Matching the facets with the prongs proportionally is one of the main things I look for when it comes to quality… and your main stone is set completely random.

About a year ago I set my first ring and I noticed the unproportional setting, so I pulled off the prongs and tried lining everything up. At that point, the prongs were a bit worn down, and didn’t want to close down unless I set it the way you did. So I just kept gently trying until it worked!!!
