Doug, I’m from Bangladesh and Its great and appreciated that you tried to explore by yourself in Dhaka. People are definitely friendly (!!) but I would really suggest find some proper guide who can help you to explore better. If you don’t know anyone may be you may try to contact the renown youtubers in Bangladesh who might help you. I just want you to experience as much as you can within the two weeks. Best of luck.

I agree. It is best to get a reliable guide. You can contact Parjatan Corporation, it is semi government and can provide you proper and secured guide. That is , you are still there in Dhaka.

Being a Harald Baldr fan myself, whom I consider a master of raw travel vlogging, I'm happy to see a foreign traveller trying out the raw local experience in my country. This is the content TH-cam needs. Btw most of the successful barbershop videos don't have many cuts in them, they are mostly uncut. There is an ASMR element to them. I hope you'll figure out a way to adapt to that format. Anyway good luck on your trip, please do check out other districts of this country as much as you can, cheers.

Doug, you're a real adventurer. Your idea of exploring the old Dhaka with people you just got acquainted with is amazing. You have showcased a part of the people and how they go by in old Dhaka on a day-in day-out basis. The old Dhaka is actually much bigger and I hope you will take out a little more time to explore many of the cultural facets and heritage of old Dhaka.

16:56 Majar is very different than a Mosque. Mosque is for praying and is open to everyone (seen as public property). But a Majar is a private place centered around a cult of personality. Usually, it's centered around a famous preacher and runs on his followers' money making the famous person ultra-rich. Even their grave is built in its premise and the majar is inherited by his descendants to continue the "business". Majar is a billion-dollar industry in Bangladesh (similar to some churches centered around famous preachers in USA)

But it seemed to me the most tragic
It is very sad for us that you have made our country smaller despite having so many good BAP restaurants and Bonabibi hotels. And I think it has made our country smaller
We try to keep our country safe and in a good place, which is enough for the visitors. And we already have a good place. But please do not make our country small. Today's video will be seen by thousands of people and they will think ‌ Our country is very small but our country is not so small please do not do that. Thank you very much for coming to Bangladesh Thank you so much Please don't do that
