuously eat this figure up (especially if it’s already being listed for $100+) & it seems hasbro is decreasing its production to avoid the clearance outlets. I totally forgot about this because you know I’m just living my life & working - didn’t realize today was the day until 10 am I knew it’d be sold out & it was. It sucks. Between this & the yoda 2 pack, it’s really turned me off.

I couldn't get the retro exclusive spider-man from walmart because of the scalpers and now I can't have Warbird because I don't live in the U.S so obviously going to Target in person is not an option for me and once again Scalpers got all the stock available, Goddamit Hasbro.

I watched them drop the Warbird was bought up before they even dropped I watched she didn't even show Intel 8 and she was already sold out Bots 💯 atleast i still have my Toybiz one and my one from the Amazon 3 pack still in the box set never opened it never could find a second one in the wild

Was on 3 minutes before, kept refreshing, got one in my cart, went to checkout, and was immediately told my cart was empty. Only other time I saw this was the bot attack with the COBRA Island (?) Target Exclusive Classified figs that sold in literally seconds. More excited about this fig than anything else they announced this year and now this. Damned scalpers.
You'll be able to get her. Just check the website on July 21 and after. Should be there just fine.

This really pissed me off. I HATE these stupid store exclusives. ALWAYS a problem. They really need to eliminate the scalpers and bots as well. I often miss these because I'm teaching class until later in the day and usually end up missing the early sell out.

This is great-i loved carol as warbird. This was a great time for her, before she became a man-hating charactor.
I really liked Warbird. I haven't been a big fan of Marvel trying so hard to make her the Marvel equivalent of Wonder Woman.

A figure should not sell out in a matter of minutes. I get that we can't have unlimited supply for preorder, but it should be at least a day before preorders sell out.

i just wish they had called her mrs marvel. I know she was warbird for a hot second but it just seems disrespectful to sell her by that name. Much like when they sold the original Captain Marvel as simply Mar-vel. Yeah that's correct but it's also mildly disrespectful to the character and their fans. Now just got to wait for a Mrs Marvel 2. or am i the only one that remembers that character?

I don't understand how Hasbro can't figure out the balance. Either they way over produce figures and everything hits clearance, or they swing the complete other side and way underproduce the figure to where it sells out before most people can even find the link.

Used to hit the Bandai open pre-orders when they were midnight 1st biz day of the month Japan time, then they changed it to random times and you had to follow these accounts to keep up, now i buy maybe 1 thing a month, they lost my $50-$600 month, too much to follow, not fun anymore, too much trouble now

Why Hasbro, Bandai and others piss off customers and let others make the money on the secondary markets? I will never understand, unless they finally explain it? Meanwhile Neca and Jada just make more as needed, maybe others too. I realized there are production schedules, which is why they would change the pre-order date after run #1 sold out, and i think its worth trying to see if people will wait. Some even use 30 days of open pre-orders to define the amount of the run, but some say the subsequent waits are too long on those.... Then some want the money upfront and some want it when the item arrives (which I prefer for budget planning) which can be tough on surprise drops (VAMP) .
Agreed that pre-order sell outs are just weird.

I think it's more Target's way of gauging their order commitment. If they sell out fast, they can still request more from Hasbro.

Nope didn't get it. Frustrated, definitely. Worried I'll miss out? Not really. I think it's dumb that pre-orders can sell out, especially so quickly, but unlike with McFarlane Toys Wonder Woman, I expect these to be available when they actually ship. I don't think there's been a Target exclusive that I never saw show up... excluding some that arrived during the Covid years. I never did see Cobra Island troopers anywhere, and only ever got one thanks to a friend... but I digress. She should show up at some point.

They should be making these figures easy to get and mass mass produced like the 2000s does anyone remember in the 2000s how easy figure were to get ? I do . If they did they wouldn't have these problems

@@LylesFigureFiles sure. But in all fairness and honesty if Hasbro would just price them at 20$ a piece I dont think they would have that problem cause i noticed people buy them for those prices . So why not make them 20 bucks people would buy more if they were that price but that's just my opinion
I live in an area where there aren't many Target stores. I have to drive over 50 miles to get to a city that has a store. Once there, I have to pray that that the store actually has something that I want to purchase. Exclusives are a hassle no matter what store gets them. Every collector doesn't live in an area conducive to collecting figures. It's insensitive to talk about it as though everyone is afforded the same opportunities as you are.🙄
Just like every other Target exclusive including the Clone 2-pack, which sold out for pre-order or the current WWE Legends set, they always sell out of their pre-orders and have them back on the site when they hit the release date. I don't think anyone besides international collectors without Targets will have a problem getting her once we hit July.

Target exclusives magically show up back in stock online even if they sell through a case in stores. You'll definitely have the opportunity to get her once the release date hits.
The real explanation for why it sold out is target exclusive+ discounted 19.99 price + updated figure on a super articulated buck people have been wanting forever = scalper / eBay overpriced disaster

I hate exclusive figures.
They're a necessary problem for us as collectors. It's when the big retailers don't want exclusives that are favorite lines get in trouble.
