Welcome to the Echo Chamber, friend.
StarCraft Broodwar Expansion was one of the greatest "Expansions" ever made. It made the game BETTER and the story went from "Good" to "Great."
So like tft
And it was actually challenging. I decided I wanted to play the old games again and did so. I blew through the first game with ease. The expansion was easy at first, and then it was like I hit a wall. Once you were brought up to speed the kiddie gloves came off and the AI began fighting you HARD.
Yeah, but one single WoW mount made more money for Blizzard than the entirety of SC2, so why bother making new games when people will shell out for mounts?
@@mattandrews2594 This is still such a lie people spreading. No. Not the entirety of SC2, just WoL. And it made more revenue, not more volume (because of costs of shops and physical editions, development, servers, advertisment etc). The whole thing has been relativized with the following expansions, in-game shop and co-op commanders.
@@RichyRich2607 The point still stands, what's their financial incentive to make games anymore when WoW mounts will generate more revenue?
Games used to be made by computer engineers who liked games.
Now theyre made by "game developers" who purchased a university course that was marketed to them as a gateway to easy high paying jobs.
Not the devs fault. Stop buying games from publicly traded companies.
Game dev is probably the lowest paying field in the industry compared to other careers with the exact same skill set. Switch to software engineer and you make at least 50% more.
Someone told me computer related fields are over saturated, so I’m going to the medical field
@@vondreas theres no end on a supply of sick patients
Software engineering is not easy, game development is one of the worst paying branches of it. The main issue is that, if an exec orders macrotransactions, day one DLC or whatever, you have no say in it. You could get fired, lose your source of income, be blacklisted for speaking out. Devs know when something is a stupid money grubbing scheme, but they can't do anything about it.
Blizzard has been on their "last chance" for years now. It's just sad at this point, people really think that Blizzard could somehow just bring it back one day.

The thing that stopped me, was a combination of Dragonfight, following Shadowlands, following BFA...then Diablo 4 ontop of all that....I actually decided to give up Blizzard...and it feels so nice :D This is the first WoW expansion I won't be playing...and to ensure I didn't return, Blizzard added an early access price lol! But Dragonflight was good.
@ForOne814 was thinking the same thing. I don't think this person hates the quality. Wow just isn't a game they enjoy anymore.
This. WoW sucks, I quit Overwatch after the "2" fiasco, Diablo 4 was boring, Hearthstone and COD have become too predatory with their monetization so I quit them too. The only thing that was enticing me to come back was my desire to get into an RTS again, but then I found Beyond All Reason which is better than SC2 could ever hope to be.
So I'm just done with Blizzard as a whole. Don't even have their launcher installed. I originally said I'd consider coming back after Bobby leaves, but even with him gone I just don't care to give them my money again.

### Spaghetti Carbonara Recipe
#### Ingredients:
- 12 oz (340g) spaghetti
- 4 oz (115g) pancetta or guanciale, diced (bacon can also be used)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup (100g) grated Pecorino Romano cheese (or Parmesan, if preferred)
- 1 garlic clove, peeled and lightly crushed
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
#### Instructions:
1. **Cook the Spaghetti:**
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
- Reserve 1 cup of pasta cooking water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. **Prepare the Sauce Base:**
- While the pasta is cooking, heat a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the pancetta or guanciale to the skillet and cook until crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the garlic clove to the skillet during the last minute of cooking to infuse the oil with garlic flavor, then remove and discard it.
3. **Mix the Eggs and Cheese:**
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs and grated Pecorino Romano cheese until well combined.
4. **Combine the Ingredients:**
- Turn off the heat under the skillet with the pancetta.
- Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss to combine with the pancetta.
- Pour the egg and cheese mixture over the hot pasta, stirring quickly to create a creamy sauce. The residual heat from the pasta will cook the eggs without scrambling them.
- If the sauce is too thick, add some of the reserved pasta water, a little at a time, until you reach the desired consistency.
5. **Season and Serve:**
- Season with salt and a generous amount of freshly ground black pepper.
- Serve immediately, garnished with additional grated cheese and chopped parsley, if desired.

Blizzard used to take AGES to make a game, and they made such a polished experience that it redefined the industry with each launch, making massive profits for years. The problem is that after taking so much time they're either unfinished or garbage.
True, but taking 10+ years to make a sequel for a popular IP (*cough* Elder Scrolls *cough*) is pretty damn ridiculous though.
Blizzards issue has been their focus on making money. Everyone wants to make money, but you can 'feel' the intent in modern Blizzard games. When you play Mobile, you can feel the fact that it's all designed around making money and that's why people rip on mobile. People might not be very smart, but we feel stuff very well. There is no heart or soul behind Blizzard game design and it feels obvious to people. And that obviously feels bad.
It ultimately comes down to shareholders ruining everything as usual.

"When it's passable enough that we can convince someone to buy it and believe we will update it"
"When investors decide they want their money back so we release it in whatever state it's in."
Now it's "when we can get away with being sued for selling a turd with micro transactions"
just another Paradox / Ubisoft / Bioware husk of a once-good developer now

Warcraft would’ve been a decent game if they didn’t come out with 200 different games their community is split up between

@@guisellapalacios1751 Thats pretty braindmged, its 2 completely different genres, if they really wanted they could make another warcraft game, but rts is a niche genre even more than mmos, nobody would play it on the long term.
One thing worth mentioning about RIOT Forge. The games themselves were all at least on the level of good. They were made by established indie developers who were given the League IP. The problem is that the indie market is largely filled with mountains of different niche audiences outside the occasional breakout hit. Forge released a number of great indie games, but successful indie games are usually defined as making enough money to fund the next game. While the IP did give the games better marketing, it didn’t change the mainstream player perception of indie title. ie- anything that isn’t a 10/10 in at least one area won’t even be on the radar of 90% of gamers. Charging an IP premium against comparable titles is the final cherry on top to performing below expectations.
It's up to the players to choose Path of Exile 2 instead
Making smaller games will just speed up the death of Blizzard in my opinion.
As a company, they still cling to this myth of Blizzard quality - and effectively a shovelware designed to milk the IPs will kill it - and Blizzard will join the fold of factory line devs.
What they need is to focus on quality, actually making their stuff good.
I mean, seriously - do we really expect people to be happy with people receiving a spinoff or a glorified minigame after waiting nearly 10 years for next Star Craft release or over 20 for next Warcraft? Do we really expect these people to be satisfied with table scraps? I would tell them to go to hell with this kind of bollocks.

They helped destroy that series, what makes people think they will help Blizzard?
@@Kiryu_Kazuma01 Indeed, I don’t trust Microsoft for one bit. I was heavily opposed to the takeover but too bad it went trough
Yeah i never understood why ppl thought anything would change.
All it was is that it's a power move by Microsoft and they just want some more control on the market (aka getting closer to a monopoly, which most companies want).
They will never learn - "last chance" does not exist in mega-companies dictionaries.
This is like the 20th "last chance"
I still havent digested what blizzard did to my Mercy...
Blizzard spin off idea:
Waifu simulator with your favorite blizzard waifus; Kerrigan, Sylvanas, Lillith, etc
Considering how much they used to simp for Sylvanas that they destroyed the foundation of Warcraft lore for her they might as well go and make *World Of Sylvanas: The Dark Lady Returns*
Getting into a hotspring with Illidan and getting ravaged.
Thatd make too much money, theyl never do it 😂
Heroes of the Storm?
@@zachgrim7416 You are not prepared
I cant wait for this small group to create a great game that hits all metrics, but still doesn't make enough for shareholders so they close it down like HIFI Rush
6/10 game didn't sale well? Gamers have spoken!
@@CJ-wh7ik HIFI Rush? it's an 8/10 on most sites, even user scores are 8.8/10
1:44 We don’t actually have phones so it doesn’t count.
The Riot Forge issue wasnt the games themselves they were working with other indie studios to make them anyways, it was just ended at the same time as layoffs for costs.
Back in the day Command and Conquer did this with Renegade - went from a top down strategy game to a FPS, it helps expose new types of players to your franchise when you branch out like that
Baldur’s Gate 1 & 2 are directly linked and 2 can import your BG1 save to continue your character’s story.
"last chance"
The funniest thing about all this is that people still believe in Blizzard
You cannot just make Hollow Knight.
You craft Hollow Knight over a decade, lovingly and with great care.
The reason silksong is taking so much time. It's going to be great!
@@HonestGhost21or suck. Just because one title was good doesn't mean that The other will. Gaming companies, no matter if indie, aa or triple A deserve much trust.
4 years? Been over since panda. I know everybody says the content was good but I couldn't bare babified warlock, especially affliction.
WotLK was the last good expansion imo, cata changed so much, but kinda the point, and MoP is when i felt the enshittification starting to seep in. My last chance was the launch of classic, and even then that didnt hold me for more than a year
Yep, that’s when i dropped off. Cata i could see their changes and it just didn’t become fun anymore.
That’s why Legion was the send off expansion …. They gave us all the legendary weapons they killed off Tyrion Varion Vol Jinn they knew it was their last expansion for them also why we finally had a somewhat conclusion with Sargeras as well Legion will forever be one of the best expansions
The problem with blizzard and other AAA studios is they have gotten to big to be great. They have as many managers as they do development staff. The amount of bloatware employees is catastrophic to the games quality.
Blizzard is still staffed with activists. Anyone remember Jill?
VERY underrated comment.
Lookin aged there man.
I actually deleted my blizzard account this year after giving them about 3 last chances. I don't miss it.
TurtleWoW is everything Classic should have been and more. It feels like a whole new experience, even better than the original because they have the time gap to know what worked and what didn't.
I need to get back into Turtle, been too busy to play for a long while. I want to experience the new stuff they’ve added.
@@Backstabmacro It's great. I'm definitely feelin' the feels and fighting the urge to play like back in the day. The Fallout style radio adds such a nice touch of personality that helps leveling up, and you get some lore reading and killer tunes! I know Blizz is going to steal it 💯
Turtle so good people already forgot about the hacking incident.
@@jenzv1679 Yup, I joined up a week or so after it happened.. & ironically how I found out about TWoW😄
The issue with Riot Forge is that they made 0 NEW customers.
All they did was dragging players away from LoL into their other projects.
This brings no money and even damages your playerbase.
*”Another last chance? THERE IS NO LAST CHANCE!”* -Waltuh Whitish
Last good game from Blizzard: Starcraft II.
Overwatch , heartstone , legion , dragonflight , diablo 4 , Because you dont like them its doesnt mean they are not good games its mean you are an edgy asmonood simp.
@@dimvots6729 oops, woke mind detected...
Absolutely WRONG about Riot Forge. Every game was fantastic. They just had zero marketing for some reason and then recently shut it down. As their internal projects have ramped up. But for quality? No question they were very good games.
ehh. I heard about the games, they were OK. but just ok.
25:00 The perfect example of this, which is always brought up when someone talks about marketing and profitability, is the Nike store at Times Square. The store will always run at a deficit due to rent costs in the area, but Nike will gladly pay that price for the exposure and marketing value of the store.
you have to stop buying and let it go. the original devs are the reason for everything. they are long gone and nobody is replacing them.
Your girlfriend Blizzard is txting you that she's hanging with her friend, while getting her back blown out by Chad for the 9th time. Let her go..
I’m just sick of woke companies.
The real problem with blizzard is that they get feedback but they are such stubborn assholes that they refuse to fix the things that are being called out until people stop talking about it.
I thought WoW was going to be a Warcraft themed C&C Renegade. It wasn't. I still played for 5 years but C&C Renegade was EXACTLY what a FP-RTS game would look like.
The idea, Become the Mc Donalds of Video game development studios. Be horrible at 100 things and just hope customers keep buying the burgers as the price goes higher than a steak dinner.
