From my understanding, he's trying to say that he is a collateral descendent and not direct descendent of ike which means that ike might not had kids of his own. Maybe Priam is a direct desendent of ike's siblings.
Tori Vega but doesn’t he implied he is a direct descendant? Even in the Wikipedia it says how he is Ike’s direct descendant and Mist’s I detect descendant. I’m the kind of person that believes that that is true since it is what’s implied in the game unless the game states otherwise since it is what the creators intended. Sorry if I sounded rude, I’m just stating my opinion :)

I personally believe ike had no children nor a lover since he's a JRPG hero and he's cool like that and somebody mentioned that Priam isn't canon (not created by the original team who worked on tellius). Priam is probably a commemorative character.

Soren acts more like Ike's mom than best friend in the C support.
Sometimes, that’s what you need from your best friend. To have them act like a parent, I mean.
"Priam exists so that means Ike got a girlfriend"
In the Japanese version, Priam's name is Paris. Paris used to be Ike's original name before they changed it to Ike. You can see Ike as 'Paris' in an early Nintendo 64 screenshot(PoR was originally developed on N64 before they switched to GameCube) Paris represents his paralogue as an easter egg and a homage towards said development. He is not canon. It is correct that Mist is not involved here. Ragnell is not strictly inheritable from bloodline. And why everyone is suspicious of Priam/Paris. Ike says his heart shows love for Soren in a Tellius drama CD and the memorial book states that their hidden conversation in RD connected their hearts together. Ike only has two paired endings. Both are with men. Soren only have one paired ending in RD; Ike, and Stefan in POR. The only other time this happened in Fire Emblem series is when Lucius and Raven had their endings together. This went outside the traditional norm. There's strong evidence that both of them are into each other in various medias. In a Valentine skin in Heroes, both of them have a skin together. There's even more if you count on the Japanese version of POR where their lines have a whole other meaning to their dialogue.
You have to remember that Japanese games in terms of showing romance is through poetry and context clues. This was especially in the early 90's to 2000 where LGBTQA+ and Church Crosses would be banned if they were seen or mentioned. Hence why there was a lot of queer baiting back then.
Also it would take some insane jumps to make Tellius canon with Marth and Chrom's universe lol.
@@angel_aeon You can probably theorize that Awakening timeline caused a paradigm shift in all of the FE timelines, such as the great flood of Tellius that allegedly shaped to Archnea ala FE1. But that still doesn't make Priam canon. If he is canon, which I doubt due to aforementioned message, it's not guaranteed that he is a blood descendant of Ike or Mist or anyone in their family. It could just be a complete rando hero who happened to be able to wield Ragnel and thought he was related to Ike because of it.
Hmmm, because of the lack of explicit romance shown in the games, I just view Ike as kind of asexual. I believe he's not really into romance and is more focused on the way of the sword to test the limits of his strength, see what's out there in the world, and do good where he can. I mean, it's easy to see that Ike isn't sexually interested in women, but that does not automatically mean he's sexually interested in men either. The fact that his paired endings are only with males may mean that Ike simply has stronger bonds with the male characters than the female ones. Also, whether Priam is canon doesn't really matter to me. But in the face of enough evidence, the main one being the fact that Ike only has paired endings with males, the view that he's gay is not baseless; it's just that he gives off asexual / disinterested in romance vibes to me. That's just how I perceive his character.
Also, I sort of view Ike and Soren's relationship as similar to Zelgius and Sephiran, as well as Sothe and Micaiah, in the sense that it's a special bond between a branded and someone they trust. I don't see them merely as just friends, but not as lovers either. Something more like partners for life, an eternal bond.
I feel like sometimes we have a misleading tendency to just view all close relationships in fiction (and perhaps even in real life) in a sexual context (for example, some people insist that Sherlock Holmes and his partner John Watson are gay for each other, which is just ridiculous), when that's not necessarily the case. Another example would be "I want to eat your pancreas", where the boy and the girl are close, but they aren't in love with each other romantically, and the movie makes it clear that their relationship really isn't romantic. However, in Fire Emblem's case, since this isn't really made clear, you're still free to view them as canonically gay if you want; I'm just inclined to believe that their relationship is more of something else.
@@restiana1613 Also, the inherent problem with the Priam argument is that the vagueness of whether he's canon or not allows people to commit an appeal to ignorance. Because Priam is not guaranteed to be canon or not, or because it is not guaranteed that he is or is not in Ike's bloodline or Mist's bloodline, people can just make claims in either direction. The way I see it, until Intelligent Systems confirms one case or the other, people should be free to just believe what they want about him. I personally headcanon that Priam or at least the concept of Ike's descendant/spiritual successor is real so that I can imagine that Chrom learned Aether from him in the wilderness of Valm (in order to surpass Walhart in combat prowess) as a story event, and not just a random gain from class promotion.
@@angel_aeon Not really... all you have to do is just headcanon that Tellius is another continent in the same world, and that Ashunera's deeds are focused mainly on Tellius. Remember that life had already existed before her (the Zunanma). Other continents like Archanea could easily have had the dragons like Naga and Medeus exist independently from the goddess. Just make it so that Ike wanders until he reaches Archanea and settled down there, or if you don't like that Ike has biological children, just headcanon that he taught an apprentice and passed down Ragnell to him. The latest line of which would be Priam.
Then again, Intelligent Systems makes little to no effort to connect the worlds of the protagonists back to Archanea after the Shozo Kaga era games (last of which was Genealogy and Thracia). Awakening was an exception, while Fates connections with Marth and Ike are highly dubious and are also just amiibo content. This could suggest that any connections, especially with the GBA and Tellius games, are highly unlikely to be canon unless explicitly stated otherwise. Still, they could make it work if they really tried, using reasoning such as what I had provided above.

I lile to just read text, imagine and picturing a character voice in my head, their mannerism, their attitude, their vibe. Way way more immersive and compelling with the story imo

@@pamelahermano9298 i didn't find TH voices acting good. It was less aggravating than Engage but it was mostly still bad plus the writting sometimes was off. FE was just better without voice acting and over the top anime waifu artstyle

I empathize with Soren so much. Living a wretched lonely life, being hated for just existing. It was so surreal as a teenager hearing him talk, it was like listening to myself.
His life was still FAR harder than mine, but still shocks me to this day how alike we are. I’ll never find an Ike for me, but perish alone and despised.
I just wanted you to know, you aren't alone. There's many Soren's out there like you, maybe within that, you can find another and become each other's Ike, or even find your own, with time. So don't give up and say you're doomed to rot while you still stand. There's hope yet.

One guy (Ike) was not. Therefore, Soren went to search for Ike.
Soren never cried. But Soren did criy and got emotional at the end of the sequel, and Ike was there for him to consolidate him. That is not proof that Soren or Ike is gay or straight.

Maybe one day. At the end of Radiant Dawn, Ashunera returns after a thousand years of slumber, and she promises to do right by the Branded this time.
Some time later, Awakening takes place (we know that it's the same universe and continuity because of Priam's existence) and indeed, half-bloods like Nah and Yarne get the best of both worlds, with full ability to shift.
Soren, being a royal dragon Branded, has a very long life expectancy. By the time Awakening takes place, he should still be alive somewhere out there (unless he died to unnatural causes somewhere along the way), and not even all that aged. He should be in a similar boat as Tiki, in that regard.
So if these new generations of "Branded" have full access to their bestial birthright, what about the Branded who are still alive from the Tellius era?
I like to think that Ashunera wouldn't just forget about them, especially since a lot of them were instrumental in reuniting the chaos and balance within her and making her see the error of her ways, so... Did their Laguz blood just simply awaken one day? Did all their other latent traits manifest at the same time?
If so, that must've been quite the adjustment for them!
I've always hoped that we'd get to see an older, wiser Soren one day in some future Fire Emblem game.
A version of him who has had centuries upon centuries to reflect and heal, who has perhaps finally found a reason to live that isn't a long-dead loved one.
A version of him that is perhaps... a bit more _dragon_ than he used to be. ;)

I would like to remind everyone that there is an openly gay character in Radiant Dawn - Heather. When Intelligent Systems wants a character to be gay, it is extremely obvious. There is no subtext, just text. (Leon in Shadows of Valentia is another example. He may be the fruitiest character in the series.)

Given how much Priam takes after the "Radiant Hero" and the fact that he has Ragnell, it's extremely unlikely that Priam is Mist's ancestor, I mean Ike left at the end of RD and presumably never saw Mist again so even if Priam was Mist's ancestor there's no way he would have been able to get hold of Ragnell.

Soren isn't as racist to Laguz as say, Shinon, but yeah, he probably holds a grudge agaisnt the Laguz due to being branded himself. (Haven't finished PoR yet, so correct me if some base conversation explains this further)

Revian de Lumiel even here, on the official Wiki (fireemblemwiki.org/wiki/Priam ), it says Ike is a direct descendant, while Mist is an indirect descendant. “Direct descendant means those who are biologically descended from a person, while an indirect descendant means someone who is of a blood relation, but not a biological descendant.” Essentially, this means that biological relation, such as a child, can be traced and called a “direct descendant,” while an uncle, aunt, and others that are blood related but not necessarily their children are “indirect descendants.”

For a Japanese game made in the early 2000s, this is pretty gay. The newer fire emblem games allow main characters to be gay. If this game got a remaster, or was released in the more recent years, I wouldn't be surprised if Ike and Soren supports became explicitly romantic.

Raise Another Man's Kid For Love I have to say that this is true, nowadays people seem to do it on purpose and attack people just because they don’t agree with them and proceed to bombard them with their “evidence”. I still want to believe that there is good people in this type of stuff, it’s just that they are being hidden somewhere deep.

I was having an argument with people about persona 5 (one of my fave games that I played when it first came out) and they were saying how one of the characters (ryuji) was gay or bi even though in the game he clearly says how he is not interested in man and shows only interest in women.
Marth Main I get you, but sadly sometimes we have to remain quiet because this type of people are very stubborn about their “ship” and won’t listen to others opinion, they only want to hear that you agree with them. I am telling from experience because I had to deal with one of this shippers, I was saying my opinion and making sure it did not sounded rude to others, then one of them started to show their evidence. I proceeded to tell him “I don’t want to feel forced to like something just because a big portion does”, he then replied “wether you like it or not, it is this way”. Its like we are not even allowed to express our opinion freely because this people are going around there and forcing it, not even trying to approach in a peaceful way, the bad thing is that this people are actually most of the times toxic. And I have to say, I thought that I was the only one thinking this way, but here we are in a safe place to tell our opinions at least. Btw, this is really helpful to me, thanks a lot!
Reminder Ike is not gay and neither is Soren. All the tumblr fanfiction in the world will never change this.

The only Support Ike has that shows the tiniest bit of romance is his A support with Lethe where she wants him to come visit her in Gallia, (Not that she'd care or anything (Baka) ) so why people are so pent up on Ike being gay and awkward with girls don't really make any sense. Hes the commander of an army, He aint got time to go around flirting with every girl in camp and none of his supports with men seems gay, that just Guys talking and having banter and generally being bros.
To sum up. Ike isnt gay.

Except you should base your information on the base game (Tellius duology) and not Awakening which is an unrelated game; Tellius literally had two whole games of subtext saying Ike and Soren can and should be read as romantic. Also we all know if Soren was a girl this won't be a discussion.
