I learned that you are a VERY caring person........and that the world needs more people like you........I also learned the difference between lifespan and healthspan............and that keeping healthy can lengthen our lifespan, but at some point our health will decline to the point there is nothing we can do but die.........so the key is making sure our health span is a long as possible during our lifespan.......Keep the vids coming as you are a treasure.

I’m coming up on one year of my husband passing. He was extremely active so I too was active. However, as he went downhill I stopped being active and waited on him. After his passing I’ve been sedentary, hiding from my reality and only doing the “have-tos” of life. I hurt and I have little joy - when it hit me I’ve not been biking, hiking, DOING. I’d found your channel about a month into this crazy year and I try everything but I’ve not made a point of doing anything regularly. I feel like I’m waking up and I want a healthy active life and I’m going to work on it now. Thanks so much for sharing with us. It is much appreciated.

I'm sorry for your loss. Not feeling up to "doing" is a normal reaction to such a heavy loss. As you feel ready, when you feel ready, move. And move with compassion and love for yourself! 💪

My deepest sympathy. I encourage you to move. I believe if you can start, maybe just start very slow, your mind and body will reward you with positivity. Your husband would want only the best for you in this new chapter of your life. Wishing you peace, comfort and joy in the new year ❤️

As you mourn, try to get social by hanging out with another person even for a little bit each day. Also pets help too. Maybe volunteer at an animal shelter for a little while. All this is to help with the hole in your heart and get you to being active once again.

Condolences on your loss. In my personal experience, it's 2 years to begin to feel like I'm in a normal routine again. And that's only _beginning_ to feel that way. It's taken me longer to actually be able to enjoy life again. "They" say it's a year, and that once you get through the annual holidays and anniversaries, you'll move on. I'm happy for those who can do that, but I give myself time and grace to come to terms with my grief however long it takes. I'm reaching out because I want to encourage you to persevere as you come to terms with your own grief. You'll begin, and then give in, and that's not a failure. Remember that. You'll begin again another time. Especially doing the activities you shared with your husband is going to bring back memories. In those times you might need to take a break and just grieve, and that's ok. It's part of your healing. Give yourself grace and time. ❤

My Mom died April 2013, Dad May 2014 and a brother March 2021. I still get payment checks for my Dad from a electric co-op he invested in. They now make the checks out to me - never much money only about $15 once a year.

Really get a lot of hope from your videos, Matt. Thanks. Now from the ATM (Always Think Muscles) department--I was walking on the treadmill and started to feel some pain on the outside of my right hip. I sternly told my right butt muscle (the technical term for glute) that it needed to activate and stabilize that hip joint. The pain went away, and hasn't been back since. That might sound crazy, but I swear it's the truth. About every exercise I do I'm thinking, "Slow is safe, fast is foolish. Fire, fire, fire, fire, control, control control, control." You're having a real impact on my life, and I'm grateful.

Here's a good one both my mother and my brother-in-law got a phone call from the hospital asking how there experience was when they were in the hospital. They had passed away. Can you believe that.

Hoo boy. I CAN believe it! Check this out: I just got two statements from Anthem Blue Cross telling each of my parents "it looks like you're up to date on your well visits and preventative care! Good for you!" My mom passed away more than a year ago. My dad 8 months ago. 🤔

Healthcare providers really want those good reviews these days! I moved into my current apartment in 2011, only the 3rd resident since it was built, and the first wasn't here long. The second residents were a husband and wife who had finally saved enough to purchase their own home, but during the closing, the husband died of a heart attack. The wife lived here for some years more, and then she, too, died. My adult son and I moved in some months after her death. I'm glad my neighbor gave me the history, because various healthcare providers continued to send surveys for a few years, addressed to the husband! I had been returning the mail after marking it with "No such person at this address," and even, "DECEASED" on the envelope, but they kept sending it. Finally I opened one of the surveys, without looking at any personal information, only marking the first page of the survey, "PATIENT HAS BEEN DECEASED FOR YEARS." I mailed it back in the postage paid envelope, and never got another one.

Thank you for addressing this subject. We are not taught about death except to fear it. Only thru experience and age can we appreciate what a 'gift' death is. Please do not judge me. My fear is not death but having to return, to be reborn. I am 76 yr. old. Peaceful journey to all of you. The path we walk is ours alone. Make good use of that path.

Lol, good luck with the mail. You might look for one of the free services that unsubscribes people from the junk mail lists. Mom has been gone for 15 years, but I was still getting mail occasionally until I did that trying to work towards zero waste a few years back.

I appreciate your knowledge and your dedication to your profession. I have been a martial artist and trainer for over 25 years. I now have hip arthritis and lumbar disc herniations. Pain is a way of life for me. I don't know where this will lead, but I do know this. If my hope is in things of this world, then I have no hope for we all die. All things pass away, but the God of Heaven does not. Jesus defeated death and offers us eternal life through Him. This is our hope. Believe
