General 4L80E Information

  • I shot this video on the fly while I had both an early model(97 older) and later model (98 newer) design 4L80E apart on the bench. it's definitely not the greatest video but I hope you find something in it useful that you can use when going to buy a core or search for parts.

    I used to build a lot of 400's for bracket race drag cars. It's nice to see the difference's up close. Good video.

    I enjoyed the madness. I watched a hundred videos on the floor L Series and so forth and I'm trying to get self-taught so I can do a few jobs in my garage. I really like the video I really like you you're smart guy thank you for sharing your knowledge

    FYI Its also 97 and up not 98. I have a 97

    So basicly 4l80e is good for 1000hp and th400 is good for 2000hp++++. Is that true?

    Wow thanks I have a 4l80e putting it in my 62 Chevy c10 with a 496 hoping to get some power out of it. Don’t know where to start
