During the Soviet Union, some villages had movie theaters, village clubs where dances were held, and pioneer houses were established for children. These houses had many sections and clubs for extracurricular activities, including aircraft modeling, a photo club, a karting club, chess sections, and shipbuilding sections (models). My grandmother worked at school as a physics teacher. After school, she taught photography to children in the pioneers' house and also painted posters for the local movie theater.
I agree with you, Sam, 1000%. I, too, love village life. Not talking with my neighbors, who have a high fence, sounds like a dream come true for me. You're talking to a guy who lives in a city, surrounded by 8 million people. The not talking part is not an option for me. I wish I could live in such a village as that one in this video.

The village houses certainly aren’t built by the same contractors, each has its own character. 😅 I live in a small town way north of Ville de Québec and our buildings are also similarly individualistic. 😊
That is a really beautiful place, Sam. If I were ten years younger, I'd be googling "Russian lessons" right now, with a view to google "jobs for English/Russian speakers" as soon as I can string a decent sentence together. I would pack up, sell all the things I have that are saleable, give away the rest and fly over there next week if the lovely woman who showed us her garden at the end of the video offered me space in a corner of her garden for a tent and a small vegetable patch to sustain myself off of in exchange for my taking care of all of it. I would wipe each individual leaf with wet cotton wool daily, along, of course, with all the sweaty work. I'd take the dog for walks. Hell, I'd build a rickshaw and take her anywhere she wanted to go. You walked past that shovel and complained about how it was just left there. That would NEVER happen here in South Africa. NEVER! That shovel would be gone within milliseconds of anyone taking their eyes off it.

Pay attention. Some villages have absolutely no fences of land and houses. This is not a law or a norm. It's just a tradition. Some villages have plots close to the road. Others are far away.

Thanks Sam, This village does look pretty good an that IS some amazing garden. Some suburbs on the fringes of cites or some towns in Australia might look a bit like this. Some piles of junk out the front while people are building or doing rennos can be normal and people do like privacy- we would for our family, so high fences are fine as we don't want to be stepping on each-others toes. In England I've heard that individual house blocks are less normal.

Love your videos! Love architecture of common homes. We have many Russians that live in my mixed community. Here in Canada's country side we also have the newcomers to our village that put up high privacy fences. These tall ugly fences should be outlawed. Hedges are much nicer if a person feels the need to hide from their neighbors. Old guy next to me without a fence had a medical situation in his yard and he was found and saved because he did not have a fence.... Peace & love from Canada.

Hello from Nottinghamshire Sam! Do you need planning consent in Russia when building on the plots of land? There are so many different styles of housing, it looks like people can just build what they like. Great content, loving your channel.
Before construction, the approval of the project in the local administration is required. (this is just a formality) And after construction, if the building is considered capital, you need to register it for taxes. Taxes are quite low. For example, the annual tax on a house of 230 square meters (approximately 2,450 square feet) is about $140.
все зависит от категории земель, если это индивидуальное жилищное строительство (ИЖС), то проект и согласование необходимы, в таком жилье можно регистрировать прописку как постоянное проживание. Если это земли категории личное подсобное хозяйство (ЛПХ), можно строить без согласования(условное согласование с главой поселения), можно регистрировать прописку. Если это категории (СНТ), (ОНТ), (ДПН), (СОТ), согласование не требуется, регистрация прописки невозможна.

На 15.30 min. бюст советскому учёному И В. Мичурину, а за ним - местная администрация ( а в прошлом - однозначно правление тогдашнего здешнего совхоза)...😮

12:00 most suburbs in regional australia are the same for half building, windows and walls are far thinner, some of get fencing, but honestly far worse for random litter and dumping. UK def built sh!tty council housing better than any other nation. As a whinging pom myself, have to admit with a bit of pride our country hides suburban poverty better than most. It's absolutely there and far worse than appearences, but we keep it hidden.
Nice village! I do love it. It is really pretty and well kept, apart from the roads which are undoubtedely too bad!!. The houses are simple but really stylish and different from each other! Of course I do prefer living in a village rather than in a city and you can't wait to go back there after a day of work in the city, among the traffic, to relax and breathe clean air and perhaps watching the view around which is so cute. Sam's content is so valuable. Other channels just focus on Russian life but Sam covers topics that will actually help you in so many of your decision-making processes when you get to Russia so you'll be prepared. I have to admit the only thing that i don't like about Russian houses is that most Russian people(as shown in these videos) throw so much garbage and junk all around the perimeter of their property. What is the deal with builting a beautiful home just to treat the outside like a dumping ground for materials??? I mean honestly, stack it up and put it inside your perimeter fencing. They let the grass grown out of control on the outsides too. It seems that nobody wants to manicure their property even outside their gates.

А "коттеджные поселки для людей , где все спланировано и по правилам " - это как раз для тех , кто выбился из среднего класса , но не дорос до уровня "элиты" .😁Я живу в Верхневолжье , тут кто во что горазд .. У одних трехэтажные коттеджи с причалами для яхт , где каждый - построен индивидуальным планом , а другие - живут вот в таких "элитных коммуналках" , в коттеджных поселках , где все дома - однотипны и похожи друг на друга , но зато - закрыт въезд для остального "плебса" .
@@amare_naturam На юге например, так. Захватил землю кое как оформил документы и строит каждый кто во что горазд. А есть поселки, где как будто вообще не Россия. Это действительно красивые элитные дома и все грамотно спланировано, ну и шлагбаумы конечно, куда без них

Credit system was never developed across Communist/Socialist states in East Europe. After 90s people wanted similar life style like in western block and started building bigger and costlier houses. There is option you build on your own pace according money surplus ( sometimes takes life long until finish) or taking credit with higher interest rates ( compared to western countries) and risking to lose everything if you are not able to pay credit. Young generation detached from socialist past prefer fast progress and personal time. In general, most people are not critically indebted because they are careful in taking credits and young people are helped by parents from the same reasons.

Hmmm, why do i keep seeing chemtrials in your videos? I see tons of chemtrials in WEF controlled western countries(USA, Canada, UK, EU countries, Australia, NZ) and i thought Russia would be doing little or no chemtrials. Quite surprised Russia also doing it.

It looks reasonable now but for 5 months of the year it will be covered in snow and there will be so much mud on the roads.The other problem is nobody mows the grass outside their homes
Should they? I mean, if it's not public space like a park or a town square - why would you mow the grass there - or even bother planting it there in the first place? It's all local shrubs, grasses and other plants, most of them good for bees and other pollinators. These patches don't look as good as manicured lawns - but they are arguably healthier and environmentally friendlier.
That is the one thing that stood out to me in all your videos (and others in Russia). The tall monolith type fences surrounding every ones houses. Feels so cold, and most of all very unattractive. I think I would rather see the garbage. lol I prefer the fenceless areas.
in russia there are types of settlements that have stricter rules regarding fences, garbage and many other things. there the fences are transparent and have very limited heights

Т.к. на памятнике нет надписи, можно подумать что это Калинин (очень уж похожи они из-за бородок). Обычно Мичурина изображают лысым или в шляпе.

most suburbs in regional australia are the same for half building, windows and walls are far thinner, some of get fencing, but honestly far worse for random litter and dumping.
UK def built sh!tty council housing better than any other nation. As a whinging pom myself, have to admit with a bit of pride our country hides suburban poverty better than most. It's absolutely there and far worse than appearences, but we keep it hidden.
Nice village! I do love it. It is really pretty and well kept, apart from the roads which are undoubtedely too bad!!. The houses are simple but really stylish and different from each other! Of course I do prefer living in a village rather than in a city and you can't wait to go back there after a day of work in the city, among the traffic, to relax and breathe clean air and perhaps watching the view around which is so cute. I have to admit the only thing that i don't like about Russian houses is that most Russian people(as shown in these videos) throw so much garbage and junk all around the perimeter of their property. What is the deal with builting a beautiful home just to treat the outside like a dumping ground for materials??? I mean honestly, stack it up and put it inside your perimeter fencing. They let the grass grown out of control on the outsides too. It seems that nobody wants to manicure their property even outside their gates.

Там правило как правило единое : "все зависит от толщины кошелька". А "коттеджные поселки для людей , где все спланировано и по правилам " - это как раз для тех , кто выбился из среднего класса , но не дорос до уровня "элиты" .😁Я живу в Верхневолжье , тут кто во что горазд .. У одних трехэтажные коттеджи с причалами для яхт , где каждый - построен индивидуальным планом , а другие - живут вот в таких "элитных коммуналках" , в коттеджных поселках , где все дома - однотипны и похожи друг на друга , но зато - закрыт въезд для остального "плебса" .

Farm houses do not need any planning. During USSR we didn't even have any wall borders, between the houses..

Credit system was never developed across Communist/Socialist states in East Europe. After 90s people wanted similar life style like in western block and started building bigger and costlier houses.
There is option you build on your own pace according money surplus ( sometimes takes life long until finish) or taking credit with higher interest rates ( compared to western countries) and risking to lose everything if you are not able to pay credit.
Young generation detached from socialist past prefer fast progress and personal time. In general, most people are not critically indebted because they are careful in taking credits and young people are helped by parents from the same reasons.

It looks reasonable now but for 5 months of the year it will be covered in snow and there will be so much mud on the roads.The other problem is nobody mows the grass outside their homes
Should they? I mean, if it's not public space like a park or a town square - why would you mow the grass there - or even bother planting it there in the first place? It's all local shrubs, grasses and other plants, most of them good for bees and other pollinators. These patches don't look as good as manicured lawns - but they are arguably healthier and environmentally friendlier.

That is the one thing that stood out to me in all your videos (and others in Russia). The tall monolith type fences surrounding every ones houses. Feels so cold, and most of all very unattractive. I think I would rather see the garbage. lol I prefer the fenceless areas.
