    Great video. Thank you. Searched for quite awhile and finally found that #8640 bulbs work really well in 2005 Buick LeSabre climate control. There are many different suppliers. Thanks for the video. It was really helpful. Saved a couple hundred dollars, instead of replacing the climate control module.

    Thank you for making this video and letting me know what I was in for before fixing my mothers car.

    I miss having Radio Shack around. Those are probably the same bulbs I used in my Monte Carlo ten years ago. I didn't go through the effort of putting the blue on them, and regretted it because the buttons ended up being an ugly salmon color. I'm going with 14V green LEDs for my Lesabre, though I'll have to make sure I get the + and - right.

    When a few more of mine go out I'm going to solder in LED's so they never go out again, they have led's with the same illumination as the incandescents. I can't believe Buick didn't use leds originally.

    I think you forgot to put the two screws back in the climate control unit.

      🤷‍♂️ the car has gone down the road... Probably minus two screws. 🤣

    How did you like the brightness of these bulbs? They looked like a near-exact match in the video.

    I like the Mexican "makin a vedeo" part! Cracks me up too! Good job on the bulb replacement too! On mine, the whole part where it says temperature cool and warm of unit is out. Since there are no more radio shacks around, any suggestions where to get???? Amazon or ebay? What is the proper name for these bulbs? Bi pin lamp bulb? Is there a specific watt, etc.... Might you have a link to where I could get them if amazon has them?Thanks much!!! New subscriber!

    What size are the heads on those screws? Like 3mm? I'd be interested in knowing specifically what brand and size your socket is that you were using on those screws.

    • @crispyspa
      @crispyspa  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do believe it was a Craftsman 5.5 mm socket

    • @fun_ghoul
      @fun_ghoul 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can get away with a 5.5mm (or a 3/16"), but the usual GM size is 5mm (e.g. it was on the 00-05 automatic climate control I just took apart.)

      It's actually a 4.5mill.

    could anybody please tell me where i can buy those green pieces? I tried busting the glass out of them and its looking to be impossible without partially damaging it.

      You can use hot glue or masking tape to widen the new bulb to put the color caps on

    hey crispyspa how would i go about checking the box to see if it still works. im not getting power to it and its plugged up and im at a loss and frankly the only place i know to start is to replace the panel. my buick only has 60,000 miles but does me no good in the south without a/c

    • @crispyspa
      @crispyspa  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Travis Braud I would start by checking the internet for a pin out diagram of the plug to see if it's actually getting power.

      Are you certain there's a problem at the control panel? If you turn it on but it doesn't blow air out the vents, there's a good chance your blower motor has quit. It's very common on GM for the blower motor to quit.

    Or you could just buy blue leds in stead and solder those in.
