@@RequiemsACTL I think it's crazy just how modern tacform and it's related contracts are. The idea that (in USAF at least) wingmen are just over glorified cheerleaders even during Vietnam war.
Wonderful, can't wait for the next one. My teams been practicing this type of flying and now to have this kind of detailed visual reference is the best
@@dadnar7615 hey sorry for the late response, i fly with a huge group known as Air Combat Group, you can find all the info here www.aircombatgroup.co.uk/acg-pam-2/index.php#/
One of the important things about flying in formation is how to maintain that formation during maneuvers. Otherwise, any change of direction can ruin the formation for some time. This video covers line abreast maneuvering really well. th-cam.com/video/x0Vke_HZtAE/w-d-xo.html
Lol yeah sorry. The whiteboard and marker font is a relatively new addition now that I've started doing some modern / jet content and wanted an easy way to differentiate them :-)
Question, Is there any place where I could submit a track/tacview so someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong. For some reason my plane stalls and spins during, what feels like, a gentle turn. I'm an absolute noob in flight simulators. (only 'experience' is war thunder RB)
@@RequiemsACTL Wow, I did not expect you to offer to do it yourself. I've just sent the email with the files and a bit more information on the planes/options used. One thing I forgot to mention is that I'm using the 'expert' difficulty preset. Thanks again for the offer.
Yeah you'll reduce separation John because of the slower speeds this makes your turn radius smaller, so try and keep yourself a little outside one turn radius of separation.
Hi. This is the 3rd comment I'm writing so that you dont miss it. Can you please do a tutorial on torpedo bombing? Say in the short sunderland. Thanks in advance.
Hi Mobin, yeah you don't need to write 3 comments. I try and answer whenever people ask me something. It's Cliffs of Dover that has the Sunderland right?
THIS The "basic fighting unit" of air forces is a two-ship and they fly for the most part in line abreast or "tactical" online flight simmers should (if they want to fly realistically) learn tactical and learn REAL fighter tactics and maneuvering just bite the bullet and get acclimated to it
The most common issue I've seen is people flying but in a very sucked position behind their lead so they can see them when looking straight ahead. Going from that to looking straight to your left/right and flying formation that way is a hard adjustment to make, but hopefully more people can start trying it
Love your tutorials!
Thanks Waterguy :)
Ahhhh, it's like getting home! Hearing the chalkboard... sigh!!
Sorry mate, modern topic...modern board LOL

Good stuff Req.
It's the only way I like to fly with a wingman. Even flying like this you can still be jumped as I find out most sorties!
Yep. All it takes to be padlocked on a target for a few seconds and BOOM you get hit lol
Every vid a gem. Thank you sensei.

Thanks Adrian, it's different to what a lot of sim pilots are used to but once you're accustomed to it things work well
What is your team Adrian out of curiosity?

Don't forget, when looking backwards also look under your tail, that is where a bandit could/will hit you from.
Yes, that is how we do it.

Good stuff!
Man the Hurricane needs the nickname "little Il2". It just soaks up damage! Nice video though :D
I always have a good time in the Hurricane, right up until when I die which happens a lot in that airplane. Just love that engine sound.
Great stuff! Been looking to try this in Flying Circus - presumably we decrease the separation to account for the slower speeds?
