The congregation probably dwindled to a small amount of people and they are going to another church. The church may not be abandoned as far as the building, but the people are long gone. Maybe everything is left in place and taking care of with the hope that they will come back and use this particular Church in the future.

I was thinking but this is not an abandoned church because there are beautiful clean starched sharp cloths on the altars and side tables. I saw flowers in a couple of places too. This church also has been kept very clean. If something is abandoned that means no one goes there anymore. Period. Having said that I wish that this beautiful church still had a large congregation and it had stayed open.

This was a true gem of a Church you found Leslie. It almost appears that they hope to restore it since they have clearly not deconsecrated it. If they had, the banners, relics, and vestments would be gone. The thing for babies is the Baptismal Font, and the small reliquary box will hold part of whichever Saint the Church is dedicated to...sent from the Vatican at the consecration.
I’m not a Christian, but I have studied many religions to understand them. Thank you for showing this beautiful discovery to us.🖤🇨🇦

Hi, the thing for the baby is called a Font in the UK and the water in it is used to baptise the baby. The place where the priest sits one side and the parishioner sits the other side is called a confession box or confessional. Such a beautiful church but I do not think it is entirely abandoned because the reliquary box is still there. Awesome video as always, you always show respect to the places you visit, thank you. xx

Hi Lesley, You really found a wonderfully preserved church. I enjoyed watching how you pointed out a lot of architectural details in this
building, as well as historically beautiful interior decorative elements, that are very characteristic for the baroque or late baroque style. -
The shape of the arches and the vault in the church itself looks gothic or neogothic, the same, if you look at the shape of the windows.
Further I would even say, some of the liturgical items are of great value, and so I hope, this unique church does never get vandalized.
That would be such a shame! - Even at that moment of your video, when you put this vestment on your shoulders, you somehow
looked like a very young student of catholic theology, who wants to get the feel of such a liturgical garment (priest or diakon?). -
Of course I couldn't help laughing, because your whole attitude suddenly had something very dignified in a funny way,
when you were walking around in this garment. - I just seriously hope, that nobody is feeling insulted in his religious feelings.
Because I very clearly heard you saying in the video, that you don't want to offend anyone by trying on this beautifully embroidered
garment. I do really remember you completely in all your different explores as a respectful dignified and very compassionate person
with a high sensitivity for everything you are showing to us viewers.
    - So as always I wish you many more successful and happy explores. - Peace to you and your family,
and God bless you. - Kindest regards from cold and now rainy Switzerland.

Love your channel but that church while I a state of decay can’t be abandoned; too clean, fresh flowers, linens look fresh and pressed and there is too much valuable items left behind. That priest robe (can’t remember the official name of the item) are expensive and actually would belong to a priest, I doubt it was just left behind. There are numerous abandoned churches in the US but rest assured the local Catholic dioceses makes sure all valuables are removed, the windows alone are worth a fortune.

Priests robes are called vestments ... I think.

The priest wears vestments. The robe is a cassock and is very expensive! The different colors that are worn are do so for each liturgical season. The baptismal fount is where a baby is baptized.

What a gorgeous Catholic Church. I love the stained glass windows, the statues, even the confessional. Brings me back to my childhood. I smiled when I saw you putting on the priest's robe. I'm sure you were respectful and returned it safely. Thank you Bros Of Decay:)

I wish I was rolling in money some days. I am not Catholic but respect everyone's right to worship as their love for the Lord dictates. I would definitely volunteer to a restoration fund. What a beautiful House of God. What a pity it is falling into disrepair.
