The 2022 Jayhawks are not as close as talented as these guys are but they flew under the radar all year long. That 2008 team was special. 38 wins! Most in the history of the program. Beating two #1 seeds to win the title in a year where all #1 seeds made the final four. Greatest tournament ever! That Baylor game where Ku scored 100 without hitting a 3 was a barn burner!
Mason, Crissy, Cindy and I were living in Lawrence in 2008. GLUED to the edge of our seats watching the game. When Mario hit that game winner we went nutz! Cindy, Crissy and Mason hopped into Cindys car to head down to Mass. Mason was standing up, through the moon roof, waving our KU flag. I'll never forget that night.
That’s awesome! Agreed, I was in elementary school at the time but I still remember every second of that game (one of the few school nights I was allowed to stay up late). Couldn’t contain myself when Mario hit the game-tying 3 to send it to OT. Such a great comeback too, down 9 with 2 minutes to go, Memphis had all the momentum, we looked cooked. Massive testament to the team that year and of course Coach Self to be able to climb back into the game in 120 seconds (also props to Memphis for missing their free throws 😂)
I really hope a Documentary comes out on KU’s season this year for 2022 showing starting from late night in the phong all the way to winning the championship jus like they did in this video for 2008 that would be awesome‼️💙❤️

I would've been there.. 2007-08 should've been my Junior year.. That's how I KNOW I missed Gods plan.. Replaced them with my oww selfish ones.
