I’ve had influence off the likes of Slash and iron maiden also, but it was Satriani that truly made me want to get creative with music, and the likes of the others I’ve mentioned who drove that inspiration more 👍🏻
Clayseed hi man and thanks for watching! Same tuning usually, I’ll go an octave lower to about A#, but anything lower I will just use the same octave like in this track. If I had a good enough bass I would totally do it but, getting that clarity at that low pitch is hard in a mix. If the rhythm tone is beefy enough though it seems to make up for that lower octave 👍🏻 hope that helps 🙏🏻
Hippy Hobo Not entirely, I recorded all of the rhythms with an RG8, and an RG2228 (which I no longer have). For the leads I used both of those, and an RG1027pbf on the tracks ‘Pride and Passion’, ‘Morse Code’ and ‘Crystal Beach’ 🙏🏻 I think I also used the RG1027 for clean guitar parts also 👍🏻

Hippy Hobo yeah to be honest I hadn’t seen or looked for any reviews of it prior to getting it, only after I’d had it for some time I’d seen bad reviews - I’ve always found it plays well enough, sounds well enough with better pickups to get a great tone, my only problem with it was the intonation going off now and then but it’s a minor irritation to me. I don’t mind having to adjust things occasionally to save hundreds! 😅 but yeah I’d recommend an RG8 to anybody looking to get an 8 string, and the simply upgrading the pickups if/when necessary 🙏🏻
