Question. On a hand like T8 diamonds, you say you chose to go the aggressive route. Obviously that's why it makes the blog. How much more aggressive do you think the blog makes you appear than you actually are, given we only see the hands where you choose the aggressive action?

This vlog got me thinking about going for thinner value when your table image is dog shit. Like normally the q10 is a check back on the river, but after you’ve shown a couple punts it’s gets way easier to get called by worse.

an hour to drive to play poker isnt really that bad. I live in alabama and have to drive 3-5 hours to play lol.
I think the thing here is that he passes by a bunch of other casinos with great poker rooms on that 1 hour drive.
He lives like 20 minutes from the Bike, Hawaiian Gardens, and Commerce thats the difference.

Been really struggling in my cash games. I only play 1/3 and I consider myself to be a decent player. I don't typically struggle with the fundamentals of the game, but I am not a winning player so far. I started with a 5K bankroll and I've lost about half of it. Tbh It feels like a mixture of cold cards, PLO double board bomb pot luck and slipping in discipline at times.
I'm not sure what I need to change or even if I should continue playing after losing almost 10 buyins, but I need any advice I can be given.
The game selection in my area is EXTREMELY slim and so sometimes if I want to play at all, I'm forced to sit at a table of decent players. The games are sometimes good near me but I often just get coolered and sent packing.
I live in Utah where the closest casino is a 2 hour drive over state lines and it isn't really worth it so I'm forced to participate in home games which can be great or terrible. I want to be a grinder. I want to get better. I just don't know how to make the money to support myself whilst also being able to play poker.
$2.5k bankroll is nothing. And if you lack discipline, even a huge bankroll won't save you.
All I can say is don't give up. I've been playing 19 months and I started at 1/3 and it started very good. Was up +3200 first few weeks. Then the downswing came. Lost all profit + 2K of my bankroll. I wanted to give up. I was extremely down. But I knew I was playing well, just getting unlucky in big spots. Kept grinding, and now I'm playing 2/5 with 5X the bankroll I started with. You have to be honest with yourself. Are you playing bad, or are you getting unlucky in certain spots? I took a good looka t past hands, and in some spots I was playing bad, nobody is immune to that, but the majority was getting unlucky. The variance has evened out and it's clear as ever that I'm one of the top player in my pool. Keep grinding, keep studying, never give up. Regrets are the worst.
Learn how to grind a bankroll playing online. Deposit $300 of that bankroll onto ignition casino and play 10 cent 25 cent NLHE. very soft pool and very good to grow a bankroll. If you can’t beat .10/.25 on ignition you need to take a deep reflection in your game. There is no reason why you can’t beat that site
When you had kk hand with which the board was double paired why did you jam what were you expecting a call from? That did not beat you

It's nice to have a "home turf" as a poker player. I have a couple of casinos I would call my local favorites. Grand Casino in Shawnee, Oklahoma and Riverwind in Norman, Oklahoma. The interesting thing about them is the clientele is pretty different at both. The folks at the Grand, for the most part, are similar to those at The Morongo. They have a lot of heart, and not a lot of poker skill. The folks at the Riverwind seem to be more adept. I also would say that I've played a ton at Winstar in Thackerville, Oklahoma as well. Anyway, Mariano, it's good to see you having fun in a game we love so much. Keep up the good work, hope to sit at a table with you some day.

I think about 50 to 75% of your narration is fake. I mean after all why would a high stakes cash player want to be telling the world how they play. I would bet that about 80% of the people you play with are watching every single one of your videos. Some probably see you as easy money and they're just biding their time waiting to pounce.

Your game is similar to mine. The difference is I usually don't burn chips as much as you do. I almost always call suited cards with a king queen jack.

garrett would never in a million years agree to an opponent calling only if they can check it down. it goes against everything that poker stands for.
