- The Washington Post | John Philip Sousa
During the 1880s, the Washington Post sponsored an essay contest for school children known as the Washington Post Amateur Authors’ Association. The owners of the newspaper, Frank Hatton and Beriah Wilkins, asked John Philip Sousa, then leader of the "The President's Own" United States Marine Band, to compose a march for the award ceremony. The march became known as "The Washington Post" march. - เพลง
I love Sousa, and this is my favourite of his. I conducted the whole piece. I can't play any instrument, but my secondary school music teacher was Lt. Col. Sam Rhodes, formerly Senior Direct of Music The Guards Division. A fine teacher and a great musician. He taught us all basic conducting.
WhAt great playing
Sousa marchs are the best ever!
Sounds great! especial the tuba and bass trombone playing the bass!
Well done, Navy! Lots of finesse...but I miss that cymbal crash!
