thanks Alison, I generally try and make sure they are in the patten round up videos/makes videos as a priority, but I think you're suggesting a specific fabric round up video? I could try that, haven't done one for years.
My mother made V1978 in raw silk from Japan purchased during my uncle's R&R during the Viewtnam war. I still have the dress. I cannot wait to make this!
Regarding metallic jacquards, I made a really simple short wrap top with grown on sleeve out of a 1.2 m remnant. Perfect with dressy black wool smooth front trousers for a casually elegant evening look. Almost forgot, but I made a simple shawl collared jacket out of a metallic jacquard years ago and that was a success too. Perfect around Christmas time. It almost became a tree skirt but glad I made the jacket instead. I think that was only 2 m and I searched a bit for a pattern that would fit the fabric available. You don't need a huge amount of fabric.
I made a shirt with your melange cotton you showed two weeks ago! It’s fabulous I can send a photo - where. Do I send to ? It cost a mere £15 to make … what’s not to like! Worn it every day.
This sounds awesome, thank you for sharing. If you have an Instagram account you could share it on there and tag us @sewessentialuk or you can drop it in an email to sales@sewessential.co.uk we love seeing your makes!
It was Simplicity 9469, you can see it here www.sewessential.co.uk/misses-tops-simplicity-pattern-9469 and I think we still have some fabric too here www.sewessential.co.uk/floral-print-cotton-woven-fabric-navy-base
I would love to understand how a full bum adjustment would work (or not work) on a boilersuit or jumpsuit. When I add volume and length to, eg. Flatfront elastic-waist shorts and pants, I find it necessary to use soft, thin, drapey fabrics as there will inevitably be a lot of gathering at the waist. It might create too much bulk for a boilersuit/jumpsuit, unless there is plenty of hip and waist ease in the pattern...
Look forward to seeing all your new fabrics. Would love to see what new fabrics you get in on a regular basis. ❤

Thanks so much Lucy that would be great.
Love that coat pattern and the boiler suit. Great fabric combinations too.
agreed, I think the coat is divine in that beautiful multi coloured fabric and the hot pink too

Wide legs + high waist + anyone under 5'4" = egads! Drowning not waving lol
yes I know some people really don't like wide legs and I am a firm believer you should make what you like rather than follow any trends.
xXX👍👍👍
