    I’m currently a junior in college and I major in math and minor in business do you think this career fit my major?

    • @modupeolukanni2027
      @modupeolukanni2027  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes maths and business is very much relevant for a career in finance. As it is very analytical and employers love people with a maths/analyst background.

    I'm a 16 year old in high school and really want to go into finance, don't know if I should go into pure finance or investment banking or equity or consultancy. Any tips except do what you love, can you explain in quite simple terms without sacrificing too much info what you do in those fields ?

    • @modupeolukanni2027
      @modupeolukanni2027  2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Thank you for watching! And that is a great question! One thing I can say is that early on in your career is great to try different roles to see what works. So, apply for roles in all those fields and see what role you get. I would defo encourage going into investment banking/equity if you get the chance as those roles are a lot harder to secure than pure finance roles. Then once you secure it, you can tell if it’s for you or not and then it will be a easy jump into pure finance as you have experience already and pure finance is easier to get into. Investment banking/equity is more interesting as is not only number crunching but you’re doing company research, understanding financial assets, some economics involved there and those roles are very high paying. Pure finance roles is more number crunching in comparison. But at the end of the day you never know which is right for you until you try them. You’re very young so I would suggest you do a lot of internship/get a placement year at uni!!! This is the best way for you to know what you like and don’t like. Hope that helps

      Thanks so much! Work life balance is good. You may find yourself working later during really busy periods usually. But it is good to set boundaries. Hope that helps
