guys notice his b twist, his head is turned the hole way through to spot the ground! he is keeping is arms to his chest to gain the spin and u notice that his thighs or knees are together to help with the spin aswell..... for the height make sure u whip ur leg straight up! im still working on mine and i havnet gotten it yet, keep up the good work! thanks for this tutorial epic! every1 train hard dont give up and as a clever man once said............. STAY POSITIVE!
I'm very impressed with this video. You didn't even have any cuts or transitions. You landed every B-twist very clean, with a textbook formal kick to seal the deal. Thanks for the pointers and the slow motion is invaluable. That.. and it just looks so bad ass! :)
dude you have the best tutorials, and i've watched ALOT lol. as soon as im not injured im gonna go out and try your tips for btwist, raiz, and cork :) you're raiz tutorial is the only one i understand, hopefully i'll be able to do it because now it looks incredibly easy
ah, finally, my master has been struggling to teach me this move for months now, but after watching this, it clicked almost instantly and i can do it just as good as the next guy who happens to be able to do it. thanks!!!
Also, make sure that before you attempt any of these moves, you stretch thoroughly because if you don't you're not gonna get the right leg shape and you will hurt yourself. Great Vid. Much Respect
Dude I watched the winter soldier last week and he did this spin on the movie to move himself to cover so that he wouldn't get hit with bullets and it looked freaking badass.
I couldnt do it at first, learnt the B kick, and then all it meant was me making sure i put my legs together for the spin to land the B twist, thanks for the tutorial man.
I've seen a version of the butterfly twist where you take off with just one foot, and you kinda wrap both arms around yourself as you spin through the air and your legs kind of come together as you land, after hitting your target. It was used by the world famous black belt champion, Taylor Lautner
@SGlicious5 I can tell you its mostly the legs. Sometimes when I dont concentrate on doing it clean, I forget to use my arms but my legs still do all the work. But to make it look clean and to get higher, you better use everything, your legs , your arms and your upper body.
@NeO5560 yea, keep your right arm up and out (if you jump off your left leg) while using your left like you would in a normal butterfly kick. Then as you do your lift push, bring that right arm down and across your body as if you are trying to throw your arm around your chest and touch your back. This should help with the spin. Also it helps to think of when you are facing the sun (during the twist) to start your landing.
wow, man you do it opposite way than I do...it just amazed me, that someone does it begining with left leg...you're very good, thanks for nice tutorials =)
It really depends on what you feel comfortable with. Some poeple feel more comfortable cartwheeling facing right; others facing left. If you feel more comfortable cartwheeling to your left hand first, then lead with your left side and vice versa.
your tutorials are the best !!! you describe all very good and long , i tried some of your vids , its hard but i think it is possible ;) ! your a nice guy ;) !! :)
@Chrism13100 What you can do if you have good mats is, try working on the height of your b-kick, concentrate on only that, and add the spin at the end so that you will land on your back. By time, you will learn to add the spin earlier while maintaining the height
@Angelbikost Right as your foot leaves the ground you really gotta throw your arms hard and throw your shoulders and look over your shoulder. Don't forget to wrap your arms in.
@TheJuunaziboy you dont need to get your body behind you. The trick goes to the side anyway after the dip. your head goes to the side and then up... just think about a bkick when doing that and at the peak you just do a teeny tiny half twist and there you got it and you can stretch your push off leg again and you got it already...
negativ feedback? Are you kidding me? Your B-Twist looks very nice. I´m gonna try it the next time i´m doing parkour. And... thanks for all of your tutorials. Very good explaination
this is a very good tutorial.. cuz it helped me get my btwist now i can hyper, double leg, ST, and aiming at double btwist. watched this tutorial a billion times. thanks epic and big up frm d caribbean :)
@Chrism13100 If you ever get to try out that "half" b-twist kind of thing on a mat with the landing on your back, you'll notic that you are more likely to keep your legs straight, because you have less fear as y
I already gave up on that move ages ago.My body is not very good at adding twists to aerial moves.A B-kick is a joke, but this twisting variation actually requires to many things to happen for my body's physical capabilities to keep up with,so I just stick to simpler basic moves like b-kicks,front and back flips, but it's a sweet move though, and I like watching people do them!
for those new ones i have some advice. when u throw ur leg, JUMP AS HIGH AS U CAN THEN TURN!!! but most importanly, put ur leg up. c I hav been working on that for about 4 months and i fanally learned how to do it. I hav always just kept landing on my knees and going straight down. but then i put my leg up then i FINALLY GOT IT!! so the point is,,,,, DONT MISS THAT STEP!!! PUT UR LEG UP PPL ITS NOT THAT HARD!!!!!
in each of your tutorials i have think : I never can do this :( But i have do it and do it again and again and thanks that i can most of you tricks now !! :)
Very nice! I'm amazed with those movements! I'm Brazilian and I did Capoeira once. But I stopped for like 4 years. I wanna get back trainning but more like what you do not Capoeira cause I like those movements twisted with Parkour. But I need that someone make me a list from tha basics to the harder ones from your tutorials can anyone do that for me? Thanks a lot!
This was the most informative video. I just learned B-kicks tonight and can do them tho my abs are sore ^_^. Tried one B-twist for a test (did not expect to land at all ) and bombed it. Height is needed lol. But thank you, I am gonna practice that Kick for a while to increase height. Then that sweet twist will be mine ^^
@freerunner625 drill butterfly kicks wushu style, its the best thing you could ever do for your b-twists. It'll improve your setup, dip, aerial plane and it'll help you keep your legs straight for a clean fast spin. Search for videos of zuan zi and zuan zi xuan ti
The slow motion at the end really helps to break it down. The tutorial helps but it brings it all together to actually see it done properly in slow mo, nice touch. Only thing...you need to shut your camera man up, at the beginning of this vid and in your butterfly kick tutorial you just hear him mumbling and the butterfly vid sounds like your in a park so of course background noise but I could hear him/her mumbling lol Great vids otherwise very helpful!
@Angelbikost punch(so to speak) in the direction you want to spin If thats not enough also with the leg your lifting with add a kick towards the direction your going
practise practise practise. what else you might want to do is make sure that you turn your head around and look over the shoulder were you go. (and this is the most important part of all twist motions) Even if you still cant see make sure your head stays und turning direction all the time!
Well, the momentum of the ARMS is just as important. Which he doesn't really go over. When you dip down, don't be afraid to swing your arms for more speed in the twist, and then tug the arms in. But yes, the upward momentum is probably the most important thing about the Butterfly-twist. People need to just practice it. Figuring these things out for yourself is really the only real way. Obviously after watching a tutorial on it so you have the basic principles down.
@Chrism13100 I have problems with twisty thigns like corks so I focus on other moves for now, for some its easy and comes antural and for some like me its very uncomfortable (cork). Sand is good, I learned my backflip on sand, from a ledge tho. But its really good to get over the fear and work the technique without fear and with very low risk of injury. find a ledge next to sand and u r set, then do from ledges or benches onto grass or more solid ground and gradually lower the height of ledges
i can get my b twist rotation around and I also always land on my feet. The issue I am having when I watch video of my self is that when I am in the air my hips are sorta above my head so I am at a diagonal during the trick. It doesnt look as clean to me and i was wondering if i could get some tips on how to correct this so that I am more flattened out in the air. Thank you for your tuts and keep up the good work!
I've been trying to do and learn the moves. And no I have not got any injuries yet, only failed and beaten my self up a bit. But I feel I'll soon get this move to work :P
@Angelbikost I had the same problem, but i discovered that i did the b-twist better another way than i do the b-kick, so maybe you should try both sides if you haven't already tried!! :)
dip is key IMO. i don't twist until i face the other side from where i started (for example, i'm facing the my right turning towards the left) hopefully w/e i just said was clear xD right to left or vice versa :D
1. I hate that i don't have the control to learn moves that involve twisting. 2. I love that feild. It's pretty empty, no stray leaves or twigs. i could practice the crap I already can do, so well there.
yeah , this tutorial helps alot , its my dip im assuming because ive got a good B kick , but im landing like on my knees how you show it in your video , will try this next time i get a chance to train , also do you have any tips on where to train flips because my place i go to is clsoed for 3 months over the holidays!
@XGazudin That is the big problem. i need to call like a local gym or somtin to see if they open to anyone if the person pays. i dont have any mats. also, i have a problem keeping may legs straight during the spin. i think my left leg gets stuck out (left leg is jumping leg) while i spin, causing me to hit the ground and spin slower. BTW i can do a B Kick! that is easy. i also have no idea how you could spot the ground spinning that fast!
also! wushu trainers/ poseurs! b twists are meant to be completely straight.... as in DONT bend your legs when performing in a wushu competition because points will be taken off....... it looks a lot cleaner but i think that the bending of your legs look awesome.....er haha uhhhhh so yeah when doing wushu performances legs and back straight, keep your body parallel to the ground and a straight line
ok i think that i've learned this now as well that i don't forget it anymore. it's easy to do but i have a problem... my b-twist isn't slanted enough! it looks ugly, it's something like in 45 degree so in the half way of slant and strainght. if i'm trying to take my body in very very VERY behind me after the dip i can't get my momentum go in strainght up enough it goes too much forward. it's hard to try a swingthru because problem of mine :/ i just have to drill this more than ever !
the only way i know how to describe it is that everything is right as far as the rotation and landing, but when i am in the air twisting my hips are a bit higher than my head so its not completely flat like in the tutorial. I think that I am either kicking my legs up to high or my chest is too low.
you know how you do the dip then you rise? twist when you get to the highest point and push up even more so your a litle off the ground, that is the best time to do the twist
@General22 dunno about the funny sight lol, it sure was somewhat bloody. but yea I DID laugh afterwards because normally thats not supposed to happen that way lol. it happened right after the dip, it was too low and my knee came up faster and earlier than my head so, go figure :D Well i will work on it again from scratch and break the whole movement down once more
@XGazudin also, i heard that cork is easier to some people, so i will try that too. hey, is sand a good and soft material to try like backflips and btwist and cork on? also, i always forget that i need height. the first time i tried it, i went sideways instead of up, so i did not even come close to landing it!
I learned that you shouldn't trow your left (right) arm like a punch to twist the body, instead use your hips or center of gravity to twist, also think of it more like a aerial twist, so it will be more horizontal than vertical ...nice tutorial though ,,,,
@XGazudin hey, i can get past the half point and now i see the ground. but i am not high enough to land. i try to focus on the height, because my spin if perfectly fast. i keep landing on my left knee area!
i have a new btwist tutorial 2 in 1 TUTORIAL - BKick / BTwist (Butterfly Kick / Butterfly Twist) However the roundhouse is a matter of choice, when you spot the ground, snap that round! =)
I love how this guy does the whole lesson in one take. Great tutorial and incredible butterly twist!
guys notice his b twist, his head is turned the hole way through to spot the ground! he is keeping is arms to his chest to gain the spin and u notice that his thighs or knees are together to help with the spin aswell..... for the height make sure u whip ur leg straight up! im still working on mine and i havnet gotten it yet, keep up the good work! thanks for this tutorial epic! every1 train hard dont give up and as a clever man once said............. Absolute best tutorial i've watched so far. Very informative and constructive
Also, make sure that before you attempt any of these moves, you stretch thoroughly because if you don't you're not gonna get the right leg shape and you will hurt yourself. Great Vid. Much Respect

I couldnt do it at first, learnt the B kick, and then all it meant was me making sure i put my legs together for the spin to land the B twist, thanks for the tutorial man.
I love your twist is so smooth and the flow is sweet :D
I've seen a version of the butterfly twist where you take off with just one foot, and you kinda wrap both arms around yourself as you spin through the air and your legs kind of come together as you land, after hitting your target. It was used by the world famous black belt champion, Taylor Lautner

Dude that was awesome..Your fluidity is amazing..This helped alot thanks!
Ur the only tricker who does tutorials who spins and launches the same way and off the same foot as me!
If you had your annotations on you'd see that I have a new updated tutorial that I shot recently, on the BKICK AND the BTWIST!!
It really depends on what you feel comfortable with. Some poeple feel more comfortable cartwheeling facing right; others facing left. If you feel more comfortable cartwheeling to your left hand first, then lead with your left side and vice versa.
Thanks allot. I learned the b flip and twist in 2 days.. you were loads of help
a strange comment but you're tutorial presentation is really good dude.
Bless
your tutorials are the best !!! you describe all very good and long , i tried some of your vids , its hard but i think it is possible ;) ! your a nice guy ;) !! :)
I finally got the btwist mastered. It is awesome. It really makes you feel like a Boss!
@Chrism13100

@Angelbikost Right as your foot leaves the ground you really gotta throw your arms hard and throw your shoulders and look over your shoulder. Don't forget to wrap your arms in.
Hey, you've helped me a lot with B-twists and Raizs by comparing them to tornado kicks. very helpful, never hear that before!
This video helped me a lot and now I am landing my B-twist more consistantly
I think this is the best btwist tutorial i've seen. and i've seen alot. thanks alot
@TheJuunaziboy you dont need to get your body behind you. I good way to make yourself rotate well is to tell yourself to look up at the sky when you rotate. That helped me.
@Chrism13100

i have a fear of doing a round off back tuck but i really need some helpful tips to get over the fear
in each of your tutorials i have think : I never can do this :( But i have do it and do it again and again and thanks that i can most of you tricks now !! :)
the long awaited b-twist, yeah.. that is one of the best b-twists i've ever seen
Very nice!

all of epic's moves are so tempting to try
your butterfly kick evolved into butterfly twist! congratulations!
your butterfly twist just evolved into aerial twist cogratulations! -.-
I've been trying to do and learn the moves. And no I have not got any injuries yet, only failed and beaten my self up a bit. But I feel I'll soon get this move to work :P
I get that too, I fixed it by really focusing on "punching the armpit" and really keeping my legs straight.
ginga tip ftw! must be a huge roda though, given the big "momentum steps"
axé!
learnt the b kick a b twist from scratch in abt 20min thanks 2 epic vids :)
hey man ur good keep making videos u are a great instructor keep on doing a good job
@Angelbikost I had the same problem, but i discovered that i did the b-twist better another way than i do the b-kick, so maybe you should try both sides if you haven't already tried!! :)
so sick, your b-twist has a sick flare to it also
@srongyboi239 maybe practice your butterfly kick some more? I always practice kicking some object like low hanging tree leaves to ensure i get height
Yesss! Thanks Epic! I finally landed my first clean btwist. :)
I mean by eventually dipping more and lifting my leg further over my head hoping to turn it into an aerial sort of motion.
yea u can but later on when u go for the double b-twist or 2 twists it going to be very hard to do it from standing
dip is key IMO.
i don't twist until i face the other side from where i started (for example, i'm facing the my right turning towards the left) hopefully w/e i just said was clear xD
right to left or vice versa :D

Thanks man , great tutorial, thanks to this i can do it almost smooth and clean :) .. hey do you have a gainer tutorial?
dammmmnnn, good i watched this again, what made me go slanted was lifting my back! should be no problem getting it now ! Thanks
ginga tip ftw!
has to be a big roda though, given the huge set up and "momentum steps"
axé!
@Angelbikost learn how to swipe (breakdancing) and you will be able to do the twisting motion on the hip
yeah , this tutorial helps alot , its my dip im assuming because ive got a good B kick , but im landing like on my knees how you show it in your video , will try this next time i get a chance to train , also do you have any tips on where to train flips because my place i go to is clsoed for 3 months over the holidays!
You have the most gorgeous hair I've ever seen on a man.
@XGazudin
That is the big problem. i need to call like a local gym or somtin to see if they open to anyone if the person pays. i dont have any mats. also, i have a problem keeping may legs straight during the spin. i think my left leg gets stuck out (left leg is jumping leg) while i spin, causing me to hit the ground and spin slower. hey awsome tutorial iv been wanting to learn this for a while
5 star rating man.Great job
ok i think that i've learned this now as well that i don't forget it anymore. it's easy to do but i have a problem... my b-twist isn't slanted enough! it looks ugly, it's something like in 45 degree so in the half way of slant and strainght. if i'm trying to take my body in very very VERY behind me after the dip i can't get my momentum go in strainght up enough it goes too much forward. it's hard to try a swingthru because problem of mine :/ i just have to drill this more than ever !

Good tutorial.. it is not easy to master such feat for novice..
Thanks for the tutorial, now I can play dodgeball like a pro.
you know how you do the dip then you rise? twist when you get to the highest point and push up even more so your a litle off the ground, that is the best time to do the twist
@IndigoCat17 You can't really hurt yourself badly I mean, of falling from a B-Twist... unless you do it from a height.
SIck man dat was so Dope wish I could do that.........ohh and is it possible to do more than one twist/rotation or not???????????
@General22
dunno about the funny sight lol, it sure was somewhat bloody. but yea I DID laugh afterwards because normally thats not supposed to happen that way lol. it happened right after the dip, it was too low and my knee came up faster and earlier than my head so, go figure :D
Well i will work on it again from scratch and break the whole movement down once more
@freerun1080 focus on your dip and momentum steps ..
great tutorial! only thing that's bothering me at the moment, is getting passed that mental barrier of the twist.. would you have any advice?
thanks alot bro, i just landed it im pretty sure that i did and ive been watching this for months so thanks
@XGazudin
also, i heard that cork is easier to some people, so i will try that too. hey, is sand a good and soft material to try like backflips and btwist and cork on? also, i always forget that i need height. the first time i tried it, i went sideways instead of up, so i did not even come close to landing it!
I learned that you shouldn't trow your left (right) arm like a punch to twist the body, instead use your hips or center of gravity to twist, also think of it more like a aerial twist, so it will be more horizontal than vertical ...nice tutorial though ,,,,
Capoeira has his move if i am not wrong. Called a mariposa.
I finally got the nerve to do it on ground and I almost landed it thanks a lot
my toe cracks all the time from a failed backflip, it encoraged me to learn flashkick to avoid landing on it lol!
Thanks I almost have it! I have a butterfly kick down just practicing this!
Epic thanks for they help it just when i do a b twist i kinda black out and cant see where i land but im working keeping my eyes open
O contrare, The correct wushu way its a high floaty move like a butterfly kick. When its higher it looks better and its easier to do doubles that way.
I love it how u demonstrate it first before u break it down (Y)
@XGazudin
hey, i can get past the half point and now i see the ground. but i am not high enough to land. i try to focus on the height, because my spin if perfectly fast. i keep landing on my left knee area!
finally did my first b-twist yesterday! and i got it on video! look at the video responses
awesme :) btw how do you get slow motion ive been tryin for ages! thanks
It is a great tutorial. But everytime when i going to twist i don't twisted fast enath.
Can you give some tipps to twist fast?
it looks so epic when you slow it down
EPIC !!
You need to put download links to all of you videos please !!
I wanna put them on my ipod so I can watch them when I'm on the road >:D
do you have tutorial with a roundhouse kick on it??
Tricking Basics for Beginning Trickers!! - A Place To Start
***** I hope you will make a Btwist Round kick tutorial btwist with a roundhouse kick
i have a new btwist tutorial 2 in 1 TUTORIAL - BKick / BTwist (Butterfly Kick / Butterfly Twist)
However the roundhouse is a matter of choice, when you spot the ground, snap that round! =)
thanks ^_^
***** I learned btwist by watching your tutorial video
