I really like the fact of how this episode encoureges to buy more second -handed boards. The best way to recicle is not recycling but reusing. Love the series! Greetings from Spain!
@@xisotopex I've always wondered about re-shaping?! There are so many old/used logs, eggs, and janitor sweepers out there... -you could cut one or three freshies out of each one of those yellowing, semi-petrified logs?!
@@Tricklarock just dont fuck up an actual classic board. its totally possible.... I took a 7'6" "funboard, cut almost two foot off the tail and reshaped it as a swallow tail twin... didnt even pull the glass of the front of the board, just the tail where I cut a swallow and pulled in the hips a bit....
This series as much as it goes against modern hi performance progression is so relatable and that's the fun part of it. We all have mates just like these four haha so sick!
Used is the way to go! especially if you break boards, the best I got was 5 siiick boards for $400 (dumpster diver, neck beard, custom step up, psych germ, and el bandito) all pretty good condition.
Same here, got a fun as 5'10 twin fish for $70 on facebook marketplace. Was in good condition but shit build quality. Surfed it for a year, sold it for $150
@@vaughnsigal4560 thats the way dude, find something fun that the owner has no care for anymore so sells it dirt cheap. Surf it and have a blast, then make a profit on it lol
@@benjowells5407 100% haha. I know loads of people who have only ever bought new boards, and think I'm a peasant for flicking through gumtree. Meanwhile I'm having way more fun, not worried about compression dings either.
Love this series!! This is a great intro for people just getting into surfing, much moire relatable than purely hi performance surfing. Stay stoked!! 🤙
5'11HS love buzz mint condition bought at northern beaches including pads for $120.- still in love with it two years and multiple flights later. that carbon rail construction is solid af. perfect allrounder as long as there is not a lot of wind. most sustainable board buy i've made out of roughly 35 boards in my life.
Well done film of fun in the sun surfing! Great concept. Very entertaining. This series reveals the simple pleasure and pure joy of wave riding. Good boards, good waves, good mates, good fun! Those are the elements that have kept me stoked and still surfing for the last 60 years! Many thanks for sharing.
The term free surfer is fucking hilarious there’s plenty of professional skateboarders that don’t enter contest and no one calls them free skaters. They’re just professional surfers who are talented and smart enough to realize they don’t need a fucking lame tennis tour!
I scored 3 boards with board bags for $400 SharpEye Disco 5’6” (Brand New) Custom SharpEye 5’10” (Used. Great condition) Custom PlusOne from OB shaper George Gal 5’10” (small nose ding, Great Condition) Dude was rich, gave me the hook up on OfferUp
I got a brand new Quite Flight board in FL for my like 16th/17th birthday maybe. Some evil demons stole that shit from a house party I threw. Went in my garage and walked out the side door with my brand new board. I was out for blood but never found out who actually stole it.
I love channel bottom boards! While Byrne is an undisputed, prolific, master, I love the subtlety of Hoy Runnels channel bottoms (long time San Diego shaper that worked for G & S, Rusty, among others.)
Last time I surfed was 1997, so these types of boards are the only thing I've ever known. Can't say I even know any of the modern advancements in technology.
there are space for 2 grub screws per fin, you only need one, surely someone could have spared 2 grub screws, stuff some wax into the fin slots, then put the fins in, most likely they would have stayed in

also re-shaping is valid and can sometimes get some great results...

Surprised Krooky picked up that board for so cheap. Nipple hairs from previous owners usually cost extra
Krooky is gonna make the most incredible comeback one ever saw !
Fun series, thank you Stab.
This series is already so sick
Love it!!!!!!!!!

I think Krooky is about to dominate the line-up. Take his fins out.
This show is awsome, better than any surf contest and these guys are freaking good

It was stolen from my mates porch. Hotter than 2 rats f'n in a wool sock.
Soli Shreddin so hard🌊🔥🌊🔥 would love to see him take that board to Pipeline and go Ham
"the tip is my new shaper".... this is the future! thanks ozzy

Killer series , loved every episode and I don’t even surf.
Go surfin
Been waiting for this💯💯💯
That's the first time I've seen the phrase "late 1900's." Oh my.
soli’s rail surfing made me have a trouser crisis
I love channel bottom boards! While Byrne is an undisputed, prolific, master, I love the subtlety of Hoy Runnels channel bottoms (long time San Diego shaper that worked for G & S, Rusty, among others.)
just ordered a Ben Webb (son of Greg Webb) custom a few weeks ago, due to come next week. so keeeeeeen!
Good ‘ol goofball surfin. Love this stuff
Soli on that Byrne is pure beauty
Krooky all the way!!! New Zealand 🇳🇿 is going for you!!
I should not have pressed play on this for a 'break' at work! So good haha.
Seeing these guys rip those boards, just proves I don't need a new one
Damn vinnie and soli looking insane 🔥
watching this reminds me of how fucking bored i am, lawkdwn
Yo it sounds so crazy when you say the “late 1900’s”, so right though lol.
This series is sick, keep it up stab, me likey
TopGear, but Surfing, is a brilliant idea
Parko working the tipping shop after his retirement from the WSL, surviving on donated cases of beers and week old lunch meat.
This was sick! Ripping on old gold! 🤣
I've never seen the nineties referred to as the late 1900s... Surfing was pretty well established by then...
The editing is so good
Last time I surfed was 1997, so these types of boards are the only thing I've ever known. Can't say I even know any of the modern advancements in technology.
I still surf a board from the late 90's
Stab! Choose a winner, ya'll did the same for Monster Air. The people want a winner!
I'm surprised nobody showed up with an old v-bottom.
Loving this series!
Great series!
Love this series
This episode is hilarious…great job
this series is brilliant. i’m over here geeking out and giggling my ass off. thanks!
My hole quiver consists of boards under $100 that I just fix up because I’m broke
Same
Or I get given old boards that no one wants
Soli ripped on that old thing !
Last time I make the excuse that ‘it’s my boards fault I’m not surfing well’
Love this! 😆
Am I e only one who thinks that the Adrian York board looks almost identical to the slater designs sci fi??
i did an indy air reverse on a single fin from the 70's when i was younger
how long parko been running the tip shop for?
I feel really bad for getting new sticks now
That’s where the ol’ used 8.0 wavestorm comes in handy. Didn’t say it couldn’t be a hard top.
The world of surfing needs more of this, and less Olympics
That foot drag carving 3 was sick at 21:42
Shit that water photographers got some balls there’s some big sharks at that beach
This is very interesting to see and what great surfing!!
I drive past the the place that Soli got his board from all the time
The Al Byrne looked good under Soli's feet.
Soli has solid style.
Windansea Surf Club!
I think Krooky’s winged keel fin was last utilized by Cheyne Horan in 1989! Lol
this is like top gear but for surf
Ive never referred to the 90s as the late 1900s but it kinda works
Can never go wrong on a Al Byrne good choice
loved it
I love these videos
Great program very entertaining well edited content bad ass shit
So good.
The guy with the bangs though!! Looks like he grew out a mullet!
there are space for 2 grub screws per fin, you only need one, surely someone could have spared 2 grub screws, stuff some wax into the fin slots, then put the fins in, most likely they would have stayed in
What is the song from 20:53?? So dreamy
Love the crocs krooky
I love this
i love this
Bro I got a twin fin from the late 70s passed on by my grandad, functions pretty well
Parko’s dipole danger dealing Ozzie’s boards
I only buy second hand boards. Easy for a few hundred bucks to build up a collection.
I’ll take as many old surfboards & turn them into paintings
Fark so sick go vinnie for overall champ and legend Aussie hellaircat 420 boys haha yeeewwww
$200 is the lowest I can find anything not dinged to hell in Los Angeles. I did see a $129 semi decent but very old Channel Islands board once.
Australians seem to have the best haircuts, of anyone.
give all of these guys one of kelly slaters elf slipper surfboards from the 90's, and see how they go...
Soli absolutely shredded the fuck out of those waves
20:55 song anyone? Shazam and Soundhound are giving me no luck
