it is cool how they have 1:1 models of their models on display. didnt realize they had some many ships and planes too. thanks for taking us on a tour with you
Wow, I still own a few Tamiya kit models made in the early 80s (Made In Japan). Unopened. Too lazy to fix them due to busy work schedules. I'll leave them as they were
If that Tyrell P34 (six wheel F1 car, 1976 and 1977) is original it must be worth quite a lot of money. Thank you for sharing this video, it makes me want to visit Japan and the Tamiya HQ. When was the open day to visit thr Tamiya HQ? Do the other model companies (Hasegawa/Fine Molds etc) also have open days?
Yeah it's an awesome car, I'm not sure if original or not! You can visit Tamiya at any time, you just need to apply/book on the website (it's free). Just Google Tamiya headquarters. This was an extra special open day because of the Shizuoka Hobby show, so there was extra displays and many staff on hand to explain things. I'm not sure if you can visit those other companies sorry. I think Aoshima you can visit.
This year, the open area of Tamiya Company is much smaller than that of previous years. When I went there in May 2019, it opened the area of the third floor and the area of the fifth floor, and the company had a special sale on Saturday and Sunday morning, and there were many cheap discount models for sale. I also went there this year, and I was very disappointed.
I hadn't been before but I was definitely underwhelmed with some aspects. Especially the sales area. They were advertising the new Phillipines production plant and many of the staff there were over from Philippines for training. Maybe times are tough.
Planning a trip to that area in December, and along with Mt. Fuji, this'll be top of the list! Thanks for the preview 👍.
Nice one. Just check their website, this was a special open day, you might need to sort of pre book a visit any other time.
@@RikkiRuckus Yes, the website says you need to 'apply' at least a few days before, but I think it's just a formality to keep things orderly.
Yeah they do love order!
To visit Tamiya and Honda HRC would be like Heaven on earth. The vintage RC vehicles brings back great memories. Beautiful place.
The vintage ones were amazing. I'm an 80s baby but never realized they went back so far

Thanks for sharing. That place is awesome.
Absolutely incredible amount of models. That would be an amazing tour.
So many things that I want to buy!
I can't imagine the wallet restraint that was used during this filming.👍
So cool 👍
Wow boleh nih saya ikut k pabrik Tamiya

@@capricorn839 yeah I've got a few I've had for over a decade sitting untouched!

👍👍👍
What about the RC racing circuits?
No circuits at the headquarters
@@RikkiRuckus hmm looks like i was confused with a different tamiya hq :/
They did have a mini 4wd track, see at the end of the video. Perhaps the tamiya store in Tokyo has tracks ?
@@RikkiRuckus not it tokyo. Actually the place i was thinking of was just up the road from you. Its called tamiya circuit. You might have to go back 😅
@@BrendanRaymondKoroKoro oh what a bugger, I didn't realize it was there, could have killed 2 birds 😂

ill be there asking for Job at least cleaning the floor🤣
Mungkin kalau beli RC di sana harga nya murah, di Indonesia harga nya lebih mahal
i think that tamiya models are a ripoff because most cars share the same parts/chassis
Err even real cars also share same parts and chassis😂
So cool 👍
