Loooooove this song!!!
This is one of my favorite songs. So glad you covered this.
I've come realise we aren't much different
Apart from the fact that I am Coldplay fan we tend to give a lot of stuff a similar score
I may be wrong, but in the unison vocal part, it sounded to me like Fabi was actually lower in the mix but still singing clean. Also, I've just never heard harsh vocals from her (though I don't doubt her ability). If any Eluveitie fans know of a definite example, I'd be genuinely interested to see it.
Well, the end of the song she definitely screams, even without the video you can hear a more shrill scream than Chrigel could do coming through the mix there ending half a second after he cuts his vocals off. But as far as her having harsh vocals anywhere else, their previous female singer offered a lot more harsh vocals (The Siege is a perfect example as well as King) but outside of this song I'm not sure if any of the other songs on that album have her doing harsh in other places, and she does that last scream in Rebirth live videos I've seen
@@alexjfranco Thanks! I hear the scream at the end (reminds me of the Into the Unknown cover).
@@alexjfranco Aidus is a song that she does harsh vocals in. She also will mix in harsh vocals for various live performances. Fabi and Chrigel's voices complement each other so well with the music and now her mixing in her own screams more often she pulls it off really well.
@13loodbanex I haven't seen them live, and a lot of their live videos don't have the best mixing and recording so I tend not to check them. At what point in Aidus does she use harsh vocals? I don't mean her first use of vocals where the soft tone turns to harsh right as she cuts it off before the Catvrix chant, or when her and Chrigel come in and she basically just speaks angrily (there's a difference, one you can feel in your throat and chest if you were to do it). Kinda why I brought up The Siege because Chrigel and Anna Murphy were going back and forth with screams for the whole song lol if there's a live of Fabi doing Anna's parts in there I could die happy
@@alexjfranco Ah gotcha. It's not the screams you are looking for, but if you haven't seen it, I hope they do more live recordings to the quality they did for this live performance of Aidus: th-cam.com/video/-7rpMI4Jf5k/w-d-xo.htmlsi=L95nAGGPlIQBjVrA
I've not heard Fabi do extensive screams in the traditional sense. She uses it as more of a flair for her melodies. She does seem to be making more use of it in recent performances, but nothing to the extent of an entire song yet.
Good
