Incoming comments about how apple is stupid and android is better. No one is forcing you to buy apple, and people who like apple like it better for reasons that Android cant give then that Android users wont understand, just as iphone users don't understand why android is better because it is a PERSONAL CHOICE. use what you like, dont bash what you dont. There will always be markets you dont appreciate and those you do. its an opinion so saying "just buy a note 9 or a one plus" is not very helpful.

The bezels are the same size. The reason the StB ratio is different is because on the Xs Max the screen is bigger but the bezel stays the same.
Also probably because the notch is the same size on both.

I can’t wait to get the Max 😍😍 the bezels are actually the same size, but as the Max is bigger, the same size bezels will be of a smaller ratio to the rest of the display compared to the XS.
I just upgraded from my 6S to the XS Max and man is it a breath of fresh air! The XS Max is worlds ahead of any phone I’ve ever owned and I can see myself using it for a number of years.

This video helped. I was leaning towards the max due to a potential increase in battery. But it doesn't seem that much more.
A bigger screen to body ratio doesn't mean that the bezels are slimmer. If you make it bigger, the screen size increases quadratically and the amount of bezels linearly ;)

I’ve had my XS max since the phones came out and honestly it hurts my pinky when I hold it with one hand because of the weight.
Philip McAuley same, along with my hand sometimes. i’m thinking of just selling it and getting the regular XS. it’s funny cause I’ve had this phone when it came out as well, but if I’m gonna have a phone for about 3-4 years, might as well exchange it for something I would be more comfortable. I checked online, and my phone is worth $600-$700.
Jesse Gonzalez yeah, I’m going back to a regular size phone on my next one for sure. It could probably do some permanent damage to the hand if you use your phone a lot with one hand for years.

@@b11480 if I were you, I would go to your local Apple store, or Best Buy to see it, hold it in your hand first, before you purchase it, to see if you like it! Because lots of people bought the phone before they even held it, or looked at it first at the Apple store, and they regretted it.

Watching on my Xs. Love it so far and the Max is way too big for me. Saved me a hundert bugs.
Forgot the most important point seeing as its a mobile.....Portability. A second point is the attention the max draws in public as imo it increases the chance of it being stolen.
Although I really wanted to get XS Max (to replace my broken S8+), I settled for the XR because I didn’t want to spend over a grand on a phone, especially since my trip to Disney World last week cost about the same. The XS screen is kinda too small for me, so I didn’t consider buying it.

Looked at both. Already got an 8+. Was like reachability isn’t good on this design and I like 16:9. Bought a quad core MacBook Pro 13 for nearly the same price instead. Now that is a genuine upgrade!

Koustuv Kanungo I was looking at the 512GB Max. In the U.K. that is £1499. I’m a PhD student so I got the MacBook Pro 2018 with 512GB SSD and free beats for £1750. When you think about it that’s a free £249 headphones making it the same price. This is crazy.

Just upgraded to the XS from a SE. I think the max would be to big for me.
I've always liked big phones, and I still have the SE. My parents are making me choose between a piano, and a newer phone, lol. I would definitely like a newer phone, but some people don't even have a phone and my SE is working perfectly fine. I'd choose my piano.

ImKevK This used to bother me also until I heard someone say they know it’s “10”, but if apple chooses to market stupid names they deserve to be said incorrectly. The masses of people shouldn’t have to be corrected for a phone name that’s both a letter and a number (in a system nobody uses anymore). Next year everyone will be saying “ex one” for XI.
Ryan Alcafaras you still see roman numerals on clocks and are still taught it in school so I don’t see why it’s so fucking hard to grasp that it’s a ten and not an x!! Plus the fact the original iPhone X was released to celebrate iPhones tenth anniversary!!
The screen to body ratio is different because of the notch. Same dimension in both phones so looks smaller on the max

I have the Max and I agree I was expecting a bit more. Definitely wish apps were optimized to actually use the extra screen real estate.

Does the screen size really make it feel different?
I decided to upgrade from my trusty iPhone 6 and loving the XS Max so far. Screen is fantastic and the camera is so good it’s not even a fair competition. Expensive yes, however for me it was worth it as I’ll be keeping this phone for another good four years like my old handset. My only gripe if I had to pick one would be that you can’t flip it landscape like my mums 6S Plus can however it’s a minor UI niggle and everything is still easily accessible.

@@takeshiop8869 I’ve since upgraded from the XS Max. It’s still a perfectly good phone but the camera is starting to really show its age now. I’m due to get a new 15 Pro Max when they’re restocked. I very much enjoy photography and while nothing beats a dedicated SLR it’s nice to have a highly competent camera system in your pocket at all times. If you were looking to buy an XS Max for just everyday usage I’m sure it would do just fine.

Having a 7+ would seem natural to go for the Max, but being the screen of the XS just the same, I’m not sure. I would imagine the typing experience to be the same, and I use swipe as much as possible.
I have big hands, and I use reachability, but not sure it’s worth it. Especially having reduced the use of the phone in the last couple years. For me is basically a matter of having a pocket camera, and if there are no differences in the department…

Bezels are not smaller on the Max, it's just that the display area is larger, hence a larger screen to body ratio.
Just got the XS Max today and love it! Just have to get used to the no home button!

P L Apple actually designs there phones to start slowing down after 6 months and 15 days and then after 1 year they start to die quicker and other problems can occur, they do this mainly so that they can get more sales since people’s phones will be slowing down and they will want to buy a new one.

I can’t decide between the 2. The Max is really appealing because of the huge screen but I’m afraid that when it comes to daily use it might not be very practical. I’m coming from a 6s so in comparison it seems really huge. Any suggestions?

I must be completely out of touch but I’m sick of this trend of bigger and bigger phones, I went from an iPhone 7 to an iPhone SE.
I want a phone that fits in my pocket and is primarily a phone.

I have had the SE since it’s release. It replaced my 5 in 2016. I need a better camera but am so hesitant because I do not like big phones. It’s why I chose the SE rather the the 6’s.
I got the xs but returned it for the MAX. It was just too small for my personal preference. I love it so far!

Had the 5.8" X before it got stolen, I'll probably get the 5.8" XS because for me its the best form-factor plus the fact that there's no internal difference besided battery size between the 5.8" and 6.5" just sells it for me.
I know own a $1300 iPhone honestly not disappointed, upgrading from a 7plus this is a change of pace faster much larger and the battery life is better
The reason the screen to body ratio is bigger on the xs max is because the notch is the same size on both, therefore taking up a less percentage of the body on the xs max

I literally held S10 Plus yesterday, I have iPhone XS Max, I have to tell you this. It’s a really nice phone but what’s holding me back is unity and accessibility. S10 Plus doesn’t have closed captioning Support’s, iPhone does. I can’t remember what else that iPhone can do really well with accessibility but S10 Plus doesn’t have anything. In my opinion. Then I checked out the camera quality, it was okay. I think Apple’s camera is kinda better than S10 Plus, but that’s my opinion.
Also there’s fluidity, I felt that Android is still sluggish to me, I used to own Note 5 years back for so long, then I switched to iPhone 7 Plus, never go back to Android. I’m a die hard Apple fan, I love their ecosystem. I mean, stability is EVERYTHING to me. I talk to my friend on Marco Polo using sign language, Apple Pave the fluidity for me, it’s been convenient.
But now I shipped S10 Plus back, will never go back to them again. But that’s just my preferences.
I dont really like Apple and I think I would adapt more to a S10+ but that's just my opinion, I respect yours, I was also a, not die hard apple fan but I liked them but now that I have the S10+ I kinda dont want to go back to Apple except for the iPad I guess.

I also owned iPhone 3GS years years ago and I remembered how smooth it was and how stable it was for me. But battery life was terrible. But all in all, it is all about preferences.

It depends on the size of your hands. I never used the XS in real life but already tried X and Max. I love using the X more bcz my hands and my fingers both are so small. Definitely go for an XS 😊

In my views, if you have small hand or you use to hold the phone with one hand or when you lay on the bed and use it with one hand, Xs is much better. If you hold a Xs Max with left hand, you might drop your phone in your face and that will be hurt. So for me, I go to the Xs.
So agree. I got the Max on launch day, and just exchanged it for an XS. It's a gorgeous phone and display, but is just way too big and heavy for a person with smaller hands who is primarily a one handed user (and is overall not that comfortable to handle). So far, I'm happy with my decision.

I bought the Xs and love however I do have low signal issues.
I was using all my life androids, samsungs, LGs, One Plus and others. Till I tried Iphone 6 which was 2 years old already and I was sold for Iphone and especially how ios works and apps on it. Last year tried Samsung s8 because I thought I am bored with ios and wanted some real upgrade. But After two months could not handle more just bought Iphone 6s which is performing way better for me and for my needs. And now waiting for xs max delivery and I think every penny is worth for apple products for their iOS with updates and customer service. This is my experience choosing Iphone over android. Thanks.
