New Valve Cover Gasket Set from 1AAuto.com 1aau.to/ib/1AEGS00324
The valve cover seals the top of the engine, keeping the environment out, and engine oil in. When the gasket breaks down and begins to leak you can have a mess, or eventually, potential engine damage. This video shows you how to install a new valve cover gasket set on your 2000-2006 Chevy Tahoe.

Just a warning that I tore a few grommets in half by installing them using the method shown in the video. I had better luck putting the grommet on the bolt and then installing it in the valve cover. The brand I used was Fel-Pro. Besides that I appreciate the videos!

I was just going to comment that also. Had to use one of my originals as broke the first one I tried. All the rest I put them on first before installing them into the valve cover.

I've found the easiest way for myself to do all the valve gaskets. Is taking the air intake off and I also replace the oil pressure sensor at the same time, because chances are if the valve covers are leaking so isn't the oil pressure sending unit. It makes it easier to remove the valve covers and install them. So air intake off, coil packs off, valve covers, then go in the steps in reverse.

To keep the gasket in place I put it into the grove and held it in front of an electric heater for a few minutes while holding the gasket in place. Eventually it relaxed enough to stay. I did not have to use any gasket sealer to hold it.

About to do this repair myself as the passenger side is leaking/spraying onto the header heat shield...I'd recommend to check your rear main seal as well as your oil pan and pick up tube O ring if you're having some "oil issues" or "oil pressure issues" with high mileage on you 1500 Sierra/Silverado

I used a little oil and put them on the bolt the way you install a tire, put one side on then push the other side on. I Cleaned them off then popped them into the valve cover.

Question. So the valve covers on my engine do not have that intake vacuum line port/hole. But my throttle body has port for a vacuum line. Do i have the wrong throttle body?. I bought the 2001 Tahoe and i dont believe it has the original engine. I believe its a 4.8l
