Thanks Doug, this and your other how-to videos for the L322 are fantastic; much appreciated. The owners manual recommends disconnecting the battery before changing plugs/coils. Is this critical, there is a pyrotechnic device that disconnects the battery in the event of a crash -- i wonder if their advice relates to that?

The most important step in the process is missing from the video: Tightening the spark plugs to 23ft/lb (31Nm) with a reliable torque wrench.
What size is the extension to take them out?

Spark plugs will be the least of your problems on these maintenance monsters. Trust me bought an 03 total piece of garbage. Buy 06 and up.
