Unfortunately, this dravida king is mentioned in bhagavatham and vamana purana, as a pious and powerful king who was sent to Sutalam by Lord vamana. Also as shown in this video , vamana is worshiped in " pookalam " smeared with rice batter and it's been called " mathevar" or " trikkakara appan / vamana moorthy "

Beautiful video. However, please play a little mpore attention to details. Mahabali had invaded devaloka and banished the gods from Swarga. Vamanamoorthy took swarga away for the gods without hurting Mahabali because he is His devotee. In return .Mahabali was granted the kingdom of Sutala and Vamana became his doorkeeper to honour his truthfulness and bhakti. This little piece of information when missed, gives rise to false notions . Even the Keralite minister Thomas Issac disrespected Vamana in his tweet today because of his ignorance on this matter. So, please take care from the next time.

Mahabali was a great spiritual seeker and Lord Vamana blessed him with full redemption and elevated to eternal existence (SuThala) from the mortal plane (body-mind-personality). The real story of Mahabali and Vamana is distorted by the pseudo-secular governments in Kerala for years. Stop manipulating the pure spiritual wisdom shared in Srimad Bhagavatam. Nobody sends Mahabali to Netherland. Mahabali was a great spiritual seeker and he attained the SuThala (state of goodness) by meeting Vamana.
There is nothing political in this it is different from the puranas, India is diverse so everyone has their own beliefs and practices....
