I had a feeling it might be digital only. I might consider it as a support for Tetris and seeing I have Tetris 99 (and some other digitals) via NSO but digital only is not a positive incentive. I guess they wanted to offset the cost of publishing to cartridges. Nintendo should have allowed this to go on cartridges for free as a homage to the popularity Tetris brought to their consoles. They could even charge the maximum RRP and fans would still buy it just to have it on cartridge. A coloured themed cartridge would be nice too.
Happy 40th anniversary, Tetris! Thank you, Alexey, for making arguably the objectively best game ever made, and Henk for continuing its legacy! And to think we'd have a renaissance age for the game, where we've seen an evolution of techniques, new discoveries about the game, records shattered, and groundbreaking accomplishments made! ❤👏👏👏
currently 35usd on steam, that's a tough sell... Tetris is "epic" and all, but it probably would have sold better at 19.99 on release, and eventually at 9.99 after a year. I think it would open it up to a much wider audience as a spontaneous purchase. For most gamers that price tag competes with 1 year old AAA titles, and so it remains a niche title, just for the dedicated/fans/cult/etc. And perhaps that's the plan.
A game as wonderful as Tetris could only be a product of its time. Limitations breed creativity; which is why modern games today will have no lasting appeal.
They better have "BOOM tetris for Jeff!"
And Tetris for Jonas
But will it be neck and neck?
@@windsurfer8824 RIP Jonas :(
Tetris is a legendary game so simple but yet so fun and epic. happy 40 years Tetris!
release a physical edition, and I will buy it. I will NEVER buy a digital-only Tetris game.
Agreed!
I agree with this comment.
they once developed mechanical tetris but the release was cancelled because it was too loud

Uh, but where or what is the gameplay?
t e t r i s is a game.
Alexey Pajitnov. One of the (if not THE) GOAT(S).
$35 for this is a bit steep...
God I love Tetris.
Does this have the NES Tetris variant?
im actually hype. let’s hope it has cross platform versus play 🙏
