The way Sam stopped Cas from talking to Dean at the pyre makes me sad. Because he knows what happens when Dean blames you for someones death and you try to apologise in that moment. Because he's been there when it happened with Charlie... And I love how close they were in S14. They've always been close and all, but in S14 we really got to see it more. There was so much protectiveness and it was adorable! Like, there has always been a certain amount of protectiveness, I mean, in S5 Cas not only stood up to Lucifer for Sam, he threatened to kill someone who he has known forever, if she tried to kill Sam. And in 4x16, when he was trying to find out about the Angel killings and Sam got the info, he then made it clear to Cas that it wasn't Demons and Cas believed in him. Most Angels would've immediately laughed in his face, metaphorically because Angels don't know what laughter is, because he's the Boy With The Demon Blood and an Abomination and they don't respect his opinion at all. They would've either thought him naïve for believing Alistair, or would've believed Sam was on the side of the Demons and was helping them. But Cas immediately trusted Sam's opinion and put aside what he'd been told. Many people believe it's Dean who taught Cas humanity and stuff, and that the Angels aren't always right, but I truly believe Sam had a much larger part in that than people give him credit for. Cas was always told by his Superiors that Sam was evil and tainted and an abomination, but he was quickly showed that they were wrong. With Dean, he was ordered to protect him and help him and believe in him and do what he says and all that, with Sam it was probably the opposite. He was probably encouraged to distrust Sam and all, but he didn't. Dean was the Righteous Man, Sam was The Boy With The Demon Blood. He truly believed in Sam and by seeing that Sam wasn't this evil abomination creature and that he was actually good he realised that Heaven wasn't always right and that people do not always live up to their Destiny or the Angels expectations. Dean was orders, Sam was choice. That's all I'm saying... Something to think about... :)
Sorry, but I can't help but notice how intimate Sam and Cas are in this season? Like every scene, from Sam's overprotectiveness (and literally using his body as a shield to protect Cas - a fucking ANGEL), to Cas's concen for Sam, to Sastiel dads, to "I look at them after you fall asleep at night." Something about s14 Sastiel just hits differently. :D Thank you for this!
I think they got closer because Sam was the first one to truly try to be a father to Jack. Dean wanted to kill Jack, and even when they got closer, it was never the same father-son relationship that both Sam and Cas had with Jack. ❤
I wish there were more Sam and Cas scenes but I think Jared just enjoys tickling Misha's gonads with broom handles too much so we don't have much of these.
I love their friendship so much. You can see that they have a mutual respect and love for eachother, in the way they care for eachother and for Dean. Underrated dynamic, for sure!
He knows that talking to Dean in that moment wouldn't be a good idea for Cas because he's been there after Charlie died... Makes me so sad!!! :'( But, like it's an adorable moment!
Castiel was not kind to Sam in the early seasons, he should take most of the blame for Lucifer being let out of the cage. It nice to see Cas caring about Sam and Sam looking out for him, their relationship has come a long way.
If the fans had all shipped Sastiel instead, we would've gotten it (and not just 1 declaration of love). Jared and Misha were both big fans of the shipping, whereas Jensen really wanted to keep the Dean/Cas relationship brotherly.
I agree! I don’t ship either sastiel or destiel but I would’ve been waaayyy more happier with sastiel, I feel like it would’ve been more mutual between the characters and actors than destiel
Not sure if they would have gone through with Sam loving someone male/ someone in a male vessel. Would love it too, but i can't see that happening in Supernatural. They cared to much for their Anti-LGBT fans.

ikr hahah I 100% blame Jared for the lack of Sam and Cas scenes in Supernatural!

11:23 the way Sam touched Castiel's shoulder ❤
