Let me say something as a guy who used to be in the criminal world selling alot of drugs. I have seen alot of people die and get murdered. All from the ages of 4-35. I used to be outside every hour of the day. There was this muslim fella who used to talk to us each time he saw us outside. He used to preach and i looked around and i could see everyone's faces. Some of my friends got angry. Some of them listened and took his words to heart. I have nearly lost my life five times. I'm not sure why i am alive and most of them dead. But i used to do alot of bad things. One day i just had enough. I was tired. No more i said to myself. God please help me. I wanted my soul to be at peace. I had enough. I was tired. I was done. I looked up what time the prayer was. I went and entered the mosque. And for the first time in my life i felt true peace within myself. I felt free.
Alhamdulilah, he is one hundred percent right. I didn't revert in prison, but I came out of the drug and street culture and Islam saved me from destruction, and has given me the only real brotherhood I've seen in my 34 years living in the US.

I became Muslim at 17 while sitting in prison charged as an adult all my associates were Muslim and I loved how they are together and fought together and prayed together and I knew in an environment like that where Everyone else is backstabbing each other it was rare to see unity and when asked I took my shahada it’s a shame it’s been watered down a bit and the discipline was lost but it was a good influence

I believe that the solidarity is everywhere. If you as a muslim get attacked on the street, other Muslims will help you or try at least.. Yes as countries we are divided. This is true I m from albania 🇦🇱 and when I was in prison in 1995 in Greece 🇬🇷 we were small in numbers and we had differences within us but as soon as any of us get trouble from others we all would join and protect each other and we would be so violent to the point where everyone open way for us so there was no chance for anyone to touch any Albanian

This is true even in states. I was in detention center for over 3 days after my ex-wife accused me of some rubbish just so she can get her papers and stay in this country. As soon I asked the guard for time, he automatically assumed it was for prayer. Basically I was naive and didn't know I was in celly with guys who were in for long run and when they saw me pray too, no one messed with me and everyone was super respectful.

Reading the Qur’an is simple. There is only one copy from the time of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, to our time, and it is in Arabic, the original language, but there are translations in all languages, and you can read the translation that you like.

In HMP Brixton on Eid day we went to the Mosque and we’re just getting ready for prayer when a S.O senior officer stepped on the Prayer mats with his boots he was warned about it and he walked away so we carried on with prayers and then 15 minutes later he stepped on the Mats again then all the Inmates picked up chairs and one Old Guy’s walking stick and battered the Officer till he was Screaming “I’m Sorry I’m Sorry “… I thought that the Officers we’re going too come and stop the prayer and the Eid Meal wasn’t going to happen because of this but nothing happened and the officers just said sorry for the way the other Officer behaved and that was it we carried on with Our prayer and I was just shocked?.. It’s the first time if seen Respect given to inmates in this way ?…
In Islam we must stand for our brothers and sisters, if not, then you are not a true believer. In 2014 in i was walking in Washington DC at night downtown and saw three guys walking along a shorter guy around (5’7’’ or 5’8’’ ) laughing at him and he looked distressed, I didn’t want to get involved since they looked drunk and unaware of their surroundings, i turned the other way and walked then I noticed something and looked back to notice the guy wearing a black Taqiyah(round hat) on his head, i swear, i saw red and my blood started boiling as if seeing my younger brother getting abused, i went to them and told them to fu*k off or blood will be spilled. I told the guy to walk away, they won’t follow you, he thanked me and started walking only to see those punks throwing punches at me. I hit them back and messed them up since they were drunk and easier for me to handle but few punches landed and my cheek swollen the other day. He asked me, “why did you help me?” I said we are Muslims and we stick together in need, he replied “i am a jew” In my head I was like “Fu*k me I’m so stupid”

One of friend from Bradford, Christian lad. He went to prison for 5 years and came out as a Muslim. He was protected by the Muslims in the prison and got helped by them. Eventually he converted to Islam later on

When I did time years ago I shared my cell with a Christian only because he didn’t smoke, I was asked to change cells at red but I could not see a non smoker, while playing cards in the cell I got into an argument because I kept washing my feet in the sink, there is only one sink in a cell, of course the argument did not stop me.

This is bred in to Muslims when the start school. I grew up in the 80s where we were the minority, but we had each others backs. Even if a Muslim had a dispute with another, that was always put to dead to back Muslims together.

I do a lot of work in West Yorkshire, in towns and cities where you won't find a white person there. Done some mosque jobs and while there ive had nothing but respect and even one chap saying anything happens while your here come and see me and told me the shop he was at to go and see him. Every bloke I saw said hello and stopped to talk, never felt as welcome walking down a street to be honest and I'm white as snow. My best friend in college for 2 years was one of the nicest kids I ever met and he was a Muslim, took me to one of uncles shops and got me chicken wrap and chips every day for dinner even though I refused for him to pay he always got me it. I respect any man that can see through colour and religion to realise we're on this planet together.

Let me say something as a guy who used to be in the criminal world selling alot of drugs. I have seen alot of people die and get murdered. All from the ages of 4-35. I used to be outside every hour of the day. There was this muslim fella who used to talk to us each time he saw us outside. He used to preach and i looked around and i could see everyone's faces. Some of my friends got angry. Some of them listened and took his words to heart. I have nearly lost my life five times. I'm not sure why i am alive and most of them dead. But i used to do alot of bad things. One day i just had enough. I was tired. No more i said to myself. God please help me. I wanted my soul to be at peace. I had enough. I was tired. I was done. I looked up what time the prayer was. I went and entered the mosque. And for the first time in my life i felt true peace within myself. I felt free.

Why were you in prison if you’re a peaceful law abiding man with faith. In fact why are there any Muslims in prison as they are non violent, loving and peaceful.
This is true even in states. I was in detention center for over 3 days after my ex-wife accused me of some rubbish just so she can get her papers and stay in this country. As soon I asked the guard for time, he automatically assumed it was for prayer. Basically I was naive and didn't know I was in celly with guys who were in for long run and when they saw me pray too, no one messed with me and everyone was super respectful.

Reading the Qur’an is simple. There is only one copy from the time of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, to our time, and it is in Arabic, the original language, but there are translations in all languages, and you can read the translation that you like.

I thought that the Officers we’re going too come and stop the prayer and the Eid Meal wasn’t going to happen because of this but nothing happened and the officers just said sorry for the way the other Officer behaved and that was it we carried on with Our prayer and I was just shocked?..

In 2014 in i was walking in Washington DC at night downtown and saw three guys walking along a shorter guy around (5’7’’ or 5’8’’ ) laughing at him and he looked distressed, I didn’t want to get involved since they looked drunk and unaware of their surroundings, i turned the other way and walked then I noticed something and looked back to notice the guy wearing a black Taqiyah(round hat) on his head, i swear, i saw red and my blood started boiling as if seeing my younger brother getting abused, i went to them and told them to fu*k off or blood will be spilled.
I told the guy to walk away, they won’t follow you, he thanked me and started walking only to see those punks throwing punches at me. I hit them back and messed them up since they were drunk and easier for me to handle but few punches landed and my cheek swollen the other day. He asked me, “why did you help me?” I said we are Muslims and we stick together in need, he replied “i am a jew”

I'm not decieved by anyone. These are things i see first hand, being a neighbor of these communities. Yeah they have many things i don't support, sure. But there are many things modern western society can learn. When i worked an EMT i got called to an old guy who got beat up by kids. At the scene was an 8p y/o man, bruised up, teeth broken. For some pennies he had on him. You won't see that kinda thing happening with our muslim neighbors.

When I did time years ago I shared my cell with a Christian only because he didn’t smoke, I was asked to change cells at red but I could not see a non smoker, while playing cards in the cell I got into an argument because I kept washing my feet in the sink, there is only one sink in a cell, of course the argument did not stop me.

I do a lot of work in West Yorkshire, in towns and cities where you won't find a white person there. Done some mosque jobs and while there ive had nothing but respect and even one chap saying anything happens while your here come and see me and told me the shop he was at to go and see him. Every bloke I saw said hello and stopped to talk, never felt as welcome walking down a street to be honest and I'm white as snow. My best friend in college for 2 years was one of the nicest kids I ever met and he was a Muslim, took me to one of uncles shops and got me chicken wrap and chips every day for dinner even though I refused for him to pay he always got me it. I respect any man that can see through colour and religion to realise we're on this planet together.
