I follow you on tiktok! This is a great tutorial!! I’m still gathering supplies for my dino mask so I can get to making my mask and I’ll defo refer to this again!!!^^
Thank you so much I’m currently working on a dinomask also and I cut out the tape for the fur but it isn’t big enough and I’m gonna use patting text time😭
omg this is so helpful! i thought i was gonna pay 15 bucks to get a hood pattern off of etsy, but i can just make my own basic pattern and its not that hard🤡🤡🤡🤡
Hey there! Kinda late, but how do you sew the fur pieces w/ out the fur getting pulled into the stitching? Sorry if it’s confusing lol Also, how did you sew on the zipper w/ out the stitch lines showing up on the other side? Sometimes sewing just hurts my brain :,)
Loved the tut! It’s very helpful and I’ll be using it for the future! One question though, where’d you get the mannequin head from? I’ve been trying to find one like it but all the ones I’ve seen are either way too expensive for me or are just scams 😅
hi its 2:30am and im bored so im replying to random comments! not all information is true im tired- heh- idk- you can do whatever you want to make the pattern as easy to cut and glue etc for you, everyone has different techniques i recommend labeling where the fur goes, the color(if there’s multiple in your design), right/left/back/head(you could do right/left only), and whatever you need to do to make it easy :3
I used half a yard of each colour and that gave me enough for the dinomask and the paws!! If you were making a foam base fursuit head then you may not have enough for paws with a yard of fur though :)
hi its 2:30am and im bored so im replying to random comments! not all information is true im tired- heh- idk- i dont think its possible, but they are fairley cheap, a craft store or online may have it, u can ask around if you have fur the back are u saying its foam or something? usually the back of the yard of fur (or however much u have) is thin fabric
No! It ends up looking terrible and is just unworkable and uncomfortable to wear. Taking that extra time to sew all the fur together is super worth it.
I’m not the creator lol, but it can be! It’s if you have lighter colors on your pattern I recommend doing that, but you can also just paint many layers so the base mask doesn’t show
@@ServalMakesStuff thank you! Because with my first dinomask ive put too many layer and the paint broke(yk what i mean??) 😭🙏 so now im kinda scared bruh😭👍
@@Warriorswcue oh yeah that happened with me lmao, I also suggest putting on some protection for the paint, I forgot what it was called but it was some clear gel kinda thing, it protects it from chipping
@@ServalMakesStuff yeahh hum the thing that you put on your nails XD! i see, ill try with that i guess, and if it doesnt work and the paint still remoce itself then idk
It's not completely necessary but I do recommend it if you want the colours on your design to pop without using lots of paint layers!! Also in reference to another comment you made about your paint chipping off of the mask, sanding down the base layer before painting as well as painting in thin layers and putting a sealant after you finish painting will help with that! For sealants I heavily recommend using mod podge and as for the paint I recommend using acrylic paints :)
@@Moon_Mustang I'm not too sure how to explain it but when you have a tape pattern, it isn't going to lay flat on the fabric straight away, so you cut lines where the tape pattern "bends" to make it lay flat :) (I hope that makes sense)
OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS TUTORIAL!! I NEEDED IT SM!!! 🫶 I have one question if you don’t mind! Where did you get the mannequin head? I got this really crappy one from my local craft store and it’s too small 😂🥲
I borrowed my friends mannequin head but I believe it's from Amazon! The base is only 21" though so you may need to pad it out a bit if you have a larger head :)
Dude 😭, the fact that u HAND SEWED all that is INSANE. I mean I only hand sew everything bc I don’t have a sewing machine
I really enjoy handsewing as it's very therapeutic although it takes longer 😅
@@just_plut0 yeah, but after a while it kinda starts getting really repetitive
This is a great tutorial! I commissioned someone to make mines, but I love seeing videos like these! 🩷
Ik but what if you have a big head like me?
@Casual.dragons Just adjust your headstraps! Also, my dino mask broke so I'm getting a completely new fursuit head
Thank you so much! Im getting a dino mask soon and this will be super helpful!
Thanks! Very helping, i was looking for a good tutorial cuz i had a problem with furring my mask and this helped thanks! ❤

Ahyes, somebody with the super human ability to not get burned by hot glue 😂
No one gonna talk about how the Dino mask is STARING AT US?!😵💫 awesome tut tho
I made "follow me eyes" for him!! It's all an optical illusion :)
Omg Tysm I don’t know where to buy a backlava thingy
I’m not a furry at all but I’m tempted to make a fur mask 🤩

same bruh
Heyy! Quick question what kind of stitch did you use to sew the hood?

The one in the video is my friends but I just bought my own from Amazon!!
Thank you! This is very helpful but with the part where you’re cutting out patterns can you number them to help you? 1:55

Is it possible without a mannequin head and what if the back of the fur is hard material?

How much fur do i need?
Hi! thanks so much, i will be using this tut! :3 quick question, what was the stich you used to sew everything together?
Thanks for the comment!! I used blanket stitch! Though I recommend using a sewing machine if you know how to as the stitching tends to be stronger :)
@@just_plut0 Thank you so much! Im currently working on a suit for halloween and i was looking for a stronger stich for better flexibility :)
do you know the pattern you used for the hood?
The taping it up at the beginning of the video is me making my own pattern!
Question can you hot glue the fur instead of sewing it??
No! It ends up looking terrible and is just unworkable and uncomfortable to wear. Taking that extra time to sew all the fur together is super worth it.
Wonderful tut:3 (how long did it take u to make the neck?)
Not too long! I would say about an hour or two but thats only because I was hand sewing it all :)
Can you do a refurbish?
Wdym?
Really quick question but do you keep the bag in while your putting the good in or take it out
I take it out after i finish making the pattern :)
@@just_plut0 thanks a lot 👍
What were the size dimensions of the fur?
I bought half a yard of each colour! I ended up having enough to make paws out of the leftovers as well!
I had made a fur mask without watching a tutorial this helped me improve than you!
Does super glue work or only hot glue gun work
If you're talking about glueing the fur onto the mask, I would say hot glue guy is the safer/better as super glue may melt the fur fibres :)
@@just_plut0 Oh okay ty!
