Natasha Cloud - Push Pace Playmaker

Natasha Cloud. 2019 WNBA champion. 2019 WNBA All-Defensive Second Team. The last time Natasha was officially on a WNBA floor, she was hoisting the trophy because the Mystics had JUST won it all. She took last season off - if you don't know why she did, please go ahead and look that up - but is now primed to take the wheel of an offense constructed by Mike Thibault, a magical offensive basketball mind.
Here’s the thing about Tasha Cloud - her counting stats aren’t going to blow you away but they do always go up come playoff time. The true value of Tasha comes when you actually watch the games. There’s no a single team out there that would say no to a push pace point guard who is an ambidextrous finisher, willing passer, and raises the floor of any lineup they are a part of. Plus, you don’t make an All-Defensive team in the WNBA unless you are spectacular on that end - the two runners-up to the Defensive Player of the Year winner Candace Parker were on the 2019 All-Defensive Second team along with Tasha: Alysha Clark and Alyssa Thomas.
There’s really not a whole lot for me to say besides that I really enjoy watching Tasha and her selflessness and energy are contagious. She’s a leader both on and off the court. As someone who has worked JR NBA/WNBA events for the Washington Mystics and worked an event where she was the featured athlete, I can tell you I have never encountered a more giving person. She went out of her way to give as many kids attention and even asked the ones who were turned away to come back. She stayed well beyond her scheduled appearance to interact with the fans. She’s beyond a class act and while you should celebrate Cloud as a player, her activism is what puts her above and beyond. You can read a little bit about that here: www.forbes.com...

Even though I'm not from the US what she is doing off court is deserving of that new KAJabbar social award. Natasha perhaps took more risk for the greater cause than any NBA player. Respect!
