I bought the 39C and on the second shave I realized I had the best shave ever. There is a learning curve and I don't recommend for beginners. If you have experience wet shaving, and want to step up your shave, this is the razor. I'm very happy with it and now I'm done buying razors, this one gets as close as anything I've ever used, including straight razors. Baby butt smooth.
Okay, I'm probably insane, but I'm just gonna order the Merkur 39C, I've never used a DE razor before, only the useless Gillette fusion razors or Wilkinson Sword Hydro 5, so I need a badger brush, good cream and let the razors weight do the work? it's gonna take me 60 minutes to shave as I'm gonna go VERY slow lol!!!
+Wayne Harris lol ahah i have one and it was second razor .... i would advise in being super careful and use preshave oil. But after a week of using it it is the only razor i use, the only thing i would perhaps switch to is the razo rock slant razor which looks even sweeter.
I also have the Merkur 39C and it was my second DE razor. Just be careful and use a quality preshave soap as well as a quality shave soap. I'd also stay away from Feather blades until you get your technique down. Enjoy!

Awesome razor. I love Merkur razors. Awesome quality. Fantastic stuff. I currently have the 33C, 34C, 37C, and the 39C. Love them all.
