    Just knit two of these, so cute and easy! Thank you Diana. The second one - I did a folded hung hem in place of the ribbing, it looks great!

    Thank you for another wonderful video. You clearly demonstrates how it is possible to knit really interesting patterns on any flat bed machine simply by putting needles in and out of holding position. This is another 'must do' project for friends little ones.

    The computerized machines help with the design and stitches, but they don't do things like this. There are things that you have to manipulate with the features of the machine, to get the results. That is the beauty of Machine Knitting!

    Diana, thanks for the interesting video. Your hard work is appreciated very much. Is there an easy way to convert this pattern for an adult size hat? Thank you!

    • @MSlattery513
      @MSlattery513 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Not Diana, but you'd need to cast on more stitches for the height and knit more repeats for the width. I'm going make this baby hat as a gauge swatch. After it's finished, I'll calculate how many stitches to cast on, then how many repeats to knit in order to fit my head.

    Diana, I see there is a question about converting this pattern to an adult hat size, which would be awesome, but how about converting to the standard or mid-gauge? Is there a formula we can use to convert this super-cute pattern?

    • @MSlattery513
      @MSlattery513 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not Diana, but I convert bulky patterns to the midgauge by increasing the tension. It works most of the time. I'd knit this at T8 instead of T6. Since it's a hat, don't need to match the size exactly.

    Hello love your lessons. Please give insight on where to purchase a bulky machine

    • @dianaknits
      @dianaknits  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I prefer to purchase local enough that I can go see the machine and pick it up. Are you near a knitting machine dealer? If you give me your location, I might have a referral for you. A good dealer will help you get a machine that works well for you. If it's necessary to ship the machine, a dealer will know how to do that.

      From Indiana, I would contact the Knit Knack Shop in Indiana. They can advise you about a great machine and they can also probably sell you a good, reliable one.

      Diana Sullivan thanks I forgot about her. 4 years ago I purchased a Brother KH551 and KR552 for $200. I had a bond and was trying to move up. At the time I could not find any information. I made 5 sweater but could not get rubber to work so I put knitting up and start hand knitting and machine quilting. I recently decided to give it another try. I was looking for a bulky machine. When I purchased The brother I thought I over spent, however I got a bargain. The price now is $1000 that is without rubber. Knit knack shop is a two hour drive. Thank you I will treat myself to a weekend out. I will take the new machine and see if I wasted money this time. $280 for brother KH 910 and color changer. What do you think? Still looking for bulky

      As long as it's in good working order, it's great. Before you go to the Knit Knack Shop, phone them and tell them what you are looking for. Sometimes Harold refurbishes machines and has just wonderful stuff at very reasonable prices. He really is a great repair guy and I know a machine you get from him will be a good one.

    • @MSlattery513
      @MSlattery513 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Diana has electronic knitting machines, but not all knitters do. Knitters with manual machines need patterns and techniques to knit more than plain stockinette.

      @@MSlattery513 This pattern can be completed on any knitting machine that can do short rows. Short rowing does not require an electronic machine.
